Files from Wikivoyage

Hi. I'm trying to move files to Commons with a bot and I used your files as "a test". You can see the result in Category:Files by Wikivoyage user Tine. If you do not want the files to be in a user category you can just let me know and I can remove it. Now there is much more files in there. Not sure all the files can be kept on Commons because of COM:FOP. It seems that it is not enough that the file is free in Germany - it also needs to be free in the US. --MGA73 (talk) 17:08, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Also, when moving files to Commons, make sure that there is an original upload log on the file information page (example). Otherwise, you might run into trouble if someone discovers that the image elsewhere on the Internet before it appeared on Commons. If someone were to discover that the image appeared, say, appeared on some third-party website in October, someone might add {{copyvio|copied from site xyz}} to the image, resulting in it being deleted. However, the original upload log tells that the image already appeared on Wikivoyage in September, so if there's an original upload log available, there won't be any problems with any third-party websites from October. Please add the original upload log yourself when you upload the images; it takes a lot of time to repair this afterwards. --Stefan4 (talk) 17:34, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

I forgot to tell that the bot skips files if a file excists on Commons with the same name. I can copy those too - I just need to check if the file on Commons is the same picture and if not then select a new name for the file from Wikivoyage. --MGA73 (talk) 17:38, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Images from templates

I'm not sure whom to ask, but maybe you could help, or at least find out where to ask to get someone else to fix this? There are some templates, for example voy:de:Vorlage:Quickbar Berlin, which need an update. The template uses the code [[Image:Berlin {{{Name}}}.png|300px]] for the maps of different parts of Berlin. This works on the old site, but the maps have different names on Commons, so the template needs a correction. --Stefan4 (talk) 18:48, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for that information. I saw several pictures of you in Category:Bornholm and lots of them are useful in my opinion. There is more a problem with the missing name and informations. Wiki Loves Earth 2014 - Ein Wiki-Beitrag für den Naturschutz

Hallo Tine,

vor einer Woche endete der zweimonatige Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth. Du hast daran aktiv teilgenommen und wir möchten Dir dafür herzlich danken.

Mit rund 14.500 Fotos hat Deutschland einen Anteil von 20 % an diesem internationalen Projekt erbracht, an dem sich 15 Länder beteiligten. Sehr erfreulich ist die hohe Zahl an 729 Teilnehmern allein in Deutschland. Einen Überblick zu den Fotos und Teilnehmern findest du auf unserer WLE-Projektseite.

Gegenwärtig ist die deutsche Jury dabei, diesen wertvollen Fotobestand zu geschützten Naturlandschaften und Naturdenkmalen zu sichten. An diesem Wochenende wird in Hamburg die entscheidende Jury-Sitzung stattfinden. Wir wünschen auch Dir mit Deinem Foto-Beitrag dabei viel Glück und Erfolg.

Der nächste Fotowettbewerb steht bereits vor der Tür. Im September findet nun schon zum vierten Mal der Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt, wo die Kulturdenkmale im Vordergrund stehen. Doch du musst mit dem Fotografieren nicht bis zum September warten. Vielleicht kannst du den Sommer nutzen um entsprechend den offiziellen Denkmallisten geeignete Motive aufzuspüren. Ebenso kannst du gerne dabei helfen, die hochgeladenen Fotos zu kategorisieren oder in Wikipedia-Artikel und Listen einzubinden.

Einladung zur WLM-Fototour Erfurt 29. - 31. August 2014

Hallo Tine,

mit dem Hochladen von Fotos zu Thüringen hast du dich am Fotowettbewerb "Wiki Love Monuments" in den letzten Jahren beteiligt. Im September wird dieser Wettbewerb zum vierten Mal in Deutschland stattfinden. Seit kurzem sind nun auch die Denkmallisten zu Erfurt mit rund 3700 Einträgen fertiggestellt. Vielleicht hast du Lust, Deine Foto dort einzubinden.

Besonders wollte ich dich aber auf eine Fototour durch die Altstadt von Erfurt hinweisen, die am Wochenende vom 29. - 31. August stattfindet. Da es sich um eine von WMDE geförderte Veranstaltung handelt, können auf vorherigen Antrag auch die Reisekosten der Einzelnen gefördert werden. Weitere Informationen gibt es auf der Projektseite, wo auch die Registrierung erfolgt. Es würde mich freuen, wenn du wieder bei WLM dabei wärst.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 startet in Kürze

Hallo Tine,

in Kürze ist es wieder soweit. Der nun schon traditionelle Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments wird im September zum vierten Mal stattfinden. In ähnlicher Form hatte unlängst der Wettbewerb "Wiki Loves Earth" eine erfolgreiche Premiere. Zu allen bisherigen vier Wettbewerben haben seit 2011 gut 3000 unterschiedliche Teilnehmer (User) ihren Beitrag geleistet. Du warst dabei, und bist auch herzlich eingeladen, am bevorstehenden WLM-Wettbewerb wieder dabei zu sein.

Allein in Deutschland wurden in den letzten drei Jahren im Rahmen von WLM rund 100.000 Fotos zu den insgesamt ca. 850.000 Kulturdenkmalen bundesweit hochgeladen. Jährlich haben sich mehrere Hundert Wiki-Fotographen daran beteiligt. Auch im kommenden Denkmalmonat wird dies gewiss wieder der Fall sein. Der Tag des offenen Denkmals am 14. September bietet bundesweit vielfältige Möglichkeiten, Denkmale nicht nur von außen, sondern auch von innen zu fotografieren. Denkmallisten sind dabei ein wichtiger Orientierungspunkt und zugleich auch Ziel der Einbindung der Fotos. Auch in diesem Jahr sind wieder neue Denkmallisten hinzugekommen, die hilfreich bei der Planung von individuellen oder Gruppen-Fototouren sind und auf eine Bebilderung warten, wie z.B. zu Görlitz oder Zittau. Unter den Landeshauptstädten fehlt nur noch Stuttgart. Aber auch hier ist Licht in Sicht.

In der Mitte Deutschlands hat die Denkmallandschaft der thüringischen Landeshauptstadt Erfurt nun das Licht der Wikipedia-Welt entdeckt. Mehr als 50 Tabellen enthalten 3.700 Denkmale. Allein die wunderschön restaurierte Altstadt umfasst 1.800 Denkmale. Eine von WMDE geförderte WLM-Fototour nach Erfurt am Wochenende vom 29. – 31. August lädt herzlich ein, diese einzigartige Kulturlandschaft zu dokumentieren. Mehr Informationen findest Du auf der Projektseite.

Kategorie Städtisches Museum Göttingen

Hallo Tine, vielen Dank, dass Du Dich um die Göttingen-Fotos kümmerst! Bei der Category:Städtisches Museum Göttingen bin ich bislang immer davor zurückgeschreckt, sie komplett unter Category:Cultural heritage monuments in Göttingen einzuordnen, weil die meisten Bilder Ausstellungsstücke zeigen, deren Denkmalschutzstatus mir unklar ist (zumal bewegliche Kulturdenkmale ja ganz anders gehandhabt werden). Auch das Foto von Herrn Böhme und Herrn Czukor passt nicht, weil diese Herren mE nicht unter Denkmalschutz stehen. Ähnliche Probleme haben wir bei Schulen, Universitätsinstituten usw., wo die Gebäude und die Einrichtung selbst teils in unterschiedliche Kategorien passen würden. Beim Museum kommt hinzu, dass ja ein Umzug diskutiert wird, wodurch sich die Gebäude schlagartig ändern würden, während die Ausstellungsstücke gleich blieben. Was meinst Du, wie man das Problem am besten lösen kann? Eine Unterkategorie für das Gebäude (oder die einzelnen Gebäude, Museum hat ja mehrere) anlegen? --Dehio (talk) 14:25, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Danke für Deine Nachricht. Ehrlich gesagt war ich überrascht, als ich über HotCat festgestellt habe, dass es bereits eine eigene Kategorie Städtisches Museum gibt, ich hatte mein Bild des Museums damals unter "Cultural heritage monuments..." eingeordnet. Und das mit der Variationsbreite der Bilder fiel mir dann auch auf und deswegen habe ich auch nicht mehr weitergemacht. Vielleicht ist wirklich eine Unterkategorie Category:Gebäude des Städtischen Museums Göttingen oder wie auch immer sinnvoll, die man dann auch unter Cultural heritage... verlinken kann. Was den Umzug angeht, bin ich allerdings eher entspannt. Sollte es dazu kommen, kann man die Kategorie dann immer noch umbenennen in "Frühere Gebäude des Städtischen Museums Göttingen" :-) Eine weitere Untergliederung in die verschiedenen Gebäude finde ich derzeit allerdings eher überflüssig, zumal auf mehreren Bildern ja auch mehrere Gebäudeteile drauf sind.

By the way: Denkmallisten von Göttingen gibt es nach wie vor nicht, oder? Ich stolpere bei den WLM-Wettbewerben ja gerne darüber, was denn nun eigentlich ein "Denkmal" ist :-( ... --Tine (talk) 14:42, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Ich persönlich tendiere eher dazu, die Bauwerkskategorien nach Adresse statt nach Nutzung zu benennen, wegen stundenlangem ergebnislosem Überlegen, was man mit den Fotos der alten Mädchenmittelschule, später Persson-Realschule, heute Teil des Max-Planck-Gymnasiums und Abendgymnasium, machen kann. Das ermöglicht dann, auch Bauzeit, Architekt, ehemalige Nutzung usw. gleich für alle zu kategorisieren, lohnt sich aber sicher nur, wenn es ausreichend Fotos von dem betreffenden Gebäude gibt. Beim Museum sehe ich derzeit viermal die alte Posthalterei und sechsmal den Hardenbergschen Hof, wenn ich mich nicht verzählt habe. Das gäbe noch sehr spärliche Belegungen der einzelnen Kategorien.

Bei Wikipedia gibt es so weit ich weiß noch keine Denkmallisten von Göttingen. Benutzer:Clemensfranz hatte da was angefangen, aber Benutzer:Stuby hat ihm wohl reingepfuscht, und ob das jetzt eingeschlafen ist, weiß ich nicht. Von der Innenstadt gibt es diese Karte und daraus gebastelt, aber noch nicht durchkorrigiert diese Liste. Schwierig finde ich es, wenn ein Platz als Platzfläche denkmalgeschützt ist, weil dadurch wohl sicher nicht zwangsläufig die dort aufgestellten Gegenstände denkmalgeschützt sind (auch wenn sie "Denkmäler" im Sinne von Gedenk-Stätten sind). Ebenso schwierig würde es sicher, ein Foto von einem modernen und vielleicht sogar unpassenden Detail an einem denkmalgeschützten Haus einzuordnen (z.B. neues, vielleicht soger unzulässiges Dachflächenfenster). Da weiß ich noch nicht, wie man damit umgehen könnte. --Dehio (talk) 15:07, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Mir ist die von Dir vorgeschlagene Vorgehensweise nach Adresse ebenso recht, und finde eine Aufnahme der Gebäude in die Kategorie des Museums grundsätzlich sinnvoll. Ich bin aber kein Profi in Denkmalsfragen und überlasse das korrekte Benennen gerne Dir. Und das richtige Kategorisieren ist sowieso eine Kunst, in der ich noch immer am Lernen bin.

Danke auch für die Denkmal-Links, da ist wohl noch viel Arbeit zu leisten. So kann ich zumindest mal gezielter mit der Kamera spazierengehen. :-) --Tine (talk) 15:36, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Irgendwie habe ich den Verdacht, dass sich mit dem richtigen Kategorisieren in Wirklichkeit niemand auf Commons auskennt, das ist ziemlich chaotisch, und je mehr man einsteigt, desto schlimmer wird es. Mal sehen, ob ich das irgendwann schaffe.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 - Ein Wiki-Beitrag für die Denkmaltopographie

Hallo Tine,

vor zehn Tagen endete der vierte Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments. Du hast daran aktiv teilgenommen und wir möchten Dir dafür herzlich danken.

Mit mehr als 35 Tausend Fotos hat Deutschland wie in den Vorjahren ein gutes Ergebnis erreicht und einen Anteil von 14 % an diesem internationalen Projekt erbracht, an dem sich 40 Länder beteiligten. Sehr erfreulich ist die hohe Zahl an 651 Teilnehmern allein in Deutschland. Schon zum Abschluss des Wettbewerbs waren rund 6000 Fotos (=17 %) in Listen und Artikel eingebunden. Einen detaillierten Überblick zu den Fotos, den Bundesländern und Teilnehmern findest du auf unserer WLM-Projektseite.

Die deutsche Jury hat nun die eingereichten Beiträge übernommen und ist gegenwärtig dabei, diesen wertvollen Fotobestand zu den Kulturdenkmalen zu sichten. Am nächsten Wochenende wird in Hamburg die entscheidende Jury-Sitzung stattfinden. Wir wünschen auch Dir mit Deinem Foto-Beitrag dabei viel Glück und Erfolg. Du darfst gespannt sein und all Deine Freunde bitten, Dir die Daumen zu drücken.

Die preisgekrönten 100 Gewinner-Fotos werden in der Woche ab dem 20. Oktober veröffentlicht. Auf dieser Grundlage wird auch in diesem Jahr ein Kalender-Poster für 2015 gedruckt werden.

Auf zwei Möglichkeiten einer weiteren aktiven Mitwirkung an unserem Denkmal-Projekt möchten wir bei dieser Gelegenheit hinweisen bzw. Dich dazu einladen:

• Unsere Freunde in Österreich haben mit einem gerade gestarteten Denkmal-Cup das Editieren von Denkmallisten und Denkmalartikeln in den Focus gerückt. Bis Ende des Jahres kannst Du Punkte sammeln und Preise gewinnen. Dabei geht es mit diesem Wettbewerb nicht nur um Kulturdenkmale in AT oder D, sondern generell um Denkmale in der deutschsprachigen Wikipedia, als offen für alle Länder.

• Vom 6.-8. November findet erneut die Europäische Denkmalmesse in Leipzig statt. Mit Unterstützung von Wikimedia Deutschland e.V. werden wir zum zweiten Mal die Ergebnisse von Wiki Loves Monuments im Rahmen eines Standes sowie eines Workshops vorstellen.

WLM-Aktivisten sind herzlich eingeladen, bei der Betreuung des Messestandes sowie in den Gesprächen über Möglichkeiten einer partnerschaftlichen Zusammenarbeit mit den Denkmalbehörden mitzuwirken. Die Reisekosten übernimmt für 8-10 registrierte Standbetreuer WMDE. Es muss nicht der gesamte Messezeitraum sein, auch eine Mitwirkung an 2 Tagen hilft uns, den Beitrag der Wikipedia für die Denkmaltopographie sichtbar zu machen.

Und schließlich gilt: Nach dem Wettbewerb ist vor dem Wettbewerb. Bereits jetzt kann jeder mit der Planung von Wiki Loves Monuments 2015 beginnen. Wir freuen uns auf Deine weiteren Beiträge für Wikimedia-Projekte.

Bots

You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.

What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.

This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

• The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.
• Or you could update your code to use the simplified continuation documented at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Query#Continuing_queries (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&continue=>), which is much easier for clients to implement correctly.

Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.

Hallo Tine,

nun ist es wieder soweit. Vom 1. bis zum 30. September findet zum fünften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Im Mittelpunkt steht bekanntlich das Fotografieren von Kulturdenkmalen. Du hast an einem der letzten Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen und wir freuen uns auf weitere Bildbeiträge von Dir.

Viele interessante Motive, nicht nur Burgen und Schlösser, sondern auch Fachwerkhäuser, Brücken und Brunnen, technische und Industriedenkmale und vieles mehr gibt es noch zu fotografieren, damit sie in der Wikipedia dokumentiert werden können. Nützliche Tipps findest du auf unserer WLM-Projektseite. Du kannst gerne individuell Fototouren durchführen oder aber Dich auch Gruppentouren anschließen. Besonders freuen wir uns auf Fotos, die Lücken in den Denkmallisten der Wikipedia ausfüllen.

Darüber hinaus kannst Du auch an der Arbeit der Jury teilnehmen, die Mitte Oktober die Fotos bewerten und die Gewinner ermitteln wird. Bis zum 15. August kannst du hier Deine Bewerbung einreichen.

Du erhältst diese Nachricht als Teilnehmer von Wiki Loves Earth 2014 oder 2015. Dieses Jahr wird sich Deutschland wieder am Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth beteiligen. Wir würden uns über weitere Bilder von Dir freuen. Der Zeitraum für das Hochladen der Naturbilder ist vom 1. bis 31. Mai 2016.

Für die Weitergabe an den internationalen Wettbewerb ist ab diesem Jahr eine Mindestauflösung von 2 Megapixeln erforderlich. Bitte gib an, in welchem Schutzgebiet oder an welchem Schutzobjekt (z.B. Naturdenkmal, Geotop) die Fotos gemacht wurden. Wenn Bilder gar nicht zugeordnet werden können, gelangen sie nicht in die Wertung. In die Bilder eingefügte Zusätze wie der Name des Fotografen, Datum, Beschreibung oder ein Rahmen sind unerwünscht.

Seit der letzten Runde sind unter anderem Listen aller FFH-Gebiete und EU-Vogelschutzgebiete in Deutschland erstellt worden, die nun ebenfalls auf Bilder warten.

Wiki Loves Earth 2018

Hallo Tine,

im Namen von Organisationsteam und Jury danke ich Dir für Deine Teilnahme bei Wiki Loves Earth Deutschland.

Im Jahr 2018 wurden ebenso wie im Vorjahr etwa 24.000 Fotos hochgeladen, von denen viele die Artikel und Listen der Wikipedia illustrieren werden. Die Teilnehmerzahl lag diesmal bei 683, im Vorjahr waren es 1063.

Unsere Jury hat die Top100 der Bilder aus Deutschland ausgewählt. Die zehn bestplatzierten Fotos nehmen an der internationalen Ausscheidung teil.

Falls Du Lust auf einen weiteren Fotowettbewerb hast: Im September läuft Wiki Loves Monuments, wo Bilder von denkmalgeschützten Gebäuden eingereicht werden können.

Wiki Loves Earth 2019

Hallo Tine,

vom 1. bis 31. Mai 2019 kannst Du wieder beim Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth Deutschland (WLE 2019) teilnehmen. Gesucht sind selbst aufgenommene Landschafts- und Naturfotos aus Schutzgebieten in Deutschland.

Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg kann diese Übersichtsseite dienen.

WLE 2019 kann nur durchgeführt werden, wenn weitere Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen unser Team verstärken. Es geht unter anderem um die Organisation in der Wikipedia und das Sortieren der Bilder auf Commons. Über Art und Umfang der Beteiligung entscheidest Du selbst.

Wie in den Vorjahren übernimmt eine Vorjury ab Anfang Mai die Vorauswahl der Bilder. Auch daran kannst Du Dich gern beteiligen. Bei Interesse trage Dich bitte unter WLE-Vorjury ein, das Passwort kommt per E-Mail.

Besonders engagierte Freiwillige werden für die Jury benötigt. Wenn Du vom 12. bis 14. Juli in Fulda die besten Bilder küren willst, melde Dich auf der Jury-Seite.

Thanks for your help on the Seattle photos, but please leave {{Check categories}} and Category:Seattle until we have a geographically specific category, or they are liable to fall through the cracks for getting that. For example, File:Cowen Park covered with snow, January 1916 (SEATTLE 1989).jpg we have a category for that park. File:University Baptist church in snow at the southeast corner of NE 45th St and Brooklyn Ave, 1916 (SEATTLE 3738).jpg is a building that we have a category for; File:Benton's Jeweler's clock in snow on University Way NE between NE 43rd Street and NE 45th Street, University District, 1916 (SEATTLE 3662).jpg I think we even have a category for that specific clock!

In short, the additions are welcome, but the subtractions are likely to prevent the more key categories from ending up on the photo. In the case of Category:Snow in Seattle in 1916, because I spotted it and will follow through on these, but have there been others? Hi @Jmabel: , sorry if I messed anything up. I think I got all "1916 + snow + Seattle"-files, but there are more "years + snow + Seattle"-categories possible, so more subcategories would be possible in my opinion helpful. I just made some cleaning up in this Category:Media_needing_category_review_as_of_30_August_2019 and tried to be more helpful than just adding to categories which could need more specification (in my opinion). I know that someone with more specific knowledge of a city or a region can categorize more precise. But it is not easy to sense which of the millions of uncategorized or unchecked files in all the maintanance categories on commons are on someone's radar at all. :-) Especially when they are not checked for years. So it is inevitable that one comes sometimes unintentionally into the territory of someone else. Important message for file movers

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

• To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
• To perform file name swaps.
• When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben Naturdenkmälern wie alten Bäumen oder Naturparks im Gebirge und am Meer können Geotope wie Quellen und Aufschlüsse oder FFH-Gebiete fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. In den letzten Jahren sind zahlreiche neue Listen und Artikel in diesen Bereichen entstanden, für die wir uns über Fotos freuen. Als Einstieg für die Suche nach Motiven hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du hier und vor allem unter dieser Anleitung. @AxelHH: - Nachprüfen konnte ich das nicht, da der Standort des Zeltes, in dem die Kapitulation unterzeichnet wurde, heute nicht zugänglich ist - Sicherheitsgelände. Es stand aber so auf einer oder mehrerer der Infotafeln, dass dies die Absicht Montgomerys war. Obwohl ich mich im Artikel Teilkapitulation der Wehrmacht für Nordwestdeutschland, Dänemark und die Niederlande mit dem Thema befasst habe, ist mir nicht ganz klar, wo das Zelt stand und ob das Denkmal an dieser Stelle errichtet wurde. --AxelHH (talk) 18:44, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Das war leider auch vor Ort nicht zu erfahren. Auch nicht, ob das ursprüngliche Denkmal am Zeltstandort errichtet wurde. Nach diesen Bildern https://www.geschichtsspuren.de/artikel/verschiedenes/133-1945-kapitulation-timeloberg-lueneburg.html macht es auch keinen Sinn, per google maps nach dem Standort zu suchen, weil die Fundamente wohl von oben durch den Wald nicht mehr zu erkennnen sein werden. bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. bis zum 30. September 2020 findet zum zehnten Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Dabei können Bau-, Boden- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich gern wieder ein, dieses Jahr mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Obwohl es den Wettbewerb seit zehn Jahren gibt, sind immer noch viele Motive überall in Deutschland zu fotografieren. Neben beeindruckenden märchenhaften Schlössern, Burgen und Kirchen können auch andere Kulturdenkmale wie Brücken, Industrieruinen, Bauernhöfe oder Parks fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. In den letzten Jahren sind zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden, die sich über Fotos freuen. Es haben sich auch Kulturdenkmale verändert, sie wurden saniert oder umgestaltet. Diese Entwicklung kann auch gezeigt werden. Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Wiki Loves Earth 2021

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. Mai bis zum 31. Mai 2021 findet zum neunten Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Earth statt. Deutschland ist zum achten Mal dabei. Dabei können unter anderem Nationalparks, Naturschutzgebiete, Geotope und Naturdenkmäler fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich ein, auch dieses Jahr wieder mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Wie du bei den Top 5 des vergangenen Jahres siehst, sind vor allem Tiere unter den Siegerbildern. Aus diesem Grund setzen wir den Fokus dieses Jahr stärker auf Landschaftsaufnahmen. Aber natürlich haben auch Tierbilder eine Chance zu gewinnen.

Es sind wie immer viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu finden. Neben Naturdenkmälern wie alten Bäumen oder Naturparks im Gebirge und am Meer können Geotope wie Findlinge, Quellen und Aufschlüsse oder FFH-Gebiete fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. Auch im vergangenen Jahr sind zahlreiche neue Listen und Artikel in diesen Bereichen entstanden, für die wir uns über Fotos freuen. Obwohl es den Wettbewerb seit über zehn Jahren gibt, sind immer noch viele Motive überall in Deutschland zu fotografieren. Im Herzen Deutschlands in Thüringen und in Niedersachsen sind neue Denkmallisten entstanden, die auf Fotos warten. Übrigens in der Hauptstadt Thüringens in Erfurt findet dieses Jahr die WikiCon vom 1. bis 3. Oktober statt. Dies könnte man mit einem Foto-Kurzurlaub vor der WikiCon in Thüringen verbinden …

Vor dem Hintergrund der Flutkatastrophe 2021 haben wir auch drei Sonderpreise ausgelobt. Damit sollen Fotos prämiert werden, die Kulturdenkmale zeigen, die zerstört wurden. Das Foto kann das Objekt vor oder nach der Zerstörung zeigen.

Sieger 2021 – Schloss Langenburg

Vergangenes Jahr hat Matthias Süßen mit einer Drohnenaufnahme von Schloss Langenburg im Morgennebel gewonnen. Welcher Fotograf wird dieses Jahr sein Nachfolger?

Nach WLM 2022 sind wieder zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden – zum Beispiel die Denkmallisten in Cloppenburg oder in Oldenburg.

Wir haben dieses Jahr unter dem Motto „Klein aber Oho“ drei Sonderpreise für Kleindenkmale ausgelobt. Damit sollen Fotos prämiert werden, die die unterschätzten Kleindenkmale wie Grenzsteine oder Bildstöcke zeigen.

Settlements and municipalities

Is there any guidance on Dewiki or elsewhere about if low level municipalities (Gemeinde) should be combined with the settlement of the same name? From what I can see in almost all cases Dewiki has a single combined article and we have here, for example Category:Hirschbach im Mühlkreis deals both with the settlement with a population of 376 (2022) as well as the municipality (1,169) even though there are other places like Category:Pemsedt (36)[3]. Aside from the articles created by Lsjbot on Ceb (and also Sv which were merged) all other projects have a single article for both settlement and municipality. This is also the cases with the likes of Category:Wetheral in England that contains a number of other settlements. There is w:Wikipedia:Separate articles for administrative divisions to settlements that I wrote but is there anything on Dewiki about this? Crouch, Swale (talk) 13:08, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

Hallo Tine, Du darfst Dich gerne über die Seite Green nochmal ergänzend hermachen, wobei: Rot (Red) und Gelb (Yellow) hätten's nötiger, denn da sind bisher gar keine dieser farbigen Commons-Bilderbuchseiten, wenn Du magst, dann ist die Seite Colors auch für neue Seiten zu den farbigen Zwischentönen und Links dahin eine (für Commons) ganz gut besuchte Übersichtsseite, liebe Grüsse, LudwigSebastianMicheler (talk) 02:55, 6 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi Tine - rather than make individual species categories for subcategories of Category:Birds of the Shetland Islands - frequently the only region subcategory for the species involved - could you make (as is done for most other regional bird subcategories) family or genus subcategories, e.g. Category:Charadriidae of the Shetland Islands, Category:Larus of the Shetland Islands. This way it will cause a lot less disruption of the various species categories. Obviously there can be exceptions for the handful of species with huge numbers of files (e.g. Mute Swan). Thanks; I'll take that into account; I had noticed this effect of too much differentiation several times as well, but had followed the previous solution for now because the parent category had simply become too cluttered. I just looked through all the categories once; for most species there are "by country" categories, I will adjust these categories little by little accordingly and find solutions for the few others. Tine (talk) 17:11, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
