your messages on my user site[edit]

Hi, I recieved 252 fotos by the author/photographer to upload them with CC by-sa licence on Commons. You informed me that something is probably wrong. The assistent link you posted only allows ONE photo per mail. I won't do this 252 times. Where can I tell somebody in charge that all the photos I uploaded by this author ARE under CC by-sa licence? --Jensbest (talk) 00:10, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, thanks for informing me of this. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or send an email with copy of a written permission to OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 00:13, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please remember to tell them all the images you want to confirm, and when you've sent the message, please add {{subst:OP}} to each image you're confirming. —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 00:15, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That is a totally laborious way which I will not do. I have 252 photos and I will not copy-paste each filename individually into an email. I have the permission by the photographer to upload the photos under CC by-sa 3.0 - where or with which tool can I do this in an efficient way? Thanks for your help. --Jensbest (talk) 00:22, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Bitte senden Sie die Erlaubnis für alle Dateien, können Sie Haufen sie alle in der Liste in einer E-Mail. —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 00:24, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, little bit complicated procedure, but I'll do it that way. Thanks. --Jensbest (talk) 00:39, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open![edit]

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.

Dear Oscitare,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

(c) Tagging[edit]

Aloha! Just noticed a few of your tags. E.g. File:Learn.png is a lousy logo, yes. Still, it is text only, without any color gradients or grafix. Have a peek @ Commons:Licensing#Simple_design. You can change the license of a file like that to pd-textlogo and add trademark if you think it might be trademarked. In general, the trademark tag doesn't hurt if it is added. Enuf barking! Cheers, C(_) --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 05:00, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know! I was concerned that, since the user claimed it was their own work, it wouldn't work like that; I'll remember this in the future. I also couldn't find the logo's origin apart from the page where I had linked in the copyvio. —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 05:07, 23 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
99.999% if mobile logo uploads claim own work. When it seems obvious to you, just correct the wrong entry and license. When in doubt, throw a speedy dr out. ;-) --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 01:48, 24 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
