Hi Krd, genau beobachtet. :) Abseits davon: Bei erster, stichprobenartigen Durchsicht von User:Krdbot/af69/2016 ist mir aufgegfallen, dass einige Dateien mit OTRS-papperl abgeleitet Werke sind, wo die Quelldatei ok sein dürften. Frage: Ist möglich via bot jene Fälle auszusortieren, wo abgeleitete Werke vorliegen und das OTRS-tag mit übernommen wurde?--Wdwd (talk) 13:18, 6 January 2017 (UTC) Nachtrag: Sind vorallem mit "(cropped)" markierten Dateien, z.b. Pictures uploaded by Délie Duparc

Hi Krd,
I am related to Délie Duparc, and I helped her uploading the pictures on january 2nd and 5th. She is not used to Wikimedia, and this is why I had to help her ; I am afraid she won't answer you, because I am no longer at her side to assist her. However, I am in touch with her, and I can communicate any message to her.
You sent her a message for each of those pictures, saying that image permission is missing. As I said, I helped her uploading the pictures, and I know that she sent an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org generated using the automated procedure for each file. Those emails have been sent immediately after uploading each file.
Could you please check that those emails have been received? It would be a pity to suppress those files just because the emails have not been aknowledged.

Hello Polypone. Email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org get an automated receipt confirmation in any case, if there wasn't any, something likely failed. The sender should also watch out for followup questions. The backlog is currently around 50 days, and I don't process any tickets out of sequence on request. Sorry. Following up on Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/Patchy34

Hi, I know you recently closed the Checkuser for Patchy34, but I'm wondering if Tomkiysta (talk · contribs) is also connected. File:Antony Cheng 2016.jpg by Tomkiysta and File:Cheng performing at an ice show 2015.jpg by Patchy34 are both taken on the same Nikon model, and File:Antony, 2013.jpg by Patchy34 and en:File:Antony Cheng, Canadian single figure skater.jpg by Tomkista are taken with the VSCO app on iPod touch. That seems like too much of a coincidence. But the CheckUser on en-wiki says Tomkiysta is unrelated to the other sockpuppets, so I wasn't sure if it was worth starting another request... Seltsamer Effekt beim Umbenennen

Hi Krd, ich brauche Deinen Rat bzw. Hilfe. Ich habe Dateien aus der Category:Media requiring renaming nach Prüfung unserer Kriterien umbenannt. Dort liegen derzeit ein Haufen OGG-Dateien, die als Komplett-Set nach einem bestimmten Muster (Renaming Criterion #4) umbenannt werden sollen. Ich habe damit angefangen, bis mir auffiel, dass ich die Dateiendung ändere. Aus

Ich habe dann versucht, File:Gsw-oberelsässisch (Zìllesa)-'s Brot.oga nach File:Gsw-oberelsässisch (Zìllesa)-'s Brot.ogg zu verschieben, woraufhin ich die Fehlermeldung erhielt, dass es die Datei schon gibt. Die Umbenennungsanträge sind korrekt, siehe zum Beispiel File:Wasser.ogg. Alle schon umbenannten Dateien liegen in Category:Oberelsässisch pronunciation of Zillisheim. Hallo Krd, kannst du dir einmal den Urheber von File:Österreichisches Filmmuseum.jpg und w:File:OEFM ApichatpongWeerasethakul, 2011 SabineMaierhofer.jpg anschauen. Beide sind von User:Sabine Eppendorfer-Ockler hochgeladen aber teilweise mit Sabine Maierhofer überschrieben - ist das okay so. Da ist ja noch File:Logo Austrian Film Museum.jpg dabei, das auch von stammt aber mit OTRS ist. Your Krdbot deleted the file: file:Terracotta vase fragment with relief of Minerva.jpg

It deleted the image, giving the reason that the image is a "violação dos direitos de autor porque os direitos estão protegidos e a obra não foi publicada com uma licença livre.". Your robot failed to clicked the link, and obviously failed to see underneath of the picture a big 0 (zero), showing "No Copyright".

Please tell your bot that the fact the owner of the image agrred that "The person who associated a work with this deed has dedicated the work to the public domain by waiving all of his or her rights to the work worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights, to the extent allowed by law." and the onwer of the picture also said: "You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission." , that means that there is NO "violação dos direitos de autor". Be so kind as to tell your bot to restore the my image contribution with the same speediness that it deleted....or, of course, explain can be possible a "No Copyright" image can be a "violação dos direitos de autor"? Dear Krd - I'm messaging you with regard to the RAMC images nominated for deletion. I have to admit, I got a bit overloaded with work and didn't manage to keep up with the discussion as I should, so my sincere apologies for coming back on this discussion after you had closed it.

The images were uploaded in error by the Wellcome, with a licence that they should never have had, and so mostly they need removing - there may also be a few other images for which this is the case. I'm messaging you because the deletion discussion appears to have become a little heated, and so I'd like to particularly ensure I help the Wellcome to do things properly from now to rectify the situation. It seems that what is required from here is for someone at Wellcome who deals with image rights needs to send an email to OTRS (should this email cite ticket:2016090610022455, or should we begin afresh?) and explicitly explain that the image-rights-holder did not agree to CC-BY licensing, but this was not properly noted on the Wellcome system at the time and therefore Wellcome permitted the images to be uploaded in error, with no fault on the part of the rights-holder. Is there any other information or explanation that should be provided in an OTRS message? Many thanks in advance for any help / advice that you can provide!

Hi Alice. I don't think any additional e-mail to OTRS is required here, we'd more need to re-nominate those images for deletion, i.e. another iteration of Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Wellcome DR request for RAMC.
If you ask me personally, I also support that the license is not revokable. If the conclusion is that the license was issued by mistake, for 700+ files uploaded in 2014, I'd say we have to question if the license issuer is trustworthy at all, if we can accept additional uploads from that source and if we have to review other files from this source. A lot of trouble, a lot of work, which I either don't have any capacity for at the moment. Sorry. --Krd 08:18, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
Hi Krd, thanks for your reply - I didn't get a ping so I've only just seen it! I know that 700 files sounds like a large number, but as a proportion of the 97,500+ uploaded at the time, it's less than 1%, so I think it needs to be kept in the context of the huge amount contributed - I wonder if most contributors' margin of error is less than 1%? It was Wellcome's error, but the rights do not belong to Wellcome, so I think as with Flickr images put on Commons in error some consideration needs to be given to the rights-holders, who were not actually involved and made no error for which they should be penalised. I appreciate that you are busy and therefore unable to help me further with this, so could you please advise someone who I can get help from to take this forward? Thanks in advance. From the link you provided, I just pick Template:DmitryRyazanov. I remember; I too processed this type of permission. But upon close inspection (some assumptions as I'm not in OTRS now), I feel a loop hole. Of course not. These are the things that actually are a bit broken, and shall be addressed as some as all higher level problems are cleared and we have time to look at. The same could happen with user verification or other web-sourced-there-under-cc files, one can always claim it never was there. There are also other way for creating revokeable licenses, which for obvious reason I'm not going to explain here. --Krd 11:34, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

OTRS resignation

Hi Krd. I don't think I new what I was getting into when I signed up for OTRS. I couldn't imagine something more confusing and maze-like, and less enjoyable than OTRS, and I can understand a bit better why there's such a backlog. The OTRS interface is really not user-friendly. Please remove my OTRS membership or tell me what I have to do to resign OTRS and continue with my admin work, which is much simpler and more enjoyable. Thanks, and sorry for wasting your time. Image file deletion query

I recently had the file File:Elis James and John Robins on Radio X.jpg deleted (similar to this one [1]) which was a promotional picture of 2 radio station dj's. I uploaded the file as it was from the same promotion range and the file used on the Chris Moyles wiki page from the same radio station Chris Moyles Radio Show. My question is how can I upload a similar picture from John & Elis without infringing copyright? Or is the image on the Chris Moyles page copyright also? Itchybowwow (talk) 19:04, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Can I don't replace usages of renamed files?

I renamed one file for test and its usages (2 ones) wasn't renamed by bot ([2]), but they still work through redirect. Can I don't replace usages, or I should post requests for replacing? MBH (talk) 02:10, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

This was triggered by Commons:Requests for checkuser/Case/A3cb1, and I'm going to delete all uploads of them because this is a long term abuser, and even the claims that look plausible are often untrue.     The user behind the sock farm is known to make false claims about creator, date of creation, etc. It is impossible to review all files manually, so deletion is the only option. Verständnisfrage

Hallo Krd, ich verstehe gerade die Welt nicht mehr. Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich diese Fotografie hochgeladen: File:Martin Baresch 2015.jpg, die den Schriftsteller Martin Baresch zeigt. Das Foto selbst wurde von D. Adamzyk aufgenommen, die damals auch ihr Einverständnis an das OTRS-Team mailte. Später erfuhr ich aber, dass das Foto durch einen Dritten weiterbearbeitet wurde (die Sternbilder drübergelegt). Dieser Dritte hatte das bearbeitete Bild nicht unter freie Lizenz gestellt. Und dieser Dritte hat nun sein Einverständnis für eine Veröffentlichung dieser Bildversion gegenüber Martin Baresch bzw. D. Adamzyk zurückgezogen. Deshalb war ich davon ausgegangen, dass hier ein URV-Problem vorliegt und habe die Löschung des Bildes beantragt. D. Adamzyk gab ihrerseits eine entsprechende Erklärung ggü. OTRS ab. Nun wurde das Bild aber dennoch behalten. Diese Behaltensentscheidung müsste doch fehlerhaft sein oder mache ich da jetzt einen Denkfehler? Long term retention of CU records for INC/DL

Hi. It is my opinion that if you have determined that there is sufficient evidence for a CU of this person, that there is the need for retention of such details. If you do, I ask that there be a long term record, and one that is coordinated crosswiki, to identify all possible socks of this person. We know that they will exist, and he will wish to have rights again. I do not ask that they are all necessarily publicly identified, nor that there is a definitive reply to this request. @Billinghurst: I am aware that the community can create SPI records, and any other evidence that may be published as part of reliable analysis of sock accounts, but I am not familiar with how CU records themselves may be retained indefinitely. My prior understanding of WMF policy is that this does not happen and the default of 3 months is enforced, even to WMF employees and the WMF legal team and those that have contravened this policy have had rights removed. Could you point me to the policy that makes it clear in which circumstances CU records may be retained for more than 3 months, based on decisions made by volunteers rather than to comply with a subpoena? @Billinghurst and Krd: Reflecting on this further, if there is no reply or correction, my assumption will remain that the intention is to keep checkuser records for INC/DL for an indefinite period. I'll not pursue this here, but after a day or two I'll be likely to raise this as a public case study in another place. My interest is based on my personal experience of WMF legal rejecting my good faith request for CU records to be retained for a police investigation, and I would be surprised if the approach to records retention has changed in the years since then, as the relevant law has not changed. Plethora of spambots ... CU?

Hi. In the past 24 hours we have had a bombardment of spambot activity, much against blacklisted urls fortunately, Special:log/block/billinghurst. It would be useful to see if we have everywhere IPs or from IP blocks. With regard to IP blocks, the continued blocking of IP spam is continuing to find some smaller blocks of IP addresses and blocking those for extended periods after checking that they are free of good edits.  — billinghurst sDrewth 08:04, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

I checked only a few at random, and although the data is not representative I'd guess we don't see much pattern here and manual checking of all of them is beyond what is reasonable. It would be a good occasion to continue development of automated checks and range data gathering, if there was more available spare time. The file is from a reputable source and the license is cc-by ... and why it was not flagged up at least for discussion? Hi, Thanks for checking the copy write status of this. I did say when uploading it that I wasn't sure what the status of it was. I can find nothing on www.Ceredgion.gov.uk to indicate that it either is or isn't copywritted. Could you help me, rather than just delete it? Umbenennung von Fotos einer ganzen Category

Hallo Krd, sag eine Frage: Kannst du oder kann man Fotos einer ganzen Kategorie auf einmal umbenennen. Mir ist nämlich da ein Missgeschick passiert in der Category:Fahrzeugsegnung 2015 Altmünster- die Fotos sollten alle 2015 und nicht 2017 heißen. Eingebunden sind sie nirgends, sodass die redirects auch nihct notwendig sind. --danke im Voraus - gerade für diese Änderungen bekommen ich eine Dankemitteilung für die 100.000 Bearbeitung ;-) - für so einen Unsinn --K@rl (talk) 10:17, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Hallo Krd, wie gehe ich da am besten vor, da ich die gesamte Kategorie zum Löschen sehe? Die Fotos in der Kategorie scheinen alle aus einer Festschrift zu sein und stammen sicher nicht von 2012 - Außerdem ist die Qualität ja nicht unbedingt das erstrebenswerte - von Persönlichkeitsrechten abgesehen. L'inversion des chiffres 4 et 5 a été rectifiée en renommant ledit fichier ainsi que quelques autres versés par Bastien marie-françoise. En revanche, il y a un véritable travail de catégorisation et de géolocalisation des fichiers versés par cette contributrice ainsi que par Bastien.pierre (sans doute son conjoint). OTRS followup

Hi,

You handled OTRS ticket 2017121910000697, relating to File:Total Solar Eclipse 8-21-17.jpg. The OTRS email came after I contacted the creator offline to verify it was his account and walk him through the OTRS email. It sounds like he only included that one image (there's not an intuitive way to list more than one image in the automated release generator tool, as I recall), but intended for the license to apply to all of his uploads, as far as I understand (they've all -- or most -- been published elsewhere before being uploaded here). I've suggested responding to the OTRS email, retaining the ticket#, and saying that. Video on gluten ataxia

I wonder why you deleted this video: File:Ataxia por gluten.ogg. I sent the documentation to prove the rights to permissions-en@wikimedia.org on 20 June 2017 and I am waiting for a reply.

I talked about this with administrator Cookie and she said to me that it's normal they take time to review it because they are few persons and have a lot of work.

What should I do to recover it?

Hallo Krd, nachdem ich gerade bei diesem Foto die fehlende Genehmigung des Urhebers markiert habe, und die automatisch auf der Nutzerdisk eingetragene Benachrichtigung kontrollieren wollte, ist mir aufgefallen, dass Du dieses Foto vor 2 Wochen auch schon entsprechend markiert hattest. Es wurde dann vor ein paar Tagen auch folgerichtig gelöscht. Nun hat er es wohl unter fast identischem Namen (.jpg statt .JPG) einfach erneut hochgeladen. Wenn ich mir seine Disk so ansehe, gab es ja auch schon entsprechende Warnungen wegen fortwährender URVen. Could you verify whether User:Footsmudge is Emily Beecham?

Hi. You placed the OTRS verification tag on File:Emily Beecham at The British Independent Film Awards 2017.jpg. On the EN article talk page, the uploader, User:Footsmudge, is saying they are Emily Beecham, in arguing for a specific image on their article. Could you please verify whether the OTRS correspondence confirms they are Emily Beecham? Because it will probably make a big difference. Generally the permission for file comes from the copyright holder of these files, not any depicted subject. The OTRS confidentiality rules don't allow me to answer your question, though. And I have to admin that I'm not very familiar with enwiki article rules, but the subject having authority about which image to use appears a bit astonishing to me. I'd suggest to use the best image we have. (And if you asked me, that would be the image that is currently used.) --Krd 19:38, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
The subjects don't have authority, but if you read the discussion carefully, you'll see they are claiming the previous picture displays them afflicted by an allergy or immune disorder, which would be a bit harsh to demand serve as their main image. --GRuban (talk) 20:12, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
I'm of different opinion. This is no paparazzi photo but one taken when posing in front of a photo wall at an official event. I cannot set any kind of misrepresentation.
Anyway, as said, I'm unable to disclose anything you are requesting at the current state. The person is free to send anything to OTRS, info-en@wikimedia.org, and we'll see what can be done.
