Request

Hey there, been a while, hope you are doing well :-) I have added ✓ Done this request for a while now, and recently ✓ Done this one too. Could you look at them whenever you have the time please? Thanks and best regards--باسم (talk) 12:46, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
@باسم: I haven't been very active for some time and will probably not be until late 2017. But I will look at them now and see what I can do. --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:33, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

PERMISSION TO USE A FIGURE YOU CREATED

Good day,

My name is Mark Anestis, and I am writing to obtain permission to print a figure you created from the following article in the upcoming edition of our book

McGraw Hill SAT 2018

This book is a review book used by high school students to prepare for the SAT.

The article of interest is:

https://qz.com/474523/is-your-gut-really-the-second-brain/

I would like to just use the figure you made in our passage and we will ask a question about it as one of the questions in the test.

Would that be OK with you if we used the passage?

thank you VERY much !! Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you!! Mark

Donetsk Airport

Hi Goran tek-en! May I ask what do grey areas mean in the map you've made: File:Battle of Donetsk Airport.svg ? Thanks --VoidWanderer (talk) 18:11, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

@VoidWanderer: Hi, it is urban areas. In most of them you can see that there are many roads but not in all of them. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:57, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
That's the point. Most of the areas you've marked as urban, are actually fields: all of the areas North of Airport, areas east of Pisky and North of Spartak. That's in the sources attached in a file. Regards, --VoidWanderer (talk) 18:02, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
@VoidWanderer: I'm a graphic worker and I did this map as a request. I have no knowledge of the subject or area so I have to rely on the requester. If you read thru the conversation you can follow our discussions.
If you say something is wrong on this map I'm happy to edit it. Maybe you should check with @RGloucester: and the two of you can agree on what to change and then get back to me. I totally have to rely on you people if it's not something I can see directly or so. Thanks, get back to me. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:00, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
I suppose, you can just use a map that is listed as source in the File:Battle of Donetsk Airport.svg: https://informnapalm.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/27.jpg . You can clearly see fields there. --VoidWanderer (talk) 19:15, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
Here's what I'm talking about: File:Battle of Donetsk Airport fixed fields.svg. Something wrong with fonts, though. --VoidWanderer (talk) 20:12, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
@VoidWanderer: I have uploaded a new version now so you can remove yours with the font problems, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:47, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
Great! One last tiny fix should be made - the area between cemetery and Pisky should be a field too: http://i.imgur.com/d7wZ7ax.jpg . Regards, --VoidWanderer (talk) 18:44, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
@VoidWanderer: Like this? --Goran tek-en (talk) 18:00, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
Exactly! --VoidWanderer (talk) 18:06, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
New version uploaded, the preview takes some time change. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:42, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

Horner's syndrome

@Axl: Do you think we can have the discussions here instead of in the archive, you have to edit the whole page there.
The latest draft is this one here.
Maybe you have to look back at what we have discussed before.
Just get back to me as soon as you have catched up on this, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 18:50, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

I will help, just ask. Thanks. -- Bojan  Talk  18:59, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

You will have to look at the draft as above and read my last question I had in the archive. I don't know how to continue from there, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:08, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
Perhaps this picture is easier to understand. The first synapse should be within the spinal cord, around level T1. However your draft seems to show "2" as the synapse, which is anterior to the spinal cord. "3" on your draft is the correct position for the superior cervical ganglion. Perhaps your draft could make it a bit clearer that a synapse is present in each of the ganglia—currently they look like pink blobs with branching neurones coming out of them. Axl (talk) 23:32, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
@BokicaK: @Axl: So let's see if I got it better now, new draft. I wasn't sure if yo wanted several synapses and other things. But just try to explain to me what to do, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:28, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

Heh, I meant I will help for this task -- Bojan  Talk  03:43, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
@BokicaK: OK that's fine but you posted it under this "Horner's syndrome" so I will move it to the right place, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 12:09, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

@Axl: I do need your feedback on this: So let's see if I got it better now, new draft. I wasn't sure if yo wanted several synapses and other things. But just try to explain to me what to do, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:53, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
The synapse labelled "2" should be at the level of T1, which is at the top of the chest—right at the bottom of the picture. The neurone leading away from 2 should go only slightly downwards within the spinal cord, and then forwards out of the cord. The position of the superior cervical ganglion ("3") looks about right. Also, the heights of the cervical vertebrae are not tall enough. There are a total of seven cervical vertebrae, from the top of the chest to the base of the skull. You don't have to show them all on the picture, but you could make them taller in the diagram. Thanks. Axl (talk) 09:56, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: Thanks for feedback, now there is a new draft. Maybe you have to update your browser window to get the new version. Right now the background is transparent, is that like you want it?
Give me feedback on this draft, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 13:52, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
Hello, Goran. Sorry about the delay. The synapses are at about the right place. However the cervical vertebrae are not quite right. They should be bulkier and the back of the spinous processes should be closer to the skin on the back of the neck. Moreover, C1 and C2 vertebrae have completed different shapes to the other cervical vertebrae. You don't really need to include all seven vertebrae in the diagram. Two or three vertebrae in the middle would be enough to show the viewer that the nerves are passing through the spinal column. I would draw your attention again to this picture. Axl (talk) 20:24, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: I have locked at this picture but that doesn't show the cervical vertebrae. Now I have looked at this picture and I hope it's better. New draft, maybe you have to update your browser window to get the new version. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:40, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
The shape of the cervical vertebrae is certainly an improvement. However the height of the vertebrae is still not quite enough. The top of the spine should be approximately level with the top of the teeth/bottom of the nose. The bottom of the cervical spine should probably go a little lower too. If you insist on showing the whole cervical spine, it might be appropriate to show the curve of the bottom of the skull too. Axl (talk) 12:29, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: I realize that to get the whole cervical vertebrae too work it should have been a part from the beginning, now it takes to much editing. Does it work like this? I'm really thankful for your patience and valuable feedback/knowledge, thank you. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:17, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I like the reduced emphasis on the cervical vertebrae. It is enough to show the viewer that the neurone is passing through, but without unnecessary detail of the vertebrae.
I think that we can move on to the next part of the picture. At "4", the neurone seems to branch into multiple paths, with two paths moving forwards. I don't think that this is a good representation. Axl (talk) 08:49, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: The image that was my base file:Horner's_Syndrome_and_Autonomic_innervation_of_the_eye.svg is this one so I followed that. If that is not correct you have to tell me how it should look like or link me to a correct representation, I have zero knowledge. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:08, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
I recommend a simplified version similar to this picture. The network at the number 4 does not help. Axl (talk) 09:05, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: New draft. There are two arrows I don't understand how/where and if the nerves go inside? Give me feedback, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:19, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
Goran, the new version looks very good. The branching part should be a little higher up, though. The nerves should pass downwards towards the eyeball. Axl (talk) 17:56, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
Actually now I am not so sure. I am currently away from home, but I shall be back next week. I am gonna look into the matter further and let you know. Axl (talk) 14:38, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: Is there any possibility to finish this one? --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:52, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi again, Goran. I am sorry about the delay. I have had trouble finding a good source for this information.
The nerve indicated by the left arrow follows the course of the internal carotid artery, and then the ophthalmic artery where it branches off from the internal carotid artery. Have a look at this picture. The ophthalmic artery branches off from the internal carotid at the level of the bottom of the orbit. The ophthalmic artery then passes up, forwards, and down. (The nerve is not within the artery, as implied by the current version.) Axl (talk) 17:00, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: You probably have to reload the page to get the new draft. I hope I got it better now, feedback, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 18:05, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
The ophthalmic artery should go further up at its start, then descend to the middle of the eyeball. The long ciliary nerve (going to the middle of the eye) should arise from the other pink nerves below the level of the ophthalmic artery, and then join the nasociliary nerve. Axl (talk) 08:54, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: I looked at this image before and now I looked at this to try to understand. But a lot of the different images show the same thing in different ways, anyway for me without any knowledge.
New draft. --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:32, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
The nerve that joins the trigeminal ganglion (proceeding into the long ciliary nerve) should not come directly from the brainstem. Rather, it should arise from the other pink nerve near the carotid artery. I think that the trigeminal ganglion itself should be further forwards, anterior to the carotid artery. Axl (talk) 14:39, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
@Axl: New draft, it's really hard to understand what you mean mostly for me. Then all the pictures I look at looks different. If you could make a very rough sketch it would help me. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:39, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
Stale

I'm not getting any feedback. So I archive this, if someone wants it resumed just contact me but I need help and feedback. --Goran tek-en (talk) 15:58, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

Filters using In2=BackgroundImage only works in IE/Edge browsers, and not on the svg root element

Not sure I posted my comment somewhere useful, so let's link to it: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Goran_tek-en/Gallery/2015#Filters_using_In2.3DBackgroundImage_only_works_in_IE.2FEdge_browsers.2C_and_not_on_the_svg_root_element — Preceding unsigned comment added by FremyCompany (talk • contribs) 03:02, 19 May 2017 (UTC)

@FremyCompany: Hi and thanks. I'm not sure what I should do with that information. I really don't think I have used any filters on that image of 2015, it's a straight forward illustration so there is no need for filters, even by accident. What is done in the later versions of @Wfischer: and @Quibik: I have no idea. There is also no way to contact the person who posted it for more precise information on which boxes etc. --Goran tek-en (talk) 09:13, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
@Goran tek-en: The filter in the <defs> has id "filter7485". It is used on a single rectangle, with id "rect4353-2". It doesn't do anything useful, it's probably just a mistake introduced by accident while editing in InkScape. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FremyCompany (talk • contribs) 01:26, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Hi Goran tek-en,

may you please update this chart? Since I know, that you are very occupied, I've just wanted to bring this on your agenda.

Thanks in advance.--Kosher Nostra Scam (talk) 12:33, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

I like your pictures!

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I really like your frost pattern pictures, especially File:Frost-pattern 6.png (right) and File:Frost-pattern 9.png (lower-right). Keep up the good work! Noah Kastin (talk) 08:31, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

@Mr. Fulano: I don't know what to do about this issue, I hope you can fix it, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:21, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

Me nether, because is a coat of arms of a city in Brazil, so that is in public domain. @Gunnex: Why? Mr. Fulano (talk) 17:26, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
@Mr. Fulano: Hi! File:Coat of arms of Pugmil.jpg (and derivates of it) is a {{PD-SO}}-fail = "(...) published or commissioned (...) prior to 1983." --> pt:Pugmil was created only in 1994. No trivial text/shape logo, failing {{PD-textlogo}}/{{PD-shape}}. All coats of arms (and flags) of Brazilian municipalities are established by municipal law. The actual Brazilian copyright law from 1998 makes no exception for government works. Source http://www.pugmil.to.gov.br/Nossa-Cidade/Hino-Bandeira-Brasao/ is "Copyright © 2017 - Prefeitura Municipal Pugmil - Todos os direitos reservados." / All rights reserved. Gunnex (talk) 17:36, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
@Gunnex: But the Coat of Arms isn't a part of the law? And Érico, can you help us? Mr. Fulano (talk) 18:02, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
@Mr. Fulano: It may be part of the municipal law but a coat of arms is obviously not "text"... Gunnex (talk) 22:55, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
@Gunnex: Sorry, I didn't read this. Altrough, I sent a e-mail to town hall to change the license. Mr. Fulano (talk) 22:59, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
@Mr. Fulano: If/when you get a permission to use that image as a base you can ping me and I will upload the deleted svg file again. --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:19, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

Tannu-Tuwa

Saw you're rather active again here... One issue of the Tuva project is not solved yet, it is:

@Antemister: Yes I have time and energy to spend here again. I don't have that article longer and I don't understand how the COA you want should look like. You have to explain it more in detail. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:47, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
Sent you the article again. The CoAs are both only variants of the standard CoA for soviet republics, it differs from others only by the text.--Antemister (talk) 19:54, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: You have to remember that I have zero knowledge of this, I don't know what a "standard CoA for soviet republics" looks like. You have given two files and they look differently, which do you want?
What should I do with the article, which page or image or text?
And then you just want me to change the text? --Goran tek-en (talk) 21:24, 10 August 2017 (UTC)
OK, if you do intense research on such a topic, you take many issues as self-evident. As all the ASSRs had the same emblem, it is actually only a matter of changing the text. I could now write again a detailed description here, but page 4 of the PDF describes the arms and the text in details. Note that the old emblem has no star, so use File:Coat of arms of Crimean ASSR.svg as the base file for the older, and File:Coat of arms of Kalmyk ASSR.svg for the newer variant.--Antemister (talk) 10:04, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: I have changed the text on the upper part on this 62-78 draft. Actually I can't really figure out if the lower part should change or to what. I tried with the pdf also. If the lower text should be changed please write it here, that's the easiest for me. Feedback, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:40, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Top is correct, but regrding the bottom one my description was not correct, as the tuvan text is cyrillic and not latin (there are several alphabets used, thats confusing. Correct should be: ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ
СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!

and

БҮГҮ ДЕЛЕГЕЙНИҢ
ПРОЛЕТАРЛАРЫ, КАТТЫЖЫҢАР!
Will try to find a speaker of the tuvan language in order to check your draft.--Antemister (talk) 21:53, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

@Antemister: New draft for 62-78. OBS you probably have to reload the page to get the new version with the altered text below. Feedback, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:03, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
Yes, should be correct according to my description, but the font you use does not include the letter En with descender (as usual). This requires an expert, @Karl432: . @Kintetsubuffalo: could you also have a look here?--Antemister (talk) 21:50, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
The forms of the non-Russian lettere are OK; however, they look too thin as they are obviously taken from a different font. -- Karl432 (talk) 08:33, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
The newest version looks correct, but the Ү and the Ң don't appear to have the same font weight of the other letters.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 22:55, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: @Karl432: @Kintetsubuffalo: The Ү and the Ң have the same font weight and are also bold, this has to do with the font itself.
  • I can manually make Ү and the Ң bolder if you wish, should I?
  • If you know of a font that works better with those alphabets, just tell me which I should use.
  • When we are done I will need the following;
  • Name of the file: Coat of arms of the Tuvan ASSR (1962-1978).svg
  • Description
  • Category/ies at commons [[Category:Coats of arms of the Soviet Republics]]

to be able to upload it at commons. Feedback, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 15:09, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
@Karl432: , you did correct such an issue, what font did you use? Description is simply Coat of arms of the Tuvan ASSR (1962-1978) and Category:Symbols of Tuva.--Antemister (talk) 17:25, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: I need your feedback to be able to continue. --Goran tek-en (talk) 15:13, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
Once again @Karl432: , which font does work here?--Antemister (talk) 16:59, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: Can we continue without you getting answer from Karl432? --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:25, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
Actually yes. Can you try to use one of teh fonts listed here. These ones should contain the two problematic letters.--Antemister (talk) 16:43, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: New draft for 62-78. OBS you probably have to reload the page to get the new version with another font, feedback, thanks.--Goran tek-en (talk) 17:19, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
Here the two relevant letters are depicted correctly. Which font did you use? It's OK, but it looks rather bold for such an image.--Antemister (talk) 21:32, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: On that draft it was DejaVue Sans and I agree that it looks to heavy. New draft with Free Sans that has a semi-bold. You probably have to reload the page to get the new one, feedback. --Goran tek-en (talk) 18:32, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Hope that I actually saw the new version, and the text in the banner looks better. Did you also change the text in the shield on the top?--Antemister (talk) 21:43, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: New link so that you for sure get the new one. Yeas all of the text is with Free Sans and semi-bold. Can this be uploaded now? --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:24, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
Compared it with the original file, now it's OK with the font. Only one other issue: On the top, "PCФCP" missis the "Ф".--Antemister (talk) 21:43, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

@Antemister: Sorry for that, it's back now and you can find it here File:Coat of arms of the Tuvan ASSR (1962-1978).svg.
Will work on the other one now. --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:38, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

@Antemister: Draft of the newer. I'm unsure about the two bottom lines, if they are wrong (or anything else) please write it here, feedback, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:55, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
As there should not be any difference of the text in the banner, the new version should be correct regarding that. But what you forgot is the star on the top, as at File:Coat of arms of Kalmyk ASSR.svg.--Antemister (talk) 20:46, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
The star brings me to the (hopefully) last issue regarding Tuvan arms. File:Emblem of the Tuvan People's Republic (1930-1933).svg seems to have a technical problem, after an editor with little skills in vector graphics tried to fix the star that got a strange look after the edits of TUBS. Can you fix that?--Antemister (talk) 20:48, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: New draft with star.
For the other file, it's a fake svg file. It includes a bitmap image, nothing else. So it should not de saved as a svg. There is a version after TUBS which has fixed the star. If that is not OK then maybe it should be redrawn as a real svg.
Feedback, thanks. --Goran tek-en (talk) 16:51, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
Correct from my point of view, you can upload it. The secoind version from TUBS of the 1930-1933 arms should be a correct SVG, but has an errorness depiction of the star. It should be possible to take the star you used here and insert it into that version.--Antemister (talk) 20:16, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: Now you can find it here: file:Coat of arms of the Tuvan ASSR (1978-1992).svg
I have uploaded a new true svg version with new star for the other one. --Goran tek-en (talk) 20:03, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

OK, both the file and the star are correct now, but I see a black circle in the center that should not be here. The same in your browser?--Antemister (talk) 19:51, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
@Antemister: In which file, show me a print screen so I can see. --Goran tek-en (talk) 17:04, 17 September 2017 (UTC)
Send you the file, it seems that the black contour surrounding the green/blue circle has shrunken.--Antemister (talk) 21:55, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

@Antemister: It's removed now but I guess it takes some time for the png's to be changed. --Goran tek-en (talk) 18:59, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

But actually there should be a black contour for the blue/green circle, like in the first variant.--Antemister (talk) 19:38, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

@Antemister: Both those problems was in the file I reverted to before but is now fixed. --Goran tek-en (talk) 22:38, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Now all is fine with that image - thanks!--Antemister (talk) 21:36, 21 September 2017 (UTC)

21:10, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I made use of your work File:Vassal states of the Ottoman Empire in 1683.svg to create a new file File:Ottomaanse Rijk in Centraal Europa in 1683 (NL).svg for use on the Dutch language Wikipedia article on the Principality of Transylvania. Thank you for your work. Hopefully you find my use acceptable and respectful of your work. Regards, --oSeveno (talk) 15:18, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Absolutely, that is how it works here. Glad it was useful. ̣--Goran tek-en (talk) 15:35, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Request

Hello again! I've placed this request for almost a month now, and no one seems to be able to take it. Could you take a look when you have some free time? Thanks--باسم (talk) 16:05, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

Yes I have seen it and hoped some one else would take it. I will take it now. --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:15, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

✓ Done

I'm really sorry, someone on ar. wiki translated both images (check) without noticing the request here. I'm sorry for the trouble really. This is the user's 1st contribution to our Graphic lab and he still have to learn some steps. I think it would be pointless to upload other versions of these files now. I hope this doesn't annoy you i really do. Thank you for all your time and effort. Best--باسم (talk) 05:59, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

Note

Thank you for your amazing help in creating maps of British Agencies in Gujarat. We have created maps of four agencies and I have posted maps for 5,6,7th Agency. I will be on long Wikivacation from next week to the end of January 2018. I will be looking into things whenever I get chance but will not be very active/responding. So after creating 7th agency map, we will be resuming our work only after January 2018. I will message you after I come back. Till then, please create 5,6 and 7th agency map. Lots of thanks and regards,--Nizil Shah (talk) 06:49, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

Hei Brother

@Bloch khan: If you mean that you can add/edit information or other in Pashto, of course. The logo itself is supposed to be like that for each language, nothing more or less in the image. Yes I'm from Sweden. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:40, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
I saw you are from Afghanistan and that you live in Norway, right? I have helped a guy from Afghanistan here in Sweden now for some years and tomorrow his girlfriend will come here, after almost five years, amazing. --Goran tek-en (talk) 19:43, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
