OK, I have corrected for a CC-2 license which is present on the source page. However this image is available on enWiki also with the previous license. Was the CC-by licensing of this screenshot approved by the copyright holder(s) of the software? If so, that's still okay per Commons:Screenshots, even if it's non-free software. (And here, we're concerned with freedom; monetary cost is irrelevant.) This should be demonstrated, and it should be made clear that only the screenshot (not the software) is CC-by licensed and that neither the screenshot nor the software is GFDL licensed, contrary to the current claims. —LX (talk, contribs) 18:02, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I checked it again. So, this picture was put on the web by eBuddy itself as you can see it on their website. Anyway, the program and the data has a free license as Commons:Screenshots states so it can be used. --Zimmy 19:33, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can see the software itself is not Free software but rather closed-source proprietary freeware. If you believe otherwise, please provide the link to the source code and the software licence.

I see that the Flickr account used to upload the screenshot indeed belongs to ebuddy.com per your link. However, they have published it there under the non-free Creative Commons Attribution No Derivative Works 2.0 licence, not the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 licence. —LX (talk, contribs) 20:11, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am completely confused. Such CC license is not amongst the CC tags. Why? This image is not modified so we can use it rightfully. I see there is an answer in the Commons policy for it but I cannot understand. The owner accepted the free usage of the image under CC rights. What is the problem? Why a valid CC license is not enough for the Commons?

Second, Commons:Screenshots states: screenshots can not be used on the Commons unless all components, programs and data shown in them are under some free license, so it does not require free software, but 'some free license'. Which there is.

Third, that were my final words in it. Modify data or delete the image as you wish. I think this is pouring out our energy in vain. Millions of people use stolen programs, pictures, movies and we cannot use a screenshot of a free program with a valid license. Unbelievable! --Zimmy 21:28, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Kleb Attilával régebb óta kapcsolatban vagyok, így írtam neki a kép engedélyével kapcsolatban. Megérteném az álláspontját, ha nem adna engedélyt, mert eléggé pofátlanság, hogy engedély nélkül van fent a fotója ~5 éve.
