Getting help

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Moin! Kein Problem, das passiert allen irgendwann einmal. Du hast die Quelle ja schon nachgetragen. :-) Ich habe ein paar edits bei Hand gemacht und lasse gerade meinen Bot eine kurze Beschreibung einfuegen. Waere mit der Quelle auch kein Problem gewesen. Ist das erste mal das ich hier mitmache und so viele Datein hochlade. Habe jetzt auch ein Tool gefunden welches das recht zuverlässig macht. Über den Browser ist das nicht ganz so zuverlässig. Hallo Svema, vielen Dank für die Sportfotos, aber noch schöner wäre es, wenn Du die Bilder auch beschriften würdest. Du hast beim Spiel eine Mannschaftsaufstellung erhalten, jeder Spieler hat eine Kategorie, warum steht da als Beschriftung für jedes Bild das gleiche? Wenn Du Tipps brauchst, melde Dich gerne. Bei den Hymnenfotos wäre längere Brennweite (oder engerer Crop) IMHO besser gewesen, die Einzelportraits sind eigentlich immer am wichtigsten für die Artikelbebilderung. --Ailura (talk) 11:03, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Files without a license template[edit]

Hello. Per COM:L, all files uploaded must have a license template. You have a lot of recent uploads at Category:Media without a license: needs history check because they have a custom license. It looks like you meant to include them in a template but failed. Could you please fix this?

Dateinamen[edit]

Wie ich sehe, verwendest du immer ziemlich lange Dateinamen. Das ist jedoch unerwüncht, da dadurch die Übersichtlichkeit, besonders auf Mobilgeräten verloren geht. Außerdem solltset du keine "Wunschlizenzen" einfügen. Gib bitte deinen gewünschtenn Namen als "Autor" ein. @Honischboy: Sorry, dass ich mich hier einmische, aber – auch in eigenem Interesse – würde ich gerne wissen, wo festgeschrieben ist, dass lange Dateinamen unerwünscht sind. Auf Commons:File naming steht, dass Dateinamen „should be descriptive, chosen according to what the image displays or contents portray [and be] accurate, especially where scientific names, proper nouns, dates, etc. are used“. Das erfüllen die Dateinamen von Svema – so wie ich es beim kurzen Blick sah – definitiv. Sie verstoßen auch nicht gegen die Regel, dass Dateinamen „should not be pejorative, offensive or unnecessarily crude language, as such would not be appropriate in the file description“. Die Länge ist laut der verlinkten Seite auch überhaupt kein Problem, denn „File names may be up to 240 bytes long“. Also hierbei wäre alles fein, denn man File:2017293155352 2017-10-20 Fussball Frauen Deutschland vs Island - Sven - 1D X MK II - 0001 - B70I0622.jpg so erhält man bei der Auszählung des Dateinamens inkl. File:, .jpg und Leerzeichen 109 Zeichen (und das sind 109 Bytes) – nicht mal die Hälfte es Maximums.

Deinen Hinweis zum Thema „Wunschlizenz“ verstehe ich auch nicht wirklich. Der Urheber wird bei den Bildern von Svema klar und augenscheinlich korrekt angegeben, die Lizenzierung ist korrekt und wird mit dem Hinweisbaustein unterhalb der Lizenz sogar nochmals ausführlich beschrieben. – Wo siehst du also hier ein Problem? Dein Hinweis mit dem Drop-Down-Menü ist übrigens sehr wenig sinnvoll, da kaum einer der „Vielfotografen“ den UploadWizzard oder das Standardformular zum Hochladen von Bildern benutzt. Der VicuñaUploader oder das Lightroom-Plugin zum Upload auf Wikimedia Commons sind da deutlich gebräuchlicher und angenehmer zu Nutzen. Important message for file movers[edit]

A community discussion has been closed where the consensus was to grant all file movers the suppressredirect user right. This will allow file movers to not leave behind a redirect when moving files and instead automatically have the original file name deleted. Policy never requires you to suppress the redirect, suppression of redirects is entirely optional.

Possible acceptable uses of this ability:

To move recently uploaded files with an obvious error in the file name where that error would not be a reasonable redirect. For example: moving "Sheep in a tree.jpg" to "Squirrel in a tree.jpg" when the image does in fact depict a squirrel.
To perform file name swaps.
When the original file name contains vandalism. (File renaming criterion #5)

Please note, this ability should be used only in certain circumstances and only if you are absolutely sure that it is not going to break the display of the file on any project. Redirects should never be suppressed if the file is in use on any project. When in doubt, leave a redirect. If you forget to suppress the redirect in case of file name vandalism or you are not fully certain if the original file name is actually vandalism, leave a redirect and tag the redirect for speedy deletion per G2.

The malicious or reckless breaking of file links via the suppressredirect user right is considered an abuse of the file mover right and is grounds for immediate revocation of that right. This message serves as both a notice that you have this right and as an official warning. Hallo, Sven! Ich habe gerade gesehen, dass du sämtliche Fotos von den Auftritten z. B. von Emily Bear und Alexandra Arrieche bei Night of the Proms unter die Hauptkategorie Nigth of the Proms 2017 eingeordnet hast. Es wäre besser, Unterkategorien anzulegen: z. B. Alexandra Arrieche Night of the Proms 2017. Jetzt haben wir in Night of the Proms jeweils die Unterkategorie xy 2017 und die einzelnen Fotos nochmal. Ich habe einige aus der Hauptkategorie entfernt, allerdings sind das zu viele und ich habe leider nicht die Zeit, da weiterzumachen. It still has no parent categories, no indication of date of founding, nothing stating where the teams are located, and when it says, " an active German football player" it is not clear whether that means association football (soccer) or American football (which would also make sense in the context). Also, "celebrities" is almost meaningless other than the old joke about "famous for being famous": what is the nature of their celebrity? Plus you've written a quasi-article here without a single reference. The pictures speak for themselves that you didn't just make this up, but still, we need some external reference for something like this.
