Exo-2-phenyl-7-azabicyclo(2.2.1)heptane[edit]

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Exo-2-phenyl-7-azabicyclo(2.2.1)heptane.jpg

Where is the doi for this compound? chemspider drew a blank and I only found endo on google.--Nuklear (talk) 18:45, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The carboxylic variant can be found mentioned "doi:10.1016/0040-4039(95)01414-D", the original source for the non-carboxylic, not sure, but it was discussed from another source not given, at this message board.. Nagelfar (talk) 22:40, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Wikipedia 'List of cocaine analogues' article images needed[edit]

Hi there! Unfortunately i won't be able to fulfill this task in the next 3 months or so. I'm really sorry. Arrowsmaster (talk) 22:41, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I have someone willing to make the images and release the license, this individual can upload the images, but I can't download onto this library computer. I can't upload (or don't know how) to here directly from websites. But the first of the images I requested is here. If you could just download, rename and upload, I can do the article inclusion. I don't know if that's an issue because it wasn't "made by you" but neither of us care about it's intellectual property (for all I care you can say you made it when you upload it). In the meantime maybe one of us will figure it out. Thanks for getting back to me. Nagelfar (talk) 21:20, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

196f[edit]

i think 196f is β-phenethyl, correct? maybe a typo in original script.--Nuklear (talk) 16:31, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure, but I've come across typos in academic literature of this sort often. Esp. when there is so much redundant chemical nomenclature. Nagelfar (talk) 21:05, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading some images! Did you know that Wikimedia Commons recommends the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format for certain types of images? Scalable Vector Graphics are designed to look appropriate at any scale, and SVG images are easier to modify and translate, helping Wikimedia to distribute knowledge to all of the world. A lot of modern programs support SVG export. If you encountered problems or have questions, don't hesitate to ask me, a member of the Graphic Lab, or the Graphics village pump. Uploading images in SVG format isn't mandatory, but it would help. (To avoid any misunderstandings, please don't just put raster images into an SVG container as embedded raster.) Thanks, and happy editing!

Hello, Nagelfar!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Image sourcing[edit]

It appears that some recent images of yours have been autoconverted from other existing ones to change to a different fileformat. Or, at best, your image is similarly exported or converted from the actual/cited source underlying the older file. For example, File:NK1145.jpg was cited to be from pubchem, and then later you uploaded File:NK1145.png that appears identical except for JPG vs PNG. That's certainly a better fileformat, and obviously allowable by the PD licensing of the original. But (assuming my analysis of the creation is correct) the result is not, as your upload claims, truely "your own work". It's a derivative of someone else's who deserves credit even if that source allows you to use the image as you wish. But also, simple skeletal drawings of chemicals are almost always PD by their very nature, PD-chem, as you note, so you can't assert the more restrictive terms. DMacks (talk) 04:11, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Macks, actually, some I liked how they appeared so I re-drew them in a program besides my usual Marvin Beans to fit the latter ones old appearance; one which began as a screenshot of work found elsewhere. I've been working with user Edgar181 to get them all made as .svgs that conform wholly to WP chemistry MoS. But I assure you, if it says my work, I modeled it closely on another; unless full emulation by design taken from the inspiration of another is considered therefore not truly original. ;-j Nagelfar (talk) 18:56, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks for confirming. And also for working towards even better/MOS-like ones! DMacks (talk) 22:21, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Carnricorn astrology symbol alternate.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.
