Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy.

Getting help

More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing.

Goodies, tips and tricks
 • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your Graphics abilities.
 • All your uploads are stored in your personal Gallery
 • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~
 • Use the CommonSense tool to find good categories for your files (then other people can find them too!)
 • To link to an image page, write this: :Image:Foo.jpg, it makes this: Image:Foo.jpg
 • If you're copying files from another project, be sure to use the CommonsHelper
Made a mistake?
 • Did you want to rename or move a file? Simply upload the file again and mark the old one like this: Correct name
 • For more information read the full Deletion guidelines

Deletion request[edit]

You can click on the "Nominate for deletion" link on the left when you're on the page of the picture you want to nominate. You'll just have to write your reason, click and wait! But be sure to be neutral and objective when you want to nominate a picture for pornographic reasons! In the fellatio category, I see only 2 pictures that could be considered as pornographic (Image:Vivi and Torben.jpg and Image:Fellatio-real.jpg). --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 06:34, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but I won't help you because I don't want to launch such DR. If there's no problem of copyright (which is dubious) there's no reason to delete them because Commons is not censored. If you want to delete them, just launch DR yourself. I just gave you the speediest and easiest way to do it. --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 15:39, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
DR means "deletion request". By the way, could you write on your profile the languages you speak? It may be helpful for people to know that when they speak to you. You can use language templates as I did if you want. Of course you're free to refuse to do that, it's just a piece of advice... --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 18:12, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well yeah I think I'll continue in English since I'm not able to speak/write Spanish anymore! I understand it quite well (a kind of passive memory?) but I can't find my words! By the way, you don't have to start a new title each time you answer me on my page. Just continue under the same title as I do (well except if it's a very different matter or if it's one week later or something like that!)
For me is incredible because in my country materials like that are "strictly prohibited" > could I know where you live? --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 21:08, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well... Cuba might not be the best place for freedom I guess. But are the USA a better place? ;-) Regards. --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 06:30, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cuba free? Well I suppose you prefer not to say the contrary. Because how could a country be free when there's no political opposition authorized?! Anyway...
About Commons:Deletion requests/Image:Woman Engaging In Oral Sex.jpg : the problem there was copyvio. The uploader wasn't the author. And most porn uploaded on Commons has a problem of copyvio because there are a few people really ready to upload their own porn pictures on Commons. Porn on Commons is generally vandalism. Actually the fellatio picture you nominated for deletion might be a copyvio so it will probably get deleted, but not because it's porn.
Commons is not censored and it is logical that it could also illustrate sexuality and pornography. --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 05:41, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pornography[edit]

Vicond, For your information: Pornography is allowed on Commons. So please do not nominate images for deletion, specifically because they are pornography. If you find images that are copyright violations - then you may nominate those for deletion. If you continue to nominate images specifically because they are pornography - you account could be banned. --ShakataGaNai Talk 19:01, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Out of the "scope"[edit]

You can do it any thing with my picture and all my work if you want because I´m tired.Too mutch work on this "scope" for nothing and finally I only recive discutions. Good bye.

Vicond

I'm talking about Commons's project scope. The meaning of "out of scope" is that it does not follow the guidelines of Commons's scope.
Not in scope are fe. personal artwork and unused, non educational files. Even your picture is a nice one I couldn't think of a use in a project of wikimedia.
May you want to upload the first one of the picture series. Could be categorised in Category:Women in art

Hello, Vicond!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

BotMultichillT 06:21, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All these images except relation.jpg are only for my user page so I supposed that is unnecessary to categorize them.

Music Fragments[edit]

I've been listening to both of your fragment. Impossible_piece_1 has a good name that speaks for itself, I believe it's part of the Spectralism genre. I like Wikibots_working as it is much more appropriate to my style and it reminded of the first series of The Sims video games. Both pieces are made with synthesisers, right? --TudorTulok (talk) 17:44, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What?[edit]

Hi, I do have some more 10-12 tracks but no time to upload them, I shall do it in the near future, I'm still working on music, studing tonal harmony, but at the same time I'm trying to find a job. No I'm on the second week of testing at my new job, without being payed. What are your working at your job? Hope we can still talk on email. From Cuba?[edit]

Hi. How do you know that this girl is from Cuba??! --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 11:48, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your arguments and they are pertinent. But as you say yourself, you're not 100% sure she's Cuban. The best way to be sure is asking the author/uploader. Actually, when you refered to File:Two girls under an umbrella.jpg, there's a difference: the author/uploader clearly specified (in the description of the file) that it was taken in China. Therefore we have more details that we can rely on. As for File:Sexy_girl.JPG, we have no description details about the picture. --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 11:12, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Adolescence.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.

Borraron Tus Dibujos?[edit]

Borraron Tus Dibujos?
