Big list of (*extremely humbly*) requested cocaine analogue SVGs[edit]

Well here's my (maybe) "by next Christmas" list. Probably a few RTIs on my page that Singh didn't have (I'll worry over that sometime further down the yellow Wik-road), and of course if you see what can be taken care of with R-substitutions images in the interim I'll also find those useful. ;-j Nagelfar (talk) 00:27, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ed, these should be the final "next Christmas wish list" installment that finally hits every nail into that foundation which I was meaning since the beginning, let me know if there's anything interesting I can do for you where images aren't the factor. In the meantime, this is mostly ones for the page I started myself before user Nuklear got all segued into the phenyltropanes specifically. Thanks! Nagelfar (talk) 22:43, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

These were in a patent with phenyltropanes, some kinda piperazine homologue with a distal nitrogen? (3 total) File:Ring opened phenyltropane analog A.svg File:Ring opened phenyltropane analog B.svg File:Ring opened phenyltropane analog C.svg

Got 'em, thanks! Nagelfar (talk) 17:41, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK got 'em. Nagelfar (talk) 17:04, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I replaced a sci-hub link in the above message with a DOI link because sci-hub links are blacklisted. DMacks (talk) 12:16, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Benztropines & GBRs

An R-substitution image for UMB38 and chloro-substituted analogues in regard to their closeness to this and the GBR analogs would be appreciated too.
(From the above thanks, to here, and I can't for the life of me imagine anything more thoroughly complete in this class than what me and you have put in WP, can't think of anything more to even include(!!... sure I'll find something eventually, but it won't look so daunting one-at-a-time) ;-)) Nagelfar (talk) 20:47, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information template missing[edit]

Hi Ed. Would you mind having a look at the two dozens of your files (mostly transferred from Wikipedia by other users) without the Information template (incategory:Media_missing_infobox_template Edgar181)? Some of them may have been replaced by newer versions. --Leyo 12:53, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I will take a look at them all and either add the information template to them or delete them if they aren't currently useful. Ed (Edgar181) 14:37, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
File:4-acetoxy-dipt.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

NMDA drug that is 30 times potency of ketamine w/ a 10+ hr. half-life[edit]

here it is: lower image

BL org post about it

patent referenceable mentioning it in attestable WP qualifying manner

Maybe do a svg of it, labeled by its IUPAC, and I'll start its article Nagelfar (talk) 21:45, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Here it is: file:N-methylhexahydrofluorenamine.svg. Ed (Edgar181) 14:23, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'll get to making the page, haven't forgot about this at this point ;j Nagelfar (talk) 17:44, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
done. Cheers. Nagelfar (talk) 19:11, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Edgar181. The SVG version was included to that DR. I guess would need to take a decision there, too. --Leyo 13:50, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I intended to delete the svg too, but somehow missed it. It is done now. Thanks for letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 13:52, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rucaparib[edit]

The compound is clearly an indole but User:Flyer22 Reborn undid my removal of a very very poorly written paper claiming it's a benzimdiazole. When you get a chance can you rewrite that section? 69.125.168.63 05:13, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the inaccurate benzimidazole comment is no longer in the article. I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't return. Ed (Edgar181) 13:49, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request for svgs[edit]

Simple request to make svg images of the structures on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_dodecylbenzenesulfonate — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mfernflower (talk • contribs) 01:17, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I should be able to find the time to do them within a day or so. Ed (Edgar181) 16:25, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done. I created File:Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate skeletal.svg and File:Sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate branched.svg. Ed (Edgar181) 22:00, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) alkaloids (also known as poison gooseberry or winter cherry)[edit]

I notice how you've focused on estrogen analogues and such in recent history, Ed. Well I have taken interest in 'Ashwagandha' extract, which contains, among other things, Withaferin A steroidal lactone with many different other human metabolic affectations. The plant also has many alkaloids shared with the nightshade and tropane families; but it has two in particular I am quite interested in, exclusive to the plant itself which have no pages on WP, and they are ashwagandhine, ashwaganidhine, and somniferine, known exclusively from this plant and not attested to be known in others. If you have a source to find the structures for those three, could you draw them? Nagelfar (talk) 23:16, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Someone came up with one of them, as part of the poppy constituent: Somniferine. Nagelfar (talk) 20:20, 24 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't been too active on Wikipedia lately, but I'll try to get to them soon. Ed (Edgar181) 19:46, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Nagelfar: Sorry I've been slow. Here is an image for somniferine: File:Somniferine.svg. At the moment, I can't find out the chemical structures of ashwagandhine and ashwaganidhine. I'll keep looking. Ed (Edgar181) 15:35, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks old friend, it's on the List of opioids dimer table at the bottom of the pop-up table-list of images, now. Nagelfar (talk) 01:30, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

I'm writing you as one of the most active Commons users right now. Since a while now, the idea of a dedicated Commons conference has been floating around. But since the last Wikimania concrete steps have been taken to actually make it happen next year. If you're interested in participation or maybe willing to help organize the first ever Commons Conference, I invite you to check out the project page and leave your comments; or just show your support for the idea, by signing up.

Cheers,

Upcoming Wiki Science Competition[edit]

Hi, I am contacting all active commons users I can find more interested in the management of pictures related to scientific topics. If you have time, could you take a look in Commons:Village_pump#Upcoming_Wiki_Science_Competition. Thank you.--Alexmar983 (talk) 07:26, 17 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Standard date format[edit]

Hi Edgar, could you please use the ISOdate format for you future uploads? So i do not need to clean them up. [1]. Thank you for your cooperation, --ArndBot (talk) 14:53, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I currently use Wikimedia's automated method of generating the current date (~~~~~). If there is a way to automatically generate the current date in the format you would like, please let me know and I'll use it. Ed (Edgar181) 17:10, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
When uploading chemical structures I use {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}-{{subst:CURRENTMONTH}} (see ↑ symbol on my user page). You could add the day if you'd like to. --Leyo 22:48, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect. I'll use that. Thanks. Ed (Edgar181) 23:32, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have {{Commons:Upload/Chemistry}} on my userpage so I don't have to remember what an icon represents:) DMacks (talk) 02:40, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've been around a long time but have never seen that. :) Thanks. Ed (Edgar181) 11:17, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cocaine List, "Big list of", as seen above[edit]

Hi Ed. I know life beacons, even at more priority interests as off-time hobbies go in the chemistry world; the above list I wanted to mention FYI, probably won't get much bigger, and I'll then rest easy that it's done to the best among what's published that I can find. ;-) Nagelfar (talk) 22:36, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I will return to the "Big list" and get a bunch of them done very soon. Mostly I've been distracted by other things, I guess. Ed (Edgar181) 19:05, 9 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It's a huge endeavor which I am happy to have you on board with, no explanation necessary (I've been livin' life too, well, sorta, lol). Thanks for jumping right back into the high quality of work though, got the lastest added. Nagelfar (talk) 17:12, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Edgar181. Could you please consider adapting the structure based on my note? --Leyo 14:25, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Thanks for letting me know about the error. Ed (Edgar181) 15:22, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

IP intervention[edit]

Hi. Can you have a look at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Jason Lin and Peter Huang 2014-03-08.jpg please? Ty. --E4024 (talk) 15:13, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I protected the page and blocked a couple of the recent IPs. That should help for now. Please let me know if the problem resurfaces in some way. Ed (Edgar181) 15:19, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Interested in starting a series of morphine 3-ester/ether + 6-ether/esters SVGs?[edit]

Should be simple. I notice WP has 3-methylmorphine, 6-methylmorphine, 6-MAM, 6-MAC, 3,6-ThisThat&TheOther; but the potent common mixes, 3-this,6-that; are omitted. Just mono- & di-ester types. I think a subsection of the opioid morphinan lists could use that to such purposes.

we have 3-Monoacetylmorphine, 6-Monoacetylmorphine; plus propionyl, propanoyl, nico, benzoyl, above and beyond the methyl & acetyl that can be either in the 3 or 6 position, every combination thereof might very well be all such an endeavor would consist of at first. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nagelfar (talk • contribs) 21:30, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'd have to delve a bit for which combinations would be viable synthesis-wise; but liable esters with nonliable ethers i.e. 3-methyl,6-acetyl-morphine, might be a start. Nagelfar (talk) 18:43, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lithol rubine BK[edit]

Hello Edgar, the sulfo group in File:Lithol_Rubine.png should not be ortho, but meta to the methyl group. --FK1954 (talk) 10:08, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have now replaced it with File:Lithol rubine BK.svg. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. Ed (Edgar181) 11:51, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And thank you for your rapid reaction! --FK1954 (talk) 14:06, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Apalutamide formula[edit]
