Hello, Jpcuvelier!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Bonjour,

Bonne continuation.--Bertrand GRONDIN (talk) 08:55, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

--Jpcuvelier (talk) 16:40, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The second image represents the side of the house described, it helps to better understand the "Object" on the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_protected_heritage_sites_in_Tournai. This second photo has not been downloaded from any website. This is its first download here. It is attached to the 1st photo also taken by myself, but this 1st photo was separately uploaded to Commons. Both pictures are from my own work. I can download the second photo separately on Commons to prove, in view of the metadata, that the camera references are the same ( sony DSC-RX100M2), even if I currently also use a Canon.

Amicalement,

--Arflhn (talk) 15:57, 15 October 2020 (UTC) [reply]

    • Category:Tram transport in Lille, Roubaix and Tourcoing
    • Category:Ancien tramway de Roubaix Tourcoing

Et classées :

    • Category:TRT 300 type tram

    • Category:Tram line A Roubaix - Tourcoing
    • Category:TRT A type tram
    • Category:Tram line N Tourcoing - Mouvaux
    • Category:Roubaix Tourcoing tram network unidentified lines
For the full description and linked categories, see this file :

English | français | македонски | português do Brasil | +/−

See the following file for the recto-verso version of the postcard:

English  français

File:131. Lillle — Le beffroi – La Noble Tour – L'église Saint Sauveur - vº- rº.jpg

@Jpcuvelier: since you were the uploader, I was wondering where the MARKEN — Ansichtkaart 1920 — carte postale traditionnelle ; un peu image d' Épinal" de la Hollande à une époque originates from. This is a text in French, referring to a person named "Eva" writing from Guînes (13 May 1914) to "Marie" at 56, Route de Boulogne, Fort Nieulay (Le Fort Nieulayà (Calais). Thank you for your time. Lotje (talk) 10:09, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

* ( Épinal print) →https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Épinal_print
Hello, I will try to answer you on the subject of the postcard Marken and on the mail between Éva and Marie Deloffe-Cousin. not knowing at first sight if I understood well your question
"Image d'Épinal" is a particular kind of drawing*, ancestor in certain aspects of the comic strip of today. It is a very colourful image. These images were printed in ÉPINAL (in the Vosges, France), hence the name. The subjects dealt with were historical, religious, moralist stories
These images inspire a certain nostalgia for the past.
Also in the FIGURED MEANING, an epinal image designates an idea or a concept considered outdated; which no longer reflects the current situation.
The inhabitants of Warken, where I have been three times, no longer wear clogs, no longer wear long dresses. However, bankruptcies, embroidery are sold to tourists decorated as if we were still in another era
.which no longer represents reality. But the village is idealized in this way
When one writes "Paris 'Ville Lumière'" one can say that it is an "image d'Épinal", one always repeats the same things; the thing is not verifiable it is a glory of junk!
When they say that the Champs Elysées avenue in Paris is the most beautiful avenue in the world, it's an "image d'Epinal", it's a cheap glory.
what the inhabitants of Warken experience (I've been there three times)
The postcard was certainly not bought in the Netherlands, it could easily be found in the north of France, by buying chocolate at the Belgian border for example, the image was given in addition as one does now when going to fetch tobacco in Belgium, the trader offering the lighter.
It could be given to a 'wise' child as a reward, it could be offered by the shopkeeper when buying chocolate at the Belgian border where I lived in the 1960s→ [[:en:clef de Hollande... & Clef de Hollande
