How to retrieve a Flickr ID

[edit]

get profile info by ID (enter e.g. 44657206@N00), get ID by URL (enter a flickr URL; this can be a photo or the profile or a gallery)

{{qfi|Screen name|Alphabetic ID (path_alias?)|Numeric ID|reason}}

Or use this automated tool

Better reason to blacklist

[edit]

Many users are added to the list with the reason "Flickrwashing". I think that there should be a link to a discussion where this is justified. When users are blacklisted the bot fail them but human users have to decide what to do.

It seems like a waste if users have to start from scratch when a file is marked as blacklisted.

So I think that from now on it should not be possible to add a user to the blacklist without a link to some page. Should be possible to make a filter or something that warns user not to add someone without a link. --MGA73 (talk) 17:43, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ː Support as most of the users I add are as a result of a DR. But there needs to be some automation so it is low effort - perhaps just a box where we put a link to the DR and the bot does the rest Gbawden (talk) 15:17, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Aero Icarus

[edit]

I've noticed several images uploaded to Flickr by Aero Icarus but that user lists them as not his own work. Commons:Deletion requests/File:Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400; 9V-SPK ZRH, August 2000 CMK.jpg is one example, Commons:Deletion requests/File:West Coast Airlines DC-9-14; N9101, July 1966.jpg is another and this is another and another. There have been a few others that were speedy deleted as well. Can a bot flag these for review instead of automatically approving them? If they are not uploader's own work, the license they select may not be correct and can't be used here. --Dual Freq (talk) 10:45, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Tolkien

[edit]

Please add Thomas Tolkien to the list as he is a Flickr copyleft troll: Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Sued for using image from Wikimedia Commons. Nosferattus (talk) 06:01, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

insiy

stockcatalog

[edit]

Request the adding of:

{{qfi|stockcatalog||151691693@N02|User demands an "active link" when reusing images}}

Have just put a load up for deletion at Commons:Deletion requests/Files found with "with an active link required". They're high quality generic images so a lot of people find them and upload them (including me, which I didn't realise until I batch-nominated them!) but the requirement for an "active link" makes the content incompatible with Commons.
