Marie Trintignant

Bonjour Groupir !

- Tisourcier (talk) 10:36, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

- Groupir ! 15:02, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
Encore merci. Comment dois-je procéder pour avancer ? Bon week-end. Tisourcier (talk) 13:16, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
- Groupir ! (talk) 16:47, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

Crop revert

Regarding your reversion on the crop of this file:https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:La_Grande_Vadrouille_%E2%80%94_Casque_allemand_et_clap_de_tournage.jpg&oldid=301720024. Keeping a watermark on this file, which was rightly templated per Wikimedia convention, makes this picture less likely to be used by others on the web outside the project through Creative Commons. You might of course not want this file to be reused, but then why bother to upload it to Commons. Acabashi (talk) 22:45, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

@Acabashi: Indeed, I mainly upload those files for a use on Wikipedia articles. Nonetheless, the presence of this little watermark doesn't interfere with a use by others on the web (note that there is not a copyright logo). The author of the photos (Musée Louis de Funès) agreed to put the photos under a free licence as long as this mention of the creator is kept. I absolutely don't think that this discreet mention of the creator make the photo unusable for Wikipedia or elsewhere. - Groupir ! (talk) 02:06, 18 May 2018 (UTC)

- Groupir ! 15:02, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
Encore merci. Comment dois-je procéder pour avancer ? Bon week-end. Tisourcier (talk) 13:16, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
- Groupir ! (talk) 16:47, 5 May 2018 (UTC)

Encore merci !

Tisourcier (talk) 09:44, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

- Groupir ! Moving Trump

Why did you request moving the files in Category:Official portraits of Donald Trump? These requests did not fit any of the renaming criteria. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 07:53, 2 November 2019 (UTC)

@Alexis Jazz: I was surprised in 2017 by the official portrait change, and I did not understand that US presidents sometimes make a new official portrait after some month of presidency. Yesterday, I just wanted to rename the two official portraits "First" and "Second" for a better description. But, then, I discovered that the first portrait was deleted from Commons, without fully understanding what happened. So I imagine my proposition may appear unnecessary since the first portrait is no longer on Commons. - Groupir ! (talk) 20:15, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
@Groupir !: this is no reason for requesting a rename. If, for example, somebody uploads Squirrel1.jpg, Squirrel2.jpg and Squirrel4.jpg and after that someone else uploads the third image from the set as "This is a squirrel 3.jpg", criterion 4 can be used to rename "This is a squirrel 3.jpg" to "Squirrel3.jpg". Harmonizing is just that: to change a filename that doesn't fit in. Renaming a whole set is not harmonizing, that's just renaming a whole set. And heavily used images are almost never renamed unless there is a pressing reason. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 20:34, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Official portraits of Donald Trump, the details are not public. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 21:09, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
@Alexis Jazz: Yes, I understood that not long after. The first official portrait was apparently made before his inauguration, so Doug Coulter was not hired by US government at that time, therefore the portrait is not under public domain. - Groupir ! (talk) 22:17, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
And also not official. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 09:19, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

Autopatrol given

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. ~riley (talk) 05:14, 25 March 2020 (UTC)

CC BY 4.0

Hello there, sorry but I had to tag those images as without permission because of what they cautioned me: And please take notice that we have never given a general authorisation for publication of our photos under CC BY, contrary to what you suggest in your mail. For each photo, we have to do a careful check of the image and the production file in order to decide whether it can be published under CC BY. This may take some time. My advice, from my own experience, would be to get in touch with COMM-PHOTO@ec.europa.eu and ask them for a CC credit line. AlbanGeller (talk) 11:34, 19 March 2020 (UTC)

For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

File:Coluche 1980 (cropped).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

You've been repeatedly told to provide proof of this being a different person and to seek consensus for this change but you've done neither. Ignoring everyone and doing as you please '''repeatedly''' is absurd. Have a great day. –Davey2010Talk 16:03, 12 December 2021 (UTC

Thanks for uploading File:Jeanne Moreau 1958.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

P.D.: "PD Italy" was a ‎fake license, this photograph is clearly an artwork and not a "simple shot", at least in the today's understanding of European intellectual property rights, so also in Italy this photography should be protected until 2084 (70 years after death of author).--Jordi (talk) 21:10, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
