I did not delete your images, I only suggested their delition for copyright reasons. To prove that you are the owner of the images please follow step 4 of this upload form. Btw. I urgently suggest to remove the huge and image destroying watermarks before uploading. Otherwise the images may be deleted due to too little quality! -- Ies (talk)

The Rabat cities in Malta[edit]

The Rabat cities as many cities and geographical areas in Malta has their names from the time of the Arabs. Same as many other places in Sicily and Spain as the Rapida monastery in Spain (Famous in Christopher Colombus story). You have deleted the categories without any reasonable explanation, may be because you do not know Arabic or you might not know the historical origin of the names of the Rabat city (Malta), Gozo Rabat and may be you do not know that the old capital of Malta Medina has took its name from Arabic al-Madina = the city. I feel this is a misunderstanding that has been clarified. The category should stay and the previous subcategorized files should be included. I suppose you refer to Category:Ribat of Rabat (Malta) and its former content, a wild mix-up of city categories, over-categorized maps, over-categorized coats of arms and even one (!) image of the Citadella. As moreover you did't even link Category:Ribats of Malta anyhow to Category:Malta I can't see any sense in your categorizing. Please explain why you don't link to Malta, why you over-categoroze images and why you only categorize details (maps, coats of arms, one (!) image of the Citadella) of the cities instead of the entire cities. Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 startet in Kürze[edit]

Hallo Ies,

in Kürze ist es wieder soweit. Der nun schon traditionelle Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments wird im September zum vierten Mal stattfinden. In ähnlicher Form hatte unlängst der Wettbewerb "Wiki Loves Earth" eine erfolgreiche Premiere. Zu allen bisherigen vier Wettbewerben haben seit 2011 gut 3000 unterschiedliche Teilnehmer (User) ihren Beitrag geleistet. Du warst dabei, und bist auch herzlich eingeladen, am bevorstehenden WLM-Wettbewerb wieder dabei zu sein.

Allein in Deutschland wurden in den letzten drei Jahren im Rahmen von WLM rund 100.000 Fotos zu den insgesamt ca. 850.000 Kulturdenkmalen bundesweit hochgeladen. Jährlich haben sich mehrere Hundert Wiki-Fotographen daran beteiligt. Auch im kommenden Denkmalmonat wird dies gewiss wieder der Fall sein. Der Tag des offenen Denkmals am 14. September bietet bundesweit vielfältige Möglichkeiten, Denkmale nicht nur von außen, sondern auch von innen zu fotografieren. Denkmallisten sind dabei ein wichtiger Orientierungspunkt und zugleich auch Ziel der Einbindung der Fotos. Auch in diesem Jahr sind wieder neue Denkmallisten hinzugekommen, die hilfreich bei der Planung von individuellen oder Gruppen-Fototouren sind und auf eine Bebilderung warten, wie z.B. zu Görlitz oder Zittau. Unter den Landeshauptstädten fehlt nur noch Stuttgart. Aber auch hier ist Licht in Sicht.

In der Mitte Deutschlands hat die Denkmallandschaft der thüringischen Landeshauptstadt Erfurt nun das Licht der Wikipedia-Welt entdeckt. Mehr als 50 Tabellen enthalten 3.700 Denkmale. Allein die wunderschön restaurierte Altstadt umfasst 1.800 Denkmale. Eine von WMDE geförderte WLM-Fototour nach Erfurt am Wochenende vom 29. – 31. August lädt herzlich ein, diese einzigartige Kulturlandschaft zu dokumentieren. Mehr Informationen findest Du auf der Projektseite.

Category:Historic Schools in North Carolina[edit]

Hello. I saw this category that you created. It's very similar to some historic building categories that were deleted because the scope wasn't specific enough. Hi Auntof6, I didn't care about the category's criteria. I found the pictures categorized "Historic Schools in North Carolina" without an existing category and therefore linked them to Category:Schools in North Carolina to make them findable. Thats all. Do you mean that you created the category because there were images in it but the category hadn't been defined yet? When you see a redlinked category, it's good to think about whether it fits into the category structure before you create it. Sometimes people who don't understand the categories here put different redlinked categories on things, and not all of them should get defined, no matter how many entries are in them. I've been going through a lot of categories named things like "Historic X in Y". The issue with them is that this kind of category name doesn't say what makes something historic. For example, a school could be considered historic if something famous happened there, because it was the first example in its area of a certain kind of architecture, or even just because it's old.
In this case I think it would have been better to move the images to the "Schools in North Carolina" category. The Cat-a-lot gadget is very helpful for doing things like that. I just used it to move these images up to the parent category, and I've asked for this category to be deleted. Let me know if you'd like more explanation of any of this, or if you'd like help learning to use Cat-a-lot (assuming you don't already know how). --Auntof6 (talk) 08:14, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but I'm neither familiar with nor anyhow interested in schools in North Carolina. Since I couldn't decide whether or not the category is useful I tried to avoid any mistake and intentionally did not move the content but linked it to make it findable for other users who know better about these schools than me. In my opinion the China Dock (no. 6) is currently occupied by the drilling ring(s) and Dock no. 7 is free for normal ships like the HS Livingstone here and in 2006 for the Grasmere Mærsk. I think that the China Dock (without a drilling ring) actually is directly left of the Grasmere Mærsk in File:Grasmere Maersk in dock.jpg. -- Ies (talk)

Ja, manchen geht es offenbar nur darum, sich für ihre hochgeladenen Bilder lobhudeln zu lassen. Ich finde das eher ekelig und mir tun diejenigen Leid, die das nötig haben. Dann gibt es welche, die hier ihre Bilder abladen, als wäre Commons ein Müllaufen. Das muss ich nicht unbedingt akzeptieren aber wohl aushalten. I fail to see a 'refusal' or any need to be upset over this uploader and his images. I realize you may have been trying to help, but rereading what you wrote on the user's talk page doesn't show a lot of "I'm here to help" more like "I'm here to complain." Perhaps think of how the message is received before you type it? There is no reason to be so upset with someone trying to work within the system. If you lose patience with your fellow users, perhaps it's time to step away until the perspective clears. Remember we need to retain uploaders, don't forget COM:AGF and keep that happy smile pasted on face while typing your messages. During five weeks (in two years) I had the chance to visit most locations one must have seen on this beautiful island. Regarding Malta's highest point different sources lead to different locations and some of them are obviously wrong. Most likely Ta' Dmejrek is at 35°51′31.3″N 14°22′26.04″E / 35.858694°N 14.3739°E / 35.858694; 14.3739 (check against a map containing contour lines!) what means that both of us took images some hundrets of metres apart from the true Ta' Dmejrek. Don't be sad when I clear this category.

Die umsortierten Bilder stammen jeweils nach Angabe der {{WDPA|555537468}} aus dem Vogelschutzgebiet, dass, wie die Karte auf der WDPA-Webseite zeigt, nördlich der Straße Coermühle liegt und somit zum Naturschutzgebiet Rieselfelder gehört. -- Ies (talk) 11:28, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
dann ist die Karte irgendwie falsch, guck Mal [2] und zum vergleich die Karte bei [3]. Das Vogelschutzgebiet schließt 3 NSG ein (Rieselfelder Münster, Huronensee und Gelmerheide), dazu noch andere Flächen. Holger1959 (talk) 11:42, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

da gibts noch den Naturerlebnisraum Rieselfelder Münster. War vor Jahren Mal mit einer Bustour dort und die haben uns dann viel im Bereich südlich der Coermühle rumgeführt. Von oben ganz gut zu sehen auf File:20140601 122338 Rieselfelder, Münster (DSC02137).jpg. Hello Ies I uploaded some files for my user page and you nominated them all for deletion. Is uploading picture for user page is not allowed on wikipedia commons?

Hallo! Die Bilder sind nur ein Nebenprodukt von meinem Kartieren für OpenStreetMaps, daher ist das mit der Fleißabreit relativ. Ich habe micht mit den Kategorien nicht groß auseinander gesetzt, wollte aber mit den Fotos nicht die allgemeinen Kategorien zumüllen, also habe ich in den einzelnen Stadtteilen die Subs shops eingefügt.
