File:Simple Montage of Nishapur.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Persian pronunciations[edit]

Dear Chyah,

I am sorry to say this to you, but your Persian pronunciations are extremely off from the native form. I understand that you are trying to make wikipedia better by adding them, but please refrain from adding pronunciations in a language you clearly are not a native of. Your pronunciations of "Hassan Rouhani", "Ali Khamenei" and "Ruhollah Khomeini" are all distinctly Arabic and not even similar to the normal Persian ones.

Warning sign
This media was probably deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:The Little Kiana of Nishapur.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:The Little Kiana of Nishapur.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Permissions[edit]

Continually, over a long period of time, you have uploaded images for which you clearly don't have the proper permissions. You need to stop doing that. It makes me, for one, doubt the validity of all of your uploads. If you continue to upload photos without proper permissions, I intend to call this to broader attention at COM:AN/U. - Jmabel ! talk 19:35, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jmabel: i just need to know more about copyright rules, i don't want be a outlaw user and i am here just for helping and improving. --Chyah (talk) 20:19, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, let's start with File:Yousef Saanei - by Ali Mahmoudi,Sanei.org.jpg. What (if anything) at http://saanei.xyz/pictures/gallery/pic/saanei-gallri-big-31.jpg (the source you linked) makes you think this has a cc-by-3.0 license (the license you claimed)? - Jmabel ! talk 23:26, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmabel: you right. but that website said its ok to use the pic if you remember the source. so, i choosed a creative commons license. if you email that website, they don't respond you well, the issue is "people don't know much about licenses". i just need complete articles in wikipedia, new and better pics needed there. --Chyah (talk) 06:49, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You can't ever offer a specific license for something where you don't own the copyright. The license has to be granted by the rights holder. Also, COM:SCOPE requires that, in order for the image to be on Commons, the license offered by the owner of the copyright must include (1) allowing commercial use and (2) allowing derivative works. (It's fine to require acknowledging the source.) You've been around here for years. This should not be new to you. - Jmabel ! talk 15:27, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmabel: also i uploaded thousands of free pics in public domain. i just need helps about licences like this one you said. i don't wanna be blocked, we can solve anything here. --Chyah (talk) 17:08, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • My strong suggestion is that you spend some time familiarizing yourself better with what does and does not qualify for public domain, and if an image is not your own and is not in the public domain, either the indicated source needs to clearly state the license or you need to indicate (in the Permissions portion of the Information template) a clear reason that license would apply. I have seen a lot of your images nominated for deletion, and while I haven't looked into every single one of those myself, I haven't seen a single case where the nominator was wrong and you were right. That suggests that you are uploading a lot of images without adequately checking the permissions, and thereby making a lot of unnecessary work for other people. - Jmabel ! talk 01:22, 10 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

about al-Behar[edit]

Hi user:Secondarywaltz! Finally i found a website that publish pictures under a creative commons, but now you nominate them for deletion. what is wrong?--Chyah (talk) 00:41, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Chyah: The Al-Behar website states in its footer, "Exclusive materials of Al-Behar is available under CC BY-NC-ND 3.0" which is not free and therefore these are not permitted in Commons. Secondarywaltz (talk) 00:44, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
why not? what is wrong with this license for commons? We can use them all pictures published under creative commons. --Chyah (talk) 00:48, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Chyah: Unfortunately Commons doesn't accept licenses with -ND (no derivatives) or -NC (no commercial uses) because they restrict the ability of people to reuse images. Green Giant (talk) 00:52, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
then, i will say to my grand-children to contribute in future here. yea, after one century most pics will be in Public domain. what you said made me so angry and i will leave Commons. it's one hour i am uploding via wizard, and now you hurted me. --Chyah (talk) 00:55, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
al-behar, in the "Terms of Use" said this " (Translated by google) : "All materials for the "Al-Bahhar Net" website are available under the Creative Commons License. Any use of the material without mentioning its source will expose its user to legal prosecution. And "Al Bahar Net" is a registered company and all its rights are reserved and protected under Lebanese media laws and intellectual property rights. Any transfer without mentioning the source, modification or modification of the private materials without the prior permission of the site management shall expose its carrier to legal prosecution."--Chyah (talk) 00:58, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
i think we can use pictures of al-behar. plz, i need more pictures for my articles, i am tired of seeing commons as a museum of picture for my region, most pics of middle east here is just about war and politics and history (seems we are not exist at all, just north america and west eu repected here), i am really tired. most websies don't know what is creative commons here, but i found al-behar. i got excited but soon you made me ruined. i think we should ping more user to talk about this issue. for now, stop nominating my uploads for deletion. --Chyah (talk) 01:04, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
do you can email the webmaster of Al-Behar to change to better copyright then we can use their pictures? --Chyah (talk) 01:22, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
if we can not use al-Behar pics, @Green Giant: , you should delete the template, category and all my uploaded files of al-Behar. --Chyah (talk) 19:56, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
i am sorry i just was angry. ok now i found that listenarabic.com publishing under a so nice license , i am uploading from that website, i made a template for it at all. i feel better know, i have a lot of pics for my intrested articles on wikipedia. so, there is no more issue and things going well. but i don't like users who don't talk to me and start deleting my pics just like that and nothing telling me. it's so bad ur uploads be deleted and u don't know they are deleted, just suddenly you got: oh ! where is my uploaded pics! it's a type of teasing users. --Chyah (talk) 07:20, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Chyah: I hate to break the bad news to you but I don't think listenarabic.com is the copyright holder of these photos. The License you mentioned only applies to their own work but not photos they've taken from somewhere else. Please stop uploading these photos until you have 100% guaranteed that each of your current uploads is not a copyright violation. For example File:Nelly Makdessy - Hasbaya concert - August 19, 2012.jpg is much smaller than the copy at maghrebspace.com. I would suggest you nominate these images for speedy deletion, but if it isn't done very soon I will delete them myself. I'm sorry if it seems harsh but having photos for articles is not the priority on Commons. Our priority is to avoid breaking copyright laws. Green Giant (talk) 08:30, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Green Giant: i nominated some. there is ways to got what pic is "exclusive" of listenarabic.com, not just by searching in tineye and google image (you know, sharing without mentioning the creator of file is "ok" in the East! looks that is why listenarabic mark so big in middle of pic). First it's based on Metadata of picture, second: did listenarabic.com published it first or the other websites? third: most exclusive pics of them are marked. etc. --Chyah (talk) 10:18, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Georgette Sayegh (1970s).jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

File:Mohammad Khatami-Hand-waving and Smiling.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not.

Thank you!

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Inas El-Degheidy - February 6, 2009.jpg, was missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. The file probably has been deleted. If you've got all required information, request undeletion providing this information and the link to the concerned file ([[:File:Inas El-Degheidy - February 6, 2009.jpg]]).

If you created the content yourself, enter {{Own}} as the source. If you did not add a licensing template, you must add one. You may use, for example, {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} or {{Cc-zero}} to release certain rights to your work.

If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!
