Graphic Lab[edit]

This notice is to inform you that the formal Commons:Graphic Lab School/Images to improve page has been split into three workshops (as in the English Wikipedia): Illustration workshop, Map workshop, and Photography workshop. You have received this message because you have the {{User Wikigraphist}} userbox, or because you are an active participant of the Graphic Lab. If you would like to continue to request or improve, you may do so in your preferred workshop. Note that the formal page should not receive further requests and current discussions should be closed soon. Thank you, and happy holidays! ZooFari 00:55, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the announcement. Ivan Akira (talk) 01:44, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, thanks! ZooFari 03:03, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Graphic LAb new workshop[edit]

You might be interested in the discussion I started at the Graphic Lab talk page. ZooFari 03:55, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info... lately, I'm not log in in Commons (in the middle of final semester test), thanks to you to announce it to me... Ivan Akira (talk) 06:04, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, I think you should invite another people (wikigraphist of course) to discuss that topic too, so we can reach consensus altogether. Ivan Akira (talk) 06:13, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Scans of old magazines (Graphic Lab/Photography workshop)[edit]

Thanks for the modifications! They look great! --ecelan (talk) 09:51, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to hear that you like it, but you can just comment at Commons:Graphic_Lab/Photography_workshop#Scans_of_old_magazines... anyway, if you think the Gaussian Blur is doesn't needed, you can just tell me to remove the blur, because it kinda blurry... IRC channel for Graphic Lab[edit]

Hello Ivan Akira. I see that you are an active contributer at the Graphic Lab. I was wondering if you use the IRC channels or if you are interested in joining. I'm creating a channel for the Graphic Lab and I need a few participants willing to become channel operators. Being a channel operator for a specific channel (in this case, the Graphic Lab channel) allows you to take control of the channel when necessary. For example, granting others channel operator status, kicking or banning disruptive guests, or change other channel statistics. If you are interested, please come by my channel here and see if I'm available so that we can discuss. Cheers, ZooFari 20:34, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry for my late reply... Currently I'm not using any IRC channel, and don't know if I'm will use it in the future (besides that, I'm afraid that I'm not always available online). Basically, what would wikigraphist do in IRC channel? Just curious. Ivan Akira (talk) 01:55, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Currently I have it set up for different purposes: a place where wikigraphists can meet and help others (an alternative to the graphics village pump), discuss the requests on the technical side, fulfill quick and uncontroversial requests that editors bring up, discuss the maintenance of the cleanup categories, and more importantly help potential graphists. For example, helping a user how to fix an SVG issue is much easier via IRC than a discussion page. Perhaps a user wants to learn more about the software being used. The Graphic Lab and its maintenance categories are in dire need of help. Don't hesitate to say no if you don't wish to. BTW, the Commons:Graphic Lab/Video and sound workshop has been introduced to the lab; you can check it out. Cheers, ZooFari 02:10, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I'll pass on this subject, because I'm afraid if I become a channel operators, I can't help much. And hey finally Video and sound workshop is published. Btw, if you put your attention at the text with green background in Commons:Graphic Lab/Video and sound workshop. You'll find:
Illustration Workshop (request) | Photography Workshop (request) | Map Workshop (request)| Video and Sound Workshop (request)
Pay attention for the space character between ")" and "|", I think you should put one space between them. Ivan Akira (talk) 03:28, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Ivan. I have fixed the error. And thanks for taking a look at my consideration. Cheers, ZooFari 03:34, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's nothing, no problem. And again, I'm really sorry. Ivan Akira (talk)
Eh, I got a few others in mind. Thanks again, and come back if you change your mind. Cheers, ZooFari 03:38, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaning up request[edit]

Hey there, thanks again for your previous work. I was wondering if you'd be willing to try doing cleanup work on this file. It is one of the first publications of Indonesia Raya, from 1928. The current uploaded jpg is not such a great version, and, as you can tell, contains a lot of artifacts. I have the original PDF this came from, so I can e-mail it to you if you're interested on working from the original file and then upload a lossless version. This was scanned by an archival library staff, so I can't really obtain a new one. Terima kasih. Arsonal (talk) 02:36, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request taken by Ivan Akira: No problem, I will work on it right away! I'll try to use this image first, so in current time there's no need for you to e-mail me the PDF version. Btw, you can always request on Illustration workshop. It is highly recommended, because there are many Wikigraphist who might be able to do better than me. Even though, I do also accept personal request, so it's fine. Hahaha, I'm lack in English grammar. Ivan Akira (talk) 07:21, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done: Please check my work, coz' I don't want any information loss in that important publication. Ivan Akira (talk) 08:01, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I just wanted to see how well it would turn out if the current jpg is cleaned up. I guess there is no harm in doing it. I will upload a lossless version for the Illustration workshop Wikigraphists to work on later. :) Feel free to use Indonesian with me anytime. Arsonal (talk) 08:53, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Bagus deh kalau begitu, hahaha... But actually I'm prefer to write and speak in English, coz' I should fluent in English, since it's an international language and my job might require English too :-). Ivan Akira (talk) 09:24, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
