This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:The Music Room by James Abbott McNeill Whistler.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

And also:

Yours sincerely, Xunks (talk) 04:17, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

All the files were kept and most were licensed anyway. You deliberate tagging of FOP and else licensed files and your refusal to respond in the discussions you are mentioned and pinged in is a bit disappointing. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 02:19, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
Well some were apparently not kept. I'll go check. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 12:13, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
I find it disappointing that 8 months later, you have refused to repair your licensing issues. I've gone through your uploads to repair the licensing issues as I found them. I'm going to bring this case to the Copyright noticeboard. Thanks. Elizium23 (talk) 12:54, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Report me, I'll be happy top clear this up. Those are I believe most new uploads and I believe most were repaired. Several actually even counted with a license as noted above. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 13:32, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Here is the discussion where Xunks was pinged at the Village pump Copyrights section. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 02:09, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

Autopatroller

Hi, I gave you the Autopatroller right. Yann (talk) 22:05, 10 May 2023 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for the trust. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 22:27, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
File:Regenta Valide Handan Sultan.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Withdrawing speedy deletion tags and deletion nominations

Hi, I noticed that you added and then removed {{No permission since}} tags for three files uploaded by Reginald gray. Please add a note to User talk:Reginald gray to say that the requests for permission have been withdrawn. The user is deceased (see w:en:User:Reginald gray), but his family may be monitoring the account. Also, if you withdraw a non-speedy deletion you should add a note to the deletion request page, as well as informing the user on their talk page, see Commons:Deletion requests/File:Doina with waiscoat.jpg. Thanks, Verbcatcher (talk) 22:41, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

Thanks, I have mentioned at the Reginald Gray talk page that the edits have been undone. But I assume that the files be nominated for deletion or no permission tagged again if no VRT ticket is added to them. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 00:05, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Your DRs on interiors of Swiss Churches

Hi!

I've seen that you created many deletion requests on the interior of Swiss churches. Please slow this process down until at least some of those DRs have been decided, so we're not needlessly binding resources. The sentence "Following the majority view in the legal literature, freedom of panorama does not apply to interior spaces" on Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Switzerland is not legaly binding and, given the fact that even there opposing views are quoted, this is not certain. It would be best if you could quote a recent federal court decision on the matter to clarify the meaning of the law. PaterMcFly (talk) 11:26, 27 October 2023 (UTC)

I have nominated several interiors and artworks of authors alive for deletion and until now the very vast majority was successful. So I believed my rational seems to work. Only recently some concerns come. Surprisingly for rather new buildings. On churches you also forget It is generally held that the interior of a church cannot be depicted under Article 27.
But I can follow your concern that we'd be binding to many forces and I won't nominate new ones until some are decided. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 11:49, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. That's what I meant: I am unaware of a court decision on this subject, so there's no clear indication on how "public place" is to be interpreted. And there are countries where FOP applies to indoor as well (eg. UK, Austria), so even in Europe there's no common understanding of this term. PaterMcFly (talk) 11:00, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Until now all I nominated for deletion, such as here, or here were deleted. A few files were kept, such as those, where the vast majority would probably not find out what is depicted on them and I also agreed to that those can stay on commons. I also found older successful DRs on interiors of churches where the copyright has not expired yet, such as here, here or here. I believe I was just doing what others were doing as well.
But I can follow your reasoning a bit, and in the future I would not nominate for deletion only based on that FOP Switzerland does not cover interior spaces. I'll still use it as an additional argument, but i'd primarily nominate for deletion due to the files being produced from a place not permanently public and only in the second place add that according to the majority view of the legal literature FOP Switzerland does not apply to interior space.

Yeah, but I have found a book that says otherwise. Any works in interior spaces are not within FoP also if they are accessible to the public.[18]p.158. I believe it is a good book, its of a law publisher and the book focuses on Swiss Cultural law. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 13:47, 24 November 2023 (UTC)

Files of TBMM speeches

Hi Zafer, I believe all files you removed from the Turkish WP are already nominated for deletion, but no-one deletes them. Some were also uploaded by me, but I came to the conclusion that files of TBMM speeches are not free enough for commons. They'd be free to reuse for means of information, but not for artistic or satiric means. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 20:35, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi Paradise Chronicle, i am working many years about copyrights law in Turkey, unfortunately TBMM videos or photos are not freely use. Regards, Zafer (talk) 20:39, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

FOP category

Thanks for your work on categorizing FOP related DRs. However, please remember to add <noinclude></noinclude> so that the daily DR page would not appear in the corresponding FOP category. Have a nice day. A1Cafel (talk) 15:52, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Hey @A1Cafel, yeah I have been trying to help. But why do we need to add the <noinclude></noinclude>? And if we have to add it, is there a category where the <noinclude></noinclude> already included? 18:01, 28 December 2023 (UTC)18:01, 28 December 2023 (UTC)~ Paradise Chronicle (talk) 18:01, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
I have mentioned before, adding <noinclude></noinclude> is to avoid double counting of the number of DRs in the maintenance category. Apart from {{Nsdr}}, all the other categories need <noinclude></noinclude>, thanks. --A1Cafel (talk) 03:35, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
I am not sure I was told so before, but ok, got it. All categories need non include except {{Nsdr}}. I am used to work with visual mode and the hot cat gadget, and then only the normal categories appear. How about creating a {{Hiddencat}} or similar for FOP cases where the is already a part of it? Paradise Chronicle (talk) 04:42, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
I have begun a discussion about if there is a way how to add the category in one go with hot cat at the Village Pump. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 05:32, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
