Danke![edit]

Eleassar (t/p) 08:38, 6 January 2016 (UTC) Johann Jaritz (talk) 12:00, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Schwierige Sache, Hans!.
Mal schauen was der LA bring... lg --Steinsplitter (talk) 13:52, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

--Hubertl 23:47, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ende gut, alles gut :) --CEphoto, Uwe Aranas (talk) 10:27, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hubert[edit]

Hello Hubert, thanks for advice. Sorry, but at first I did not understand the word "calibration" (or the Dutch equivalent) in this context. However I realize that I have not installed my monitor correctly; a maximum brightness might have been the most important reason why I developed most photos too dark. I have changed this value and hope it will improve my photos.

I am developing photos mostly in the evening and I am having one small light. I have never realized that the light in the room would also influence the result. When I am busy I am drinking a bit alcohol (mostly Belgian beer) and I am listening to alternative music.

At this moment I am busy to select 2015 photos (and Dutch WLMphotos from 2014) for possible Q1promotion. Some of those photos I will make a bit brighter or redevelop.

This Sunday it was a perfect day to make beautiful photos ands I have been working in my living place Arnhem. I will soon upload some of those photos and please stay critical.

Greetings, --Michielverbeek (talk) 16:26, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I made a new version, lighter and with more contrast. Regards, Yann (talk) 18:22, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Yann, I will show it the owner of the poster - it´s a color lithographiy -, he may have a look at both. Your version is very lively, actually, I like it! The owner, Eric Eybl knows the existing, of course also bleached original better than I do, he knows also the digitised version very well (grey card were used). It´s always a question of originality, even when a processed, refurbished version does maybe look a bit more dramatic and maybe closer to the origional print. The main point for me is, that this is in fact a work with a fantastic conservation, 98 years old. Every change we made, may cause a kind of forgery. I have the tendency to keep the actual conserved poster, without refurbishments. --Hubertl 19:29, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

IMHO, the white balance could be adjusted. Due to the daylight filtered by the umbrellas, it's too red (see white areas at lower right corner).

Hello Hubertl, I am currently submitting the "Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum East Court" in the Featured picture candidates. One of the criticisms that you and others have made is that my photograph needs perspective correction. I have now updated the photograph and done perspective correction.

QI - Diskussion[edit]

--CEphoto, Uwe Aranas (talk) 13:32, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The globe QICs[edit]

Regarding my QI nominations for File:Decorative globe with prismatic burst at top.jpg and File:Decorative globe at gift shop near Teotihuacan, Mexico.jpg: Thanks for looking at them so critically, actually: they were both very spur-of-the-moment shots that actually looked better than I had expected, but still had some faults, and I wondered how everyone else would see them. I'm glad you were realistic about them. Daniel Case (talk) 19:36, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, Daniel, sometimes it is necessary, even important, to reflect, how someone manage a difficult situation. To tackle some standard situations is not really a challenge. Yet enough people fail just doing simple things. And compare those results then with complex situations. --Hubertl 22:12, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
