Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

images without proper licensing

You put the warning on my page regarding the tags on messages. I have put the delete tags on messages which impossible to date properly for example

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Genrikh_Yagoda_and_Ida_Averbakh_1922.jpg

Please explain how you can date the image and verify its licensing. --Armenius vambery (talk) 10:46, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

This is a polite reply.
This is not a proper source: http://www.vnikitskom.ru/antique/auction/36/13831/ and it does not allow to establish when the image was created and by whom. It could be a forgery. --Armenius vambery (talk) 12:10, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
I will open discussion on the image talk page.--Armenius vambery (talk) 12:11, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

this image was published and the author is known. the reference and the licensing is incorrect.--Armenius vambery (talk) 10:48, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

this image has the known publication date and the author. the information in tag is incorrect and misleading.--Armenius vambery (talk) 10:50, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

you reverted my tag to delete this image. please explain how you can determine the source info for this image using the current tag. --Armenius vambery (talk) 11:20, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

  • The fact that the files you uploaded are nominated for deletion and now deleted, could not be a reason for starting massive unreasonable speedy deletion nominations. You may nominate certain files for deletion, using the regular DR procedure. I would strongly recommend that you start with one or two files, not more. Sealle (talk) 12:13, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
In fact I support that my images were deleted. I sure that all my nominations are correct. But lets start one by one, I have time. File:Genrikh Yagoda and Ida Averbakh 1922.jpg is the most apparent candidate for deletion. The reference to antique shop which tries to sell it does not establish ether date or author. Explain me when it was created and by whom? --Armenius vambery (talk) 12:20, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Exhibit No 01 Alexander Rosenfeld.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Thanks for uploading File:Exhibit No 02 Alexander Rosenfeld.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

Hi! It has come to my attention that you have removed a warning which says that a file doesn't have enough information about the source or license conditions. Nevertheless, it seems to me that this information is still missing and I have restored the tag. You may either add the required information or, if you think that required information is already given, put the image up for a deletion request so that it won't automatically be deleted. Thank you.

Unblock request declined

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without discussion.

Request reason: "the action is unjustified and has no proper policy ground I have edited the upload providing the proper copyright information e.g. proper request ticket number, exacly as required by the operational procedure, when the user Лушников Владимир Александрович started to put the tags on the page. He needs to be blocked from disrupting, not me. Anyone has to be able to finish the quality job!!! Unblock."
Decline reason: "The block is grounded in policy. Indeed, Edit warring is explicitly identified as a common block case at COM:BLOCK. This is something of which you are aware, as you have been previously blocked for edit warring. Further, whether you find that label agreeable or not, repeatedly removing missing permission templates ([2], [3], [4]) is disruptive (and blocks are "for behaviour that has the potential to damage Commons"). If it is not clear, adding verbiage that you have sent permission to OTRS does not resolve the issue. You will note that the template says to "sen[d] a declaration of consent"; it does not say "send a declaration of consent, and remove this template." Having provided a declaration does not necessarily mean that it is valid; the OTRS volunteer who processes the ticket will remove the template (or arrange for the image to be restored if it has been deleted) if the declaration is in order. COM:BLOCK requires an understanding of the issue and a credible commitment to discontinue--the opposite of this obstinance ("He needs to be blocked from disrupting") and borderline personal attacks ("You have nothing better to do?") Unblock request declined

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without discussion.

Request reason: "I have edited the upload providing the proper copyright information. One needs to finish the job, then another Лушников Владимир Александрович edits by inserting the tag on the page where I work, how unfinished job can be edited and the author blocked by Yann ? One has to have the reasonable time to input all the necessary information. Is it not reasonable to wait for 24 hours before starting to edit? I did asked to finish. Also you can properly ask me: I answer all the questions."
Decline reason: "As per above, COM:BLOCK requires an understanding of the issue (edit warring/disruptive removal of templates) and a credible commitment to discontinue. This is not a process in which you repeat unresponsive unblock requests. Continuing to do so may result in the removal of your ability to edit your talk page. -- thank you very much Эlcobbola. How can I appeal your decision? --Armenius vambery (talk) 16:40, 15 January 2019 (UTC) ---Эlcobbola the policy is about the common sense describe the finished job and the the finished page! How can one put tags on the page which is not finished? I currently worked on the edit and explained properly to Лушников Владимир Александрович on his page. I have not use any of the offensive language. Therefore, the actions are unjustified and there is no basic for this! I have the right to appeal, please let me know how to realize my rights? Thank you. --Armenius vambery (talk) 16:49, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

I am the appeal. Yann blocked you, you appealed the block via the unblock template, and I found the block valid and your understanding non-existent. I've also been perfectly clear on what is needed from you. I would recommend you read IDHT, reread the above critically, and reflect on your actions. Эlcobbola talk 17:00, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Эlcobbola thanks for the fast reply. I read it carefully. Once again: in the time of upload, just when I inputted the information, another user started to put the tags on the page. Would it make sense (no policy needed) to wait for 24 hours before editing? Seems like the most basic approach. And how the war could be over unfinished page? I asked him to allow me to finish. See his talk page. --Armenius vambery (talk) 17:06, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
