  • @Ankry: sam brak flagi jak najbardziej nie jest problemem... ale dostęp do pewnych opcji w samym AWB już tak... Wczoraj o tym nie pomyślałam, ale dziś przyszło mi do głowy, że bez flagi bota będę mieć zablokowaną możliwość edycji półautomatycznych i automatycznych... bo nie jestem administratorem na Commons. Na Wikiźródłach jestem... więc AWB działa bez zarzutu. Na Commons nie... co oznacza, że mogę wykonać tę pracę tylko wtedy, gdy skonstruuję automat który będzie klikał w klawisz enter z podaną przez Ciebie prędkością... Kolejny raz się okazuje, że w Mediawiki wiele rzeczy by było zrobionych, gdyby tylko na to pozwolono :( Wieralee (talk) 09:58, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Please use the botflag on your edits. You're spamming watchlists now. Besides that {{PD-old-100-expired}} is a redirect so that's a cosmetic change. No, the client has to mark it as a bot edit, see mw:API:Edit. I see that your latest edits are marked as bot edits.
Leaves us with the problem "Do not make insignificant or inconsequential edits. An edit that has no noticeable effect on the rendered page is generally considered an insignificant edit. If in doubt, or if other editors object to edits on the basis of this rule, seek consensus at an appropriate venue before making further similar edits." Did you do that? Doing near to a million dummy edits seems to be a bit pointless. Please put your bot on pause and get consensus for these edits before you continue. Multichill (talk) 21:54, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

Odrzucona prośba o zmianę nazwy pliku

Cześć, Czemu odrzuciłaś moją prośbę o zmianę błędnej nazwy pliku: Orzegów - Budynek szybu Jurand.JPG? Napisałem wyraźnie: „Reason: Bad name of pit; Criterion 3”, na polski: zła nazwa szybu (zamiast Jurand powinno być Kynast) i o to chodziło, a nie o to, w jakim języku jest nazwa pliku. A Ty uznałaś, że powinno być tak: „rename request declined: does not comply with renaming guidelines #2:Files should NOT be renamed only because the filename is not English”. Na jakiej podstawie?   • @Alistair1978: Please have a look to Category:License plates or any other category with "license", not "licence". I'm not good in english, but there may be a difference of british (with "c") and american english (with "s"). There are a lot of examples with "s" instead of "c". Your reference is the english Wikipedia. The rules of english Wikipedia are for english Wikipedia, not Wikimedia Commons. You can't respect all the rules of all the Wikipedias in Commons and it's not useful to change the name of one category to "licence" and all others are written as "license". --XRay talk 18:25, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Cathedral plan

Back in 2015 you renamed a file which I created. It was called "Cathedral schematic section.PNG" and was moved to "Basilica (architecture) schematic section.png". I created the the file and I want to point out that it is specifically the plan on a typical cathedral or great abbey church, and as such is ypically Gothic in style. The description "Basilica (architecture)" does apply, as well. But while it is a typical cathedral, the term "basilica (architecture)" is very much a secondary term. It is not a "typical" basilica church (architecturally speaking). There are a number of other diagrams in the section which fit the definition of "basilica" (i.e. they have a nave, aisles and clerestorey) but do not have the other trappings that define a "typical" cathedral. The diagram was not created to show a basilica in its simply defined form. The diagram was reated to show other features such as vault, buttresses etc as well as nave aisles and clerestorey. Could you please rename it, as a cathedral, leaving out the word "basilica" but adding the word "Gothic" so that there is no doubt. I am at present trying to direct a journalist as to how to describe a Gothic Cathedral (Notre Dame) and explain the difference between the vault and the roof. This is of vital importance, and your renaming of this diagram has made it much harder to find. Amandajm (talk) 09:29, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

  • @Amandajm: The renaming template is: {{rename|new name|number of renaming Criterion|verbal explanation|user=}}

for example: {{rename|Gothic Cathedral, section with architectural labels.png|1|uploader's request|user=TTaylor}}
or: {{rename|Gothic Cathedral, section with architectural labels.png|2|detailed, more suitable name|user=Amandajm}}
Number of Criterion you can find on the Commons:File_renaming site. When you are an uploader, the best is Criterion #1, uploaders have special favours ;-) Put the file renaming template in this file, please. I'm not sure exactly what name you prefere best. Is it "Gothic Cathedral, section with architectural labels.png" or another?
The next thing is: you can write a detailed description of this file by yourself. A browser is always searching both: names and descriptions.

E-A Letellier (1833-1893) is the photographer (see on book, or gallica) and not Émile André (architecte).   • @Siren-Com: look at history of this category [2]. It has only one version and it always was a redirection only. Files can't be inside redirected category, because nobody see them... the redirection leads users to the proper category. You have to change the Category:Émile-André Letellier and make it a normal category, not a redirection... and the files can return back there, I think. Wieralee (talk) 22:44, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

  • @Stuchka: this movement was tagged as a "requested move" [3]. It means that it was marked with the {{move}} template and located in Category:Requested moves. It is told, that if there are no objections, the movement can be done after two weeks but the action is sometimes many months late... I only did a requested move, because there was no objection. You should ask User:Butko why he requested it.
@Stuchka: это движение было помечено как «запрошенный ход» [4]. Это означает, что он был помечен шаблоном {{move}} и расположен в Category:Requested move. Говорят, что если нет никаких возражений, движение может быть сделано через две недели, но действие иногда опаздывает на несколько месяцев ... 1) На Викискладе принято отдавать предпочтение именам из английской Википедии, а там статья называется en:Stakhanov, Ukraine. 2) В 2016 Верховная Рада Украины приняла решение переименовать ряд населенных пунктов, которые ей не контролируются. Kategoryzacja

Mam problem z niejakim [5]. Wkładam wiele pracy w uporzadkowanie kategorii. Tymczasem on cofa moją kategoryzację i blokuje mnie. Sprawa dotyczy tego typu plików. Moim zdaniem nadają się one do kategorii np. korzenie nie powinny być w kategorii Čierny kameň (szczyt Wielkiej Fatry) – bo tu żadnego szczytu nie widać. Podobnie wrzuca do kategorii szczytów zdjęcia zwierząt, trawników, kwiatków itp. - bo zrobione były na tym szczycie, a że tu żadnego szczytu nie widać - to dla niego nie ma znaczenia. Nie kategoryzuje wg zasady co to jest, tylko wg zasady gdzie to jest. Czy nie dałoby się z tym coś zrobić ? Czy doprawdy nie przesadza blokując mnie za poprawę kategoryzacji? (już to robił). Czy ktoś na commons może się taką sprawą zająć? Czy jest na commons jakieś gremium tym sie zajmujące? Important message for file movers

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

  • To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
  • To perform file name swaps.
  • When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning.
