Categories[edit]

Please do not use NOAA or NHC categories for images. For instance put Category:Hurricane Ian for all related images to that hurricane. Have a look to the changes of categories I have done on your uploads.

File:NEXRAD radar of the Selma, Alabama EF2.png[edit]

Hi:

This is impossible to be your own work. All data being from NEXRAD, the source must be a National Weather Service website. Could you specify the correct source, the author as being «{{w|National Weather Service }}» and the copyright as {{PD_USGov-NWS}}.

Yes. All I need is the file undeleted and I can correct the errors. Elijahandskip (talk) 00:22, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please reverse your undoing of my edit ( https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Temora_Twister_February_2007_-_panoramio_-_David_Holt.jpg&oldid=prev&diff=737746562&markasread=60541822&markasreadwiki=commonswiki). This is not a picture of a tornado but from a strong dust devil as the funnel is in blue sky in a dry environment of interior Australia. It is not because it is titled "twister", a very general term, that it is a tornado.

Concern about your first-ever uploaded file: File:2010_wikiproject_image.png[edit]

In this image, some parts of the object and subject are affecting France, Iraq, Libya and Syria, where as linked, all of them are  Not OK for the purpose of COM:FOP. I'd not intend to nominate for deletion, but just wonder, that how likely they are all COM:DM or got properly licensed? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 01:28, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Still waiting for your responds regarding this issue, before, include me, anyone's DR here (not elsewhere, include not en.wikipedia). Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 13:15, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nice template but not correct. NEXRAD radar are owned and operated by the NWS exclusively. Category:TDWR radars are owned and operated by the FAA and military radars are owned by the US Defense department.

Pierre cb (talk) 11:48, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Pierre cb: Wrong actually. Per NOAA, “ The Next Generation Weather Radar (NEXRAD) system is a network of 160 high-resolution S-band Doppler weather radars jointly operated by the National Weather Service (NWS), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the U.S. Air Force.. See the NOAA website for the NEXRADs. WeatherWriter (talk) 11:55, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not owned. Only NWS/NOAA own the network. Pierre cb (talk) 11:59, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Jointly owned as stated here. “The Air Force’s 25-site replacement program is part of a three-agency U.S. government effort to standardize the 180 radars that build national weather and flight data for the National Weather Service, the Federal Aviation Administration and the U.S. military.” + “keep the 25 NEXRAD units the Air Force owns maintained and upgraded on schedule.WeatherWriter (talk) 12:04, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also check out the English Wikipedia article for NEXRAD. The full history and info about them is there. WeatherWriter (talk) 11:58, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Miss click?[edit]

I dont remember doing this edition, maybe it was a miss click Wilfredor (talk) 20:26, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I sort of figured, lol. I was more just confused at first, but after not hearing back in the first few minutes, I was figuring it was a misclick. Don't worry 'bout it! WeatherWriter (talk) 20:29, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
