Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Dear CoffeeEngineer, I don't understand why you think these images should be deleted. Please explain the problem you have with them. And Please ask me any questions you might have regarding them. The fact is, I am the photographer of the all images and I appear in all of them. They are "selfies." I understand this is entirely OK. I would appreciate it if you would rescind your request to delete. Thank you. Dear CoffeeEngineer, Ok I see the links you have directed me to regarding “selfies” =
“F10. Personal photos by non-contributors
Low-to-medium quality selfies and other personal images of or by users who have no constructive global contributions.
I am a known professional artist with a long track record going back to 1977. I uploaded
two different ‘self-portrait’ photos at different resolutions to Wikimedia Commons so that 3rd parties could use the photos on a website or in print article about me and my work, without worrying about copyright infringement. The phots are uploaded with the Creative Commons license: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/deed.en
They are not being “stored on the Commons for personal use.”
I see that many other artists upload pictures of themselves that they own for this purpose. In this context, what does it really matter that I took the pictures myself? It is not a case of just uploading a selfie for a trivial purpose.
What if the picture of me is taken by someone else? Would that be more acceptable?
I’d also like to address this issue of “no contribution anywhere else”, and “no constructive global contributions. What do you mean by this? Please give me a couple of examples of where and how “contructive contributions” are made.
Can you direct me to where these concepts are discussed in more detail within the Wiki Commons guidelines? Thank you.
I feel that I am responding here in good faith.  Sincerely, Victor Acevedo VCAcevedo (talk) 03:26, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
