Czech army rank insignia[edit]

Hi Skjoldbro, I think you should have uploaded the grey versions separately instead of overwriting the existing files. After all, olive-coloured dress uniforms did exist in the Czech army as you can see here: File:Petr Pavel 2012.JPG, File:Rozlouceni s vaclavem havlem vladislavsky sal 367.jpg, File:Rozlouceni s vaclavem havlem vladislavsky sal 214.jpg. So please consider reverting yourself and create new files for each of the grey insignia. De728631 (talk) 18:37, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo Skjoldbro,

Hi, Thanks for uploading Taiwan Marine Corps Insignia. But somethings need to be revised. Ranks of the officers OF-1a to OF-5 can be referred to here, and Generals can be referred to here. Rank OR-4 to OR-9 can be referred to here, and OR-1 to OR-3 can be referred to here. Thanks a lot.--Akira123 03:07, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Shoulder board insignia for the ranks of Commodore, Captain and Commander in the Royal Navy, as worn on the Ceremonial Day Coat[edit]

Hi Skjoldbro, was just wondering if you would be able to create svg versions of the gold shoulderboards of the above ranks, as worn by the Prince of Wales at his wedding (Commander) and the Duke of York at the anniversery celebrations for the Falklands War (Captain)

To clarify; the insignia are:

 • Commodore:Crown, crossed baton & sword and one star.
 • Captain: Crown, one star and a foul anchor.
 • Commander: a crown and a foul anchor.

Here is Royal Navy Commodore Jerry Kyd wearing his gold shoulderboards featuring the crossed baton, sword and one star:

http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/britains-commodore-jerry-kyd-stands-near-britains-royal-news-photo/454508120?#britains-commodore-jerry-kyd-stands-near-britains-royal-navy-flagship-picture-id454508120

Here is the gold shoulderboards for a Captain; as worn by the Duke of York at the Falklands War 25th commeration:

http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/license/74690422

Here are the gold shoulderboards for a Commander; as worn again by the Duke of York, at the funeral of the Queen Mother in 2002:

http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/the-royal-family-gather-at-westminster-abbey-for-the-news-photo/52109003?#the-royal-family-gather-at-westminster-abbey-for-the-funeral-of-the-picture-id52109003

Also; any chance of doing the shoulderboards for Royal Navy chaplains as well?

They can be seen here:

http://badges.wyedeanstores.com/chaplain-royal-navy-epaulette-shoulder-board-rank-badge

Note that any use of the Queen's cypher (EIIR) on the shoulderboards merely reflects that person's appointment as aide-de-camp or chaplain to the Queen, and is not a normal part of the shoulderboard otherwise.

Also; don't know if this remotely helps; but there is one for the Australian Navy Chaplains here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Royal_Australian_Navy_Chaplain_rank_slide.png

-The shoulderboards for the (British) Royal Navy are identical; minus the word 'AUSTRALIA'

Many, many, many thanks, JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 10:43, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Skjoldbro, was just wondering if you would be able to create images of the ranks within the ccf navy section, it is identical to the ranks worn by the Royal Navay Volunteer Reserve, please could you make gold shoulderboards and cuffs of the below ranks.

 • Commodore: one straight large bar and pentagon like circle
 • Captain: 4 wavy bars and pentagon like circle
 • Commander: 3 wavy bars and pentagon like circle
 • Lieutenant Commander: 2 wavy bars, with also small wavy bar in between and pentagon like circle
 • Lieutenant: 2 wavy bars and pentagon like circle
 • Sub-Lieutenant: 1 wavy bars and pentagon like circle
 • Midshipman: Purple Rectangle with Button.

These can be all seen on https://www.naval-history.net/WW2aaRN-PayTables00Ranks-Badges.htm

Many thanks SouthcottC — Preceding unsigned comment added by SouthcottC (talk • contribs) 19:10, 29 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

-which is identical to the rank insignia worn by officers in the Sea Cadet Corps; up to Commander. Note that the RNVR doesn't exist any more, but when it did, CCF (navy section) and SCC officers wore the rank insignia of the RNVR; as they were honorary officers in it. They continue to use this insignia, but are now honorary officers in the RNR.JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 08:24, 15 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We are missing high rank pictures in the Article for Soviet Uniforms 1943 - 1955[edit]

I think they changed them soo often, 1918 - 1935, 1935 - 1940, 1940 - 1943, 1943 - 1955, 1955 - 1992... omg^^

You have most pics, just a bit other (there are always different uniforms, maybe because of this?! If someone who has more plan than me, can we use your pics?

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dienstgrade_der_sowjetischen_Streitkr%C3%A4fte_1943%E2%80%931955#Marschall_bis_Generalissimus

You can see for yourself, I tried to directly put it to Marshall ranks, below there are missing pictures too in the sleeve (Ärmel) section.

No Offense, but the only quite okay Russian non ultra low budget Movie (supported by a Putin Ministry), the 9th Company, I look for the "Hauptmann" and his Uniform which has 2 stars vertical and 2 groups each 2 horizontal, but I can't find it... and he got black, means tank & artillery or something else, logistic or so? Than I landed in 43-55, as Afghanistan of course is 1988 in the movie, the 43-55 Captain (right rank already^^) here is closest I saw so far... maybe you know the movie, its dramazited, only 1 survivor, in fact many survived, in the movie the CIA trained troops kick the ass of the hill soldiers except one who is wounded and like "K.O." Whatever, maybe we can improve the article, its not very important but....

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. 4nn1l2 (talk) 09:45, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A little mistake with an argentine navy rank[edit]

Hi. You did an amazingly great job uploading the argentine naval insignias. But there is a little mistake in the rear-admiral rank insignia: the 2 stars should be placed a little more to the center, not over the edge. This picture will be useful as an example. I hope you can fix that little detail... could it be possible?. --Turkmenistan (talk) 07:53, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Emblem of the Republic of North Macedonia[edit]

Great job designing a vectorized version of the official emblem of the Republic of North Macedonia. I would like to just point out a small design flaw regarding the position of the rays of the sun in the middle. According to the official website of the Army, the sun's rays should be pointed perfectly vertically, horizontally, as well as diagonally. In your upload, the sun is slightly rotated to the right and does not depict the emblem as it is officially placed on the website Army of the Republic of North Macedonia

Mistake about the Presidential Standard of Peru[edit]

Thanks for your design, it is rigth, but there is a mistake about the description. There are two different symbols:

The Presidential Standard: It is a flag and has FOUR intis (suns) on each corner. It is used mostly in the official presidential vehicles.

The Command badge of the Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces and the National Police: It is a badge (a big pin to use on the chest) with FIVE suns given by the Armed Forces Joint Command to the President as symbol of his recognition as Supreme Chief after he has sworn to office.

Please correct that as soon as possible.

USSF Positional Colors[edit]

Hi, I appreciate you vectorizing the positional colors of the USSF. I just want to call to your attention, though, the proportion of the symbol on the center of the Flag of the Senior Enlisted Adviser, which, I think, is bigger than it's supposed to be. The video source actually shows that the delta does not overlap or reaches the same level as the top point of the two white stars on the flag.--AFLBulawan (talk) 13:03, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CAP/USAF flags[edit]

Thanks for adding the clean up version of the Civil Air Patrol flag and flag officer colors! One minor detail I saw to improve the CAP flag is that the current command emblem in the middle doesn't use the "U.S." marking in the middle. An example here (https://www.gocivilairpatrol.com/media/cms/R900_002_8A8354F4FD7C3.pdf) with a visualization of other CAP flags. I had also uploaded the flag of the USAF CMSAF but if possible it would be great if a vector version could be made to have it standardized with other military flags. CAP Officer Ranks[edit]

Hi. Thanks for improving the design on the Civil Air Patrol officer rank epaulettes! I've always wanted to made them but don't know how to do it. Stapo rank insignia[edit]

Hello, thanks for uploading the rank insignia for Stapo (en:Statspolitiet). It looks like your drawings are based on the photo in the English article of Wikipedia from Trondheim museum. However, the lighting of this photo seems to have distorted the original colors. As you can see on the other photo from the same museum (in the Norwegian version of the article), the piping of the insignia and the color of collar tags were actually green like in the German police and SD, and not black. I wonder if it would be possible to correct this? Regards, --Dmitri Lytov (talk) 00:41, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Skjoldbro: Hi!. Thank you for uploading the SLD 30 guidon. I changed the background though to make it look darker and closer to the actual gray in the photo, taking the color from the OCSO patch. I don't know how to work with svg, so I think I may have done something wrong with the new file because it ouputs differently than the original one. Anyway, it seems that design is the standard design for all U.S. Space Force deltas: used here [4] and here [5]. Hello, there is a mistake about the insignia of ottoman military ranks, in generals section. Because u used the same insignia with the senior officers (colonol, lt. col. and major) for example col. rank insignia has 3 stripes but general rank insignia must be 5 stripes i mean general ranks must be wider, thicker and bigger.

u can use this link and picture for your work:

USSF GO shoulderboards rotated[edit]

Hi! It seems the Space Force is slowly transitioning GO uniforms to the new uniform: Gen Thompson is now using it and I think I saw Lt Gen Armagno using it during Saltzman's change of responsibility ceremony. Would you be able to do shoulderboards for the rest of GO ranks and, if so, have a version that is rotated like this for GOs' promotion dates in their bios. Thank you! Russian Provisional Russian Navy[edit]

You make mistake in admirals rank insignia. In your drawing, all three stripes are the same width. In reality, the admirals have the lower braid width of 1, and the upper 3/4. (https://ic.pics.livejournal.com/lot1959/78260734/1121146/1121146_original.jpg) In addition, it would be good if you added insignia that do not have naval ranks. Chilean Army[edit]

Dear Skoljdbro, If you allow me, I have rotated the image that you have reverted to me because it is the position in which the original image is (which you can see here). I would appreciate it if you did not reverse my edition since I consider that the vectorized image should be the same as the original. FalconKight (int:Talkpagelinktext) 17:27, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Re The reason that I have uploaded it this way, is to follow the official source. The orientation of PNG images have no effect on this. If you want to use upright images use this or upload a new one with that orientation. Stop rotating these images. Skjoldbro (int:Talkpagelinktext) 17:36, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The correct order of shoulders of generals of Chilean Army is that I reverted, the other order is wrong. Is curious this that you told me about the official source, because exist many files of shoulders of many armies, and not have the rotation in the articles that you told me that is according of the official source, and this source don't exist more in the official site of Chilean Army.--Patodonald1818 (int:Talkpagelinktext) 18:27, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Template:Re Are you saying the official website is wrong? Because you are right it is curious that people keep insisting to rotate the images in the wrong direction or simply refusing to use the other images with the upright placement. Skjoldbro (int:Talkpagelinktext) 18:32, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, because the order of shoulders not is the correct, and this "official source" don't exist more, in fact is a version that was archived.
For example, in this picture you can see the correct order of shoulders of generals of Chilean Army:
https://cloudfront-us-east-1.images.arcpublishing.com/infobae/NJU44JQSDRAWLOFMHVCIMBX4C4.jpg Patodonald1818 (int:Talkpagelinktext) 18:40, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know, this is same orientation as the official website and the one that the images currently have. What is your argument? Skjoldbro (int:Talkpagelinktext) 18:43, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The argument is that check you the pictures of uniforms of Chileans generals of Army and Carabineros, and see you that not have this rotation. The confusion come, because in the past the official site of Chilean Army wanted put the shoulders of generals with this representation for distinguish of the rest of images of ranks, but was something simply aesthetic, don't meaning that this is the correct order of shoulders, and I understand that is confuse, because the old version of website archived created this confusion.
Other picture of Chilean Generals of Chilean Army with the real order of shoulders:
https://dialogo-americas.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/CHL-Army-Commander.png Patodonald1818 (int:Talkpagelinktext) 18:58, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not understanding how you can say this. The image you just showed me has the same orientation as the ones I uploaded, and the official website. If you are making the argument that the ranks should be oriented as, seen from the front, then ALL rank images on wiki are uploaded wrong. Additionally, if you are arguing that my images have the wrong orientation, then these images also have wrong orientation. Because as you just noted, and per official website, the orientation of the General insignia and the insignia of other officers are not the same. As seen here. It is 100% clear for everyone, that the two images have two different orientations, and if Brigadier have upright orientation, then it is only logical that generals are horizontal. There is no argument to be made otherwise. Skjoldbro (int:Talkpagelinktext) 19:09, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And for rotate the shoulders of generals of Carabineros what your argument?
The official source not have the shoulders of generals with the rotation that you uploaded:
https://www.carabineros.cl/secciones/gradosInstitucionales/phone/index.html Patodonald1818 (int:Talkpagelinktext) 19:40, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Template:Re Can't access your link, but it is clearly the same. No one can argue that general insignia and other officer have the same orientation. As such the generals for army and Carabineros both have horizontal rank insignia, while other officers have upright insignia. Space Force officer rank color correction[edit]

So it looks like the Space Force service dress is actually a midnight blue instead of a pure black. Right now it looks like the Space Force rank insignia for officers here is pure black, but the enlisted rank is actually a midnight blue. Removing the letter A[edit]

As an IP user pointed out at en:Talk:Czech Air Force#Misspelling in the flag, there's a letter ‘A’ too many in File:Flag of the Czech Air Force.svg. I tried to correct it, and encountered several layers of difficulty, mostly because the text is not text but some strange mix of paths (involving path7377. The SVG file also does contain the text, but changing that has no effect.) If there is a way how to fix that that doesn't take too much of your time, i would like to learn it. Otherwise, could you please fix it? ◅ Sebastian Helm 🗨 20:27, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
