Thank you for providing images to the commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on the commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:

 • Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
 • State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another wikipedia user link his local user page.
 • If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
 • Add a Copyright tag - images without a appropriate license tag will be deleted.
 • Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate Categories, so it can be found by others.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki.

It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.

Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more Information, have a look at Commons:Licensing, Commons:criteria for inclusion and the Community Portal. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the village pump. Thank you. -- Joolz 23:03, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading images from other wikipedias[edit]

Hi !
If you upload images from other wikipedias pleas eupload the full size image and not only a small version/thumbnail of it ! Please copy source/creator info and use a correct license tag, then place the NowCommons template to the original image. --Denniss 13:29, 14 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Fixation plaque isostatique.svg[edit]

Bonjour,

This media may be deleted.

I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use GFDL to release it under the multilicense GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or PD-self to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you.

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Hello, Cdang!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

(Maybe you should answer in English, I'm just exercising my French. Could be possible that I dont understand you :) Cordialement, Amtiss (talk) 15:07, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hyperstatique ![edit]

Shearing force and bending moment[edit]

Bonjour Cdang! (That is about the limit of my French.)

I send you my compliments for the excellent diagram you created and inserted in the Wikipedia article on bending moment - File:Poutre flexion trois points diagrammes.svg (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bending_moment)

I have one comment. The diagram shows the bending moment having a positive slope until it reaches its maximum value, and then a negative slope. That is correct and it is the usual way of depicting bending moment. One important relationship between shearing force T and bending moment M is that T is equal to the derivative of M. However, the diagram shows the shearing force having negative sign until the center of the beam, and then positive. This is opposite to the slope of M. The way shearing force is depicted does not conform to the usual convention on positive and negative shearing forces.

I request that you refine the diagram a little by changing the sign of T so it is positive from the origin to the center, and then negative from the center to the end of the beam.

Thank you for any assistance. I can be contacted on Wikipedia (English) at User talk:Dolphin51

Thanks for uploading File:Types de phenomenes de roulement.svg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Plans d existence ADD PH 1978[edit]

Hello, I think there is a problem in the description of the File:Plans d existence ADD PH 1978.svg: the number 9 is described as "Septième ciel/Seven Heavens" and the names of the Outer Planes are numbered upt to 24. I think the number 9 is the Astral Plane (I dont' known the french name :D) and the Seven Heavens is in reality the number 10 (and the other name shifted one place down).--Moroboshi (talk) 19:52, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Moroboshi: you're probably right. I'll check this tonight (French local time) if possible. Thanks for pointing this out.

Strukturbericht @ afwiki[edit]

Bonjour Cdang,

Cordialement Jcwf (talk) 04:27, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jcwf:
Goedendag
(
We can go on in English if you prefere
)
Ander tale
)
. Si tu cliques sur «  Modifier les liens » (
Wysig skakels
)
, cela t'amène à la page Wikidata.
J'espère que cela répond à ta demande.

J'ai créé Category:Strukturbericht D1₃. (D'accord?)
Cdang (talk) 12:40, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cdang (talk) 13:22, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cdang (talk) 16:04, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Category discussion warning

Development has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Deprecated template[edit]

Hello Cdang, thank you for uploading fine SVG images.

You are tagging them with Inkscape, ignoring that it signals bad usage with a red color.

When you continue with that habit, you are leaving it to others to correct the wrong usage of a template deprecated since many years. I corrected your last uploads. I am using a script which does a lot, including all the cleaning up (remove of Inkscape and Cdang whose functions are integrated in the correct template). When you will use also the script, your files would be tagged in a correct way. When you will not use it, please at least obstain from using the deprecated Inkscape template! Stay well, -- sarang사랑 16:37, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sarang@ sorry for the disturbance. Please tell me where I can find the help page showing the adequate templates. But please do not remove the template:cdang as it helps me finding my media.
Regards
Cdang (talk) 17:23, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Above I gave you the link Template:Image generation#Script_support how to install the script (use the script of Sarang, not of Perhelion!); when it is active you will see in the "Dimension" cell of the upload history the link →SVG Igen, when you click it the script works - editing the file description. When you need further support, just ask me.
Your Template:Cdang will be included, you need not to write it explicitely to catagegorize; see your last File:Semaines ISO de l'année 2021.svg, the categorization occurs because of the parameter |u=cdang in the template. -- sarang사랑 05:26, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You may create a User:Cdang/commons.js and copy the content of User:RicHard-59/commons.js just as-it-is. -- sarang사랑 05:52, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Because the Cdang replacement is only done by the script for SVG files, you need your template for your other files; therefore it will remain. It will not do any harm if the categorization occurs doublewise, by the script and in addition unnecessarily by the template. -- sarang사랑 07:01, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

English: I wanted to say thank you for your 2013 correction of the template One California area code to correct the French translation. Since I am only a native writer of English, I have to use automated translation from Google or Bing. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's subpar, but hey, it's free and at least I made the effort to at least try to accomodate nonnative speakers of Emglish. So, anyway, thanks for your help.

Oh…, Well, thanx a lot EllieBellie25. I'm a bit surprised because I usually don't try to make "beautiful" pictures, just useful and readable pictures. Is there a specific picture you appreciate?
Cdang (talk) 07:51, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You did a very good job and can be proud of your hard work. To me they are very clear and explain the theory perfectly, while also being aesthetic. The "materials science-ones" are very useful for Wikipedia, because the quality of those pictures really stand out in that topic. EllieBellie25 (talk) 21:39, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Those ones are quite easy: regular shapes, flat colours or a bit of shading. I try to make the pictures I would like to have when I was a student ^_^ So I'm happy you appreciate and that it is useful to someone. Kind regards.

ʽːCategory:Strukturberichtʼ[edit]

Bonjour Cdang.

Cdang (talk) 10:29, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Merci, Cdang.
̴̴ Jcwf (talk) 10:56, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
