The cornice and four Evangelists on the tower are in the style of the Mawer Group, especially William Ingle and Charles Mawer. However the grotesques on the buttresses are in the style of John Wormald Appleyard, who could have been working together with his neighbours in Leeds, the Mawer Group, at that time.
