File naming (discussion of 2010)

Hi Multichill, thanks for your bot, that's a great help. But I still have a question regarding Commons:File naming. This proposed guideline is mentioned to be under discussion since 2010, and you started the discussion. The text of the guideline has evolved since the discussion began, and it's still only a proposed guideline not an official guideline. Its also not really harmonious with Commons:File renaming which already is an official guideline, so uploaders can oppose a rename of a file name that does not describe the content of the file. I found an uploader who prefers a date, the uploaders name and ambigious numbers and this also ok, but then this should be mentioned. Currently the proposed guideline says Names should be descriptive, chosen according to what the image displays or contents portray. Now some files can get more descriptive filenames and others not as File renaming also says, the uploaders requests can be respected. This is not really necessary, but of course if the rules would be clear from the outset, many discussions wouldn't even start. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 22:20, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Files with hidden categories only

Hi Multichill! Would it be possible to use your bot to scan Category:Flickr images reviewed by FlickreviewR 2 for files/images that only contain hidden categories, and tag them with {{subst:unc}}? There seemes to be a lot of them… Anders (talk) 20:31, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Structured data for new Wikidata entries

Hi Multichill,

I've created a Wikidata entry for the Ricoh GR III camera ([1]), and added the missing 'Exif make' statement to the Sigma DP2 Merrill entry ([2]), in hopes that the BotMultichillT would pick them up and add the respective 'capture with' property to photographs taken with these cameras (e.g., [3], [4]). Hi, sorry, I don't speak English, Nederlands (but I really like listening Shocking Blue - Mariska Veres! Margriet Esruijs or the sisters of the Pussycat...), français or Deutsche... (mein Großvater wäre traurig!)

So... Your bot use here the date of 1969-12-31... My birthday is 1966-12-31; Does this date have any connection with my birth date?

The bot takes the date from your upload. I have no idea why your upload via Commons:Mobile app used that date. I changed both to 11. September 2023, 17:46. HenkvD (talk)
