When categorising files, please avoid placing them into several categories that are directly linked within the same tree (e.g. a parent category and a child category – like Category:United Kingdom and Category:London), to prevent over-categorization of files and over-population of categories. Usually, only the most specific category should be used. See Commons:Categories for more details. Thank you.

Hello, Josephus37 : ) Thanks for sharing your photographs!
As above, per official policy com:overcat: Please do not upload files with categories such as Category:Kanagawa prefecture, or Category:Japan anymore, and let someone else take care again and again, but please upload with only specific categories, such as Category:Aircraft at Naval Air Facility Atsugi.
While I am not personally interested in military, I have checked categories, just for examples, such as:

(I have noticed that Category:Kanagawa prefecture itself is currently also being com:overcat error, as well as other prefectures of Japan. I am on the way solving them with prefecture-templates)

For further instructions, please see also com:cat#Categorization tips in the official policy.
Thank you for your time. Sincerely--Tokorokoko (talk) 03:27, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

North American F-86F Sabre (02-7960) at Kawaguchiko Motor Museum, Yamanashi prefecture, Japan.jpg[edit]

7962? Are you sure? Reads like 7980 to me. --Gereon K. (talk) 13:59, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, according to [2] it has in fact been painted with a different F-86's livery for display purposes. This is actually 02-7962 dressed up to look like a Blue Impulse aerobatic team aircraft; the real 02-7960 is on display inside the JASDF Air Park at Hamamatsu AB, Shizuoka Prefecture--Josephus37 (talk) 23:29, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there is no reason to blank this page. The gallery page is allowed to exist and this one is in line with the guidelines. Jcb (talk) 12:48, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The reason I blanked the page is because searches done in Wikipedia commons bring up that page, rather than the category page. My thinking is that it is better that searches go to a page with all of the relevant images, instead of an extra page with four random images.--Josephus37 (talk) 12:57, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If you disagree with the system, you may try to change the system. But you will not achieve that by sabotage of individual pages. Jcb (talk) 13:05, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

File:Tokyo grave of Hiroaki Aoki.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
