Sibylle...

Danke, --Pflastertreter (talk) 19:12, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Giovanni Nr. 1 gibts jetzt hier, Giovanni Nr.2 gibt's jetzt da.

Hallo, Xenophon.

Schau mal bitte Dein oben genanntes Bild.

Hello, Xenophon!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Copyright Inquiry

Dear Xenophon, I am e-mailing from a production company in England and we are making a documentary series for National Geographic. We would love to use the image you have uploaded, Isis-Persephone, within our documentary. Before we can do so, we need to double check this image is in the public domain. It would be great to discuss this further over e-mail. Please e-mail me at Ellie.davis@parthenonentertainment.com.

Many Thanks,

Ellie

We're trying to clear out Category:Old hospitals as too vague & subjective (per CFD discussion). Do you know for File:Erlangen - Frauenklinik.jpg: would it be appropriate to put it in Category:Former hospitals (that is, does the building still exist but no longer function as a hospital)? Any other thoughts on categorizing it would be welcome. - Jmabel ! talk 18:23, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Same question for File:Nürnberg - Krankenhaus.jpg. - Jmabel ! talk 18:52, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

I'm still awaiting a response from you on this. - Jmabel ! talk 23:34, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Ship model blueprints

Hello,

I am looking to make a 3D model of a Roman trading ship. I came upon your photo of this model: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Marciana_Alta_-_Modell_r%C3%B6misches_Transportschiff_1.jpg

I saw some blueprints of the model visible in the photo.

Is there a place where I could download the model blueprints that are visible in the photo?

Thanks! --Agamemnus (talk) 20:14, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Please use the correct date format

Hi Xenophon,

Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed you mentioned a date on File:Bordei - Häuser 5.jpg. Please know that in order for dates to be automatically detected and translated into other languages it needs to be in the YYYY-MM-DD format (ie. 2024-01 for January 2024 or 2024-05-09 for 9 May 2024). Also, for other (less specific) dates use Other date for centuries, ranges, 'circa' etc. like this: between for "between 1899 and 1903

date QS:P,+1500-00-00T00:00:00Z/6,P1319,+1899-00-00T00:00:00Z/9,P1326,+1903-00-00T00:00:00Z/9

". This way the dates will be translated internally into the user's language preference. I've fixed it for you here. See for example the result in German: here. Thanks again. –Krinkletalk 21:55, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Autopatrol given

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. –Krinkletalk 21:34, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

Chainmail

Hello, why are you removing images from the chainmail category? samuraiantiqueworld.com (talk) 20:43, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
  • Can you show me were in wiki commons the limit is set for the amount of images in a category? Many of the images in the category are not historical chainmail. Almost one half of the images are drawings, fantasy , statuues, or recreations and have nothing to do with historical chainmail. I suggest putting the modern chainmail in a different category if anything as there is no lack of images of modern chainmail but historical images are much harder to find. samuraiantiqueworld.com (talk) 12:14, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
    • I took your suggestion and made categories that matched the images better. As someone who studies historical chainmail I just felt that due to the small amount of real historical armor images available that all the historical images should be kept in at least one place together for easy reference, at least until more images are available. I did not mean any insult by changing your edits I can assure you I know how much time that takes. I think your suggestion was the best course to take. If you do not agree with my changes let me know.samuraiantiqueworld.com (talk) 03:02, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Datum postkaart

Smiley.toerist (talk) 12:46, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, now in English,

I have my doubts that File:Antwerpen - Schelde.jpg was the picture was taken in 1917. I suspect that the card was posted in 1917 but made before the war. Antwerp was occupied during the war and I dont think they had a lot of time for tourist excursions en fotos. The people probably used the old postcards supply from before the war to send messages.Smiley.toerist (talk) 12:52, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
