Hi, You should upload over the old files. It would save a lot of work for admins. Thanks, Yann (talk) 13:15, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:2 Rgt. de chasseurs à cheval.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

No required license templates were detected at this file page. Please correct it, or if you have any questions please check my FAQ or contact me on my talk page. Yours sincerely, Jarekt (talk) 17:40, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

Your renaming requests

Hello Centenier, I really have no problem to work at your renaming requests, but in my opinion you are so active here, that you can get the filemover-rights here. You can try it, if you want to. Kind regards, --Brackenheim (talk) 16:12, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi Centenier, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

File renamed: File:TMW - Gebirgshaubitze.jpg → File:TMW - 10 cm Panzerhaubitze M 99.jpg

This renaming is a nonsense, (Panzerhaubitze=Self-propelled howizer) please se museum caption in image and revert. Thanks --Demostene119 (talk) 08:16, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

The Name ist certainly not nonsense, because it's correct as the Austria-Hungarian Army called this gun, mounted in the cupolas of the Border Fortresses as «10 cm Panzerhaubitze M99» - but for to avoid mistakes I wil change it again -- Centenier (talk) 10:04, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
Can you provide a reference for your claims? The caption of the museum states Gebirgshaubitze, where did you read otherwise? --Demostene119 (talk) 10:39, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
  • certainly = “k.u.k. Befestigungsanlagen in Tirol und Kärnten” (E.A.Grestenberger) Vienna 2000 ISBN 3-7046-1558-7 Pages 161 & 162
10 cm Panzerhaubitze M99 F
10 cm Panzerhaubitze M99 B
10 cm Panzerhaubitze M5
10 cm Panzerhaubitze M6 F

--Centenier (talk) 10:59, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

As I can guess, your book talk about the fortress gun, (or is there a picture of the same gun portrayed?) there isn't any evidence that the gun portrayed is a fortress gun and not a mountain field gun. Moreover on the barrel you can see the mounting of the iron sight that is not present in the fortress mountings (as you can see here.--Demostene119 (talk) 11:55, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
For sure is not the fortress version, look at the trunnion, they are half size of the fortress version.--Demostene119 (talk) 12:46, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Okay - you have right so far, but it's named “10cm Feldhaubitze M99”, not mountain howitzer for evidence: --Centenier (talk) 13:15, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Question

Feldkirch - Brothers in arms

Hi. Why did you remove the word "Türkische" from the File:Batterie in Feuerstellung bei Kocina. (BildID 15539474).jpg? Was the original source wrong? --E4024 (talk) 08:41, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Indeed, are no Turks but Austria-Hungarians -- Centenier (talk) 08:43, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Yep. We know that Turks fought together with Austrians in "Galizien"; are there pictures of this here in Commons? --E4024 (talk) 08:53, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Yes - take a look onto Category:Kriegspressequartier Alben 1914-1918 (Türkische Truppen) (categorizing is still in progress) -- Centenier (talk) 08:55, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

I noticed some difficulties in renaming this file. Correct spelling would be File:Wiedererrichtete Brücke über den Tagliamento in Ariis 2.11.17. (BildID 15610554).jpg. That would work but it would't match fully. Wiedererrichtet = built up again. However, the image shows a bridge that looks like a temporary makeshift construction, so Behelfsbrücke (without Wiedererrichtet) would fit better in my opinion. Best, --Achim (talk) 19:52, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
