Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Italy does not mention it, it says everything where copyright expired is {{PD Old}}, and I am sure I have seen the discussions many years ago, but I do not have a direct link. Note that the template you added effectively means the image is not CC-BY-SA, it is CC-NC-SA, and is amenable for speedy deletion, as well as all other images of art in Italian museums. Reduce Protection[edit]

Hello, Hope you are doing well. Sorry to post on your talk page, I have posted a request at Admin Noticeboard but no one answered. Actually I have upload two logos to commons (File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-ks-1.svg) and (File:Wiktionary-logo-ks.svg) which are used as a logo for ks wikipedia and ks wiktionary respectively, so the files are protected. The local community at ks wikipedia and wiktionary have raised issues about the text size as it is a bit small. Now, I have created new .svg logos and increased the size and want to upload it. The problem is that I can not just unprotect these two files, I can only unprotect a bunch of logos. Let us do it like that. I am on Central Europ[ean time, UTC+02. I will protect the page now, and once you are ready to upload let me know, I will lift the protection to let you upload the files. Если бы это была Ваша загрузка, я бы переименовал, а так, на мой взгляд, файл не попадает под критерии переименования. @Ymblanter- Explanation for rest of the files- No. 12 and No. 13 should be deleted as they are out of scope as they pose no real educational content (before and after correction means nothing) and also no permission as there is no reason to trust the Own work

No. 11, 16 and and 20 are portraits of near famous people marked as Own work are some very well known examples of no permission deletion. There is no reason that images should be spared. I can't say about No. 14. You can leave that... BTW Thanks again for deleting these files. How we will see unregistered users[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

Why did you change the location category from Chobe, Botswana to Kruger Park, South Africa? I suspect that this elephant photo was taken in Chobe, Botswana. There is no policy that the name must be an official name of the house. This is my upload, and I choose the name. As soon as the name is reasonable (and it is because it contains the street), the file must not be renamed, certainly not against my objection. I am the creator of this file (File:WLW SheSaid puzzle logo.svg) that is urgently needed for the central notice banner about the drive. But because of your protection, I cannot upload an amended version for the banner as requested by the banner team? I don't want to upload a separate file as I feel this will cause more wrath on Commons ;-) ... any reasons for this protection action? Can you release the protection so I can upload, and then you can replace it if you are very worried about any abuse?

Hi. My name is Mihnea Crasnic and I built this page for my father Ioan Crasnic. Please note that my father is 94 years old so when he was in competitions, there was not internet etc. My father provided me with all those diplomas etc. I am not sure why you have deleted thos diplomas from his profile. All those diplomas are proof of his career ( trainer/coach, international referee,wrestling career etc.).

So , how do you think I can have website links when at that time there was no internet? Everything I uploaded there is real/correct info.Thank you for looking into this.

I was to slow to respond to your generouse offer to help me move deleted files to the Icelandic Wikipedia page. I've now gone through he painstaking task of going through CommonDelinker delete history in search of files that have been deleted because of freedom of panorama issues. It would be great if we could get these back to use in the articles where they were. Listed below:

I could use some Russian-language help[edit]

My Russian is minimal for reading and basically nonexistent for writing, and I could use some help. I have no idea whether User:Apryatin.Y knows any English; I also have no idea whether they monitor anything about their account, which Special:Contributions/Apryatin.Y they used entirely on one day to upload some rather interesting images, but whose copyright status is unclear. I believe that all the relevant photos are now in Category:Konstantin Viktorovich Apryatin.

I presume they are related to Konstantin Viktorovich Apryatin, the subject of these photos. I give little or no credence to the claim of "own work", but the uplpoader might well own some or all of the relevant copyrights. I suspect that a Russian-speaker has a lot better chance of sorting this out than I do.

About the two extra clicks on UploadWizard[edit]

Hey, I'm writing you about phab:T353654. The team has evaluated the ticket, and I see a possibility for it to be taken into consideration. To complete the evaluation of how much work would it be, though, we need some more information:

  • is it only those two options that need to be automatised, or are there more things that might need it?
  • what are the options in the UploadWizard that community might like to have as default in GlobalPreferences? (I'm not saying that there is the possibility to accomodate all requests, to be fair, but since we're at it...)
  • especially on the last question, can you help me collect eventually feedback from other users?
