G-Dragon Infinite Challenge 2015.jpg

Hi. have you not checked the archive page? That's a cc-by licence right there at the bottom of the page if you hover over the small circle icon with the person in it. This website was created by a fan photographer who attended concerts and events with a pro camera. It's a common thing in Korea. That's why we archived the source page, to have proof of licence. Xia (talk) 13:03, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

@XiaYes, I did. But all the photos cannot be displayed on the archive page. I was unable to verify if it was published on that website and I also noticed its source file has been deleted. If you think it's necessary to discuss it in depth, please change the speedy deletion into a regular deletion discussion. Larryasou (talk) 13:35, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

Please understand that my English skills are not good. In the case of (조경철천문대.jpg), the link I originally used was marked with CCL.119.204.148.84 07:16, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

@GksyyCC License has different versions. The mobile view doesn't make it clear which version number is used while the desktop view does. Larryasou (talk) 07:49, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
After accessing through the link I posted, click the (cc) icon next to the date to see CCL information. Also, the deletion request I made was a mistake.Gksyy (talk) 08:02, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Gksyy Please don't remove deletion tag before the discussion closed. You should express your opinion on the deletion request page Commons:Deletion requests/File:조경철천문대.jpg Larryasou (talk) 08:37, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Okay. Also, the reason the URL is long is to make it easier to check the CCL, so please do not shorten it. Gksyy (talk) 08:48, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Gksyy The short URL does show the license at the bottom right corner. It also links to the full text of the terms cc-by-2.0-kr. But the mobile URL dones't represent the original size photo and complete license. Larryasou (talk) 09:02, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Gksyy If we can't reach a consensus, I suggest to ask a experienced user, generally a admin, to reach a verdict. Larryasou (talk) 10:52, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
OK. Since I only work on mobile devices, I didn't know if I could check the CCL using that URL. And the link to File:J.Fla ..jpg has been modified. Also, it seems that File:정세온1.jpg was uploaded incorrectly, so it needs to be deleted. Gksyy (talk) 03:04, 23 September 2023 (UTC)

Android screenshots

Hello! Can you make more free Android screenshots? Артём 13327 (talk) 09:43, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

@Артём 13327 Sure. Please tell me what kind of screenshots you want. Larryasou (talk) 10:13, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Android 12 and 13, since the screenshots that are uploaded here unfortunately probably contain non-free wallpapers. Артём 13327 (talk) 10:20, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
And if possible, take these screenshots but with Russian localization Артём 13327 (talk) 10:31, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
OK. It's gonna take a while... Larryasou (talk) 10:37, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you Артём 13327 (talk) 10:38, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Артём 13327 Please see my upload history. Larryasou (talk) 12:27, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Do you have Android 12 or 12.1 in your screenshot? Артём 13327 (talk) 12:50, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Артём 13327 It is 12 version. File:Android 12 screenshot (en).png. Larryasou (talk) 12:54, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
What versions of Android emulators, besides 5.1, 6, 12 and 13, have you downloaded? So it would be desirable to replace many Android screenshots Артём 13327 (talk) 13:08, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
By the way, in the screenshots there are icons for YouTube, Chrome and Messages from Google. But considering that the icons of these applications are stored separately here, perhaps this is not a problem. Артём 13327 (talk) 13:16, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
I think that's enough. Do you need more? Larryasou (talk) 13:17, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Is it possible to take a screenshot of 12.1? Still, 12 and 12.1 are different, it seems that in 12.1 they changed the default wallpaper to the ones that are now in Android 13 Артём 13327 (talk) 13:32, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Version 12.1 is visually identical to version 13,no difference. Larryasou (talk) 13:36, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

Uploaded Unsplash Copyright-free Photos that have been deleted

The content I shared has specific CC license that allow them to be used freely without the permission. I have provided the source I have obtained each from. The Unsplash is allows all its content to be used for commercial and non-commercial purposes as stated in its License.

I believe I have followed all copyright usage instructions and I have provided license information for each source I have used.

To elaborate more, Unsplash photos are licensed under the Unsplash License, which allows users to download, copy, modify, distribute, perform, and use the photos for free, including for commercial purposes, without permission from or attributing the photographer or Unsplash. more information on https://unsplash.com/license Farshadsadri (talk) 09:26, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

@Farshadsadri I'm sorry I forget to explain why on your page. The Unsplash license has a term that Photos cannot be sold without significant modification, that is, if you upload photos to Commons from Unsplash as is, commercial use of them are not allowed. And the community has made it clear that media published on Unsplash from 5 June 2017 onwards is not considered to be freely licensed and can't be accepted on Commons. Please see {{Unsplash}} for details. Larryasou (talk) 09:47, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you the explaining the reasons, I was not aware of the 20177 CC0 rule. Farshadsadri (talk) 10:20, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

Historic England User Photos

Hi, you've flagged a few photos I've uploaded from Historic England's comment page. Their terms and conditions page says "You (or the copyright owner) remain the owner of copyright in your Contribution but in addition to clause 5.3 (see paragraph above) you agree that users of the Website may copy, modify, edit, reproduce, display, publish or otherwise make use of all or part of your Contribution on a royalty free basis." - https://historicengland.org.uk/terms/website-terms-conditions/missing-pieces-contribution-terms/ - section 5. This, to me, (I may be incorrect) is like a Commons Zero waiver.Bellminsterboy (talk) 21:25, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

@Bellminsterboy Thank you for your explanation. I‘m not aware of these terms because they are actually not cc0. I will remove the warning later and update the correct license. Larryasou (talk) 21:33, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
@Bellminsterboy BTW, do you have the web page url where the image File:Worcester Cathedral from Fort Royal.jpg is displayed? That is, the web page containing the file. Larryasou (talk) 22:24, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
Hi, thank you. Is this what you're after? https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1389728?section=comments-and-photos - might have to scroll down a bit to see it. Bellminsterboy (talk) 22:32, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
@Bellminsterboy Thank you. It's best to provide the link to the web page in case someone might be interested in these photo and want to communicate the author. Larryasou (talk) 02:49, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for updating the photos concerned. I thought that was the end of the matter but deletion requests seem to have been reopened for all of them, and I'm a little confused as to why? I thought we'd decided the terms allow for any use, with the copyright remaining with the photographer. Thanks. Bellminsterboy (talk) 23:39, 30 September 2023 (UTC)

@Bellminsterboy In fact, I asked an experienced user about the terms, who believe it's not a copyright-free license. According the terms, a free permission is only granted to the website and its users while Wikimedia commons demands the author allows anyone to use the material for any purpose. 0x0a (talk) 04:43, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

Please, add in your edit comment that you added "license review"

You commented that you removed duplicate (license), but you also added a license review tag, which you did not mention. Here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Li_Keqiang%27s_Voice.ogg&diff=prev&oldid=813578988

There are "You Tube" specific tags. Thank you, -- Ooligan (talk) 23:31, 20 October 2023 (UTC)

@Ooligan OK, I'll improve my comment. Thanks for the reminder. 0x0a (talk) 02:44, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
Why not use the specific "YouTube Review needed" tag on the file (mentioned above) found here? Category:YouTube review needed.
It appears that you are familiar with that tag previously- See subject heading, "The file" here: User:0x0a/Archive20-22#The file -- Ooligan (talk) 03:01, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
@Ooligan Just simply forgot. 0x0a (talk) 03:10, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

Mahdi0765 (talk) 12:44, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

@Mahdi0765 Hi, here is an example. The website says "All Content by Mehr News Agency is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License." Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) is an acceptable licensing permission, so the photo is OK to upload. A counterexample is Iranpress. Because the website states "Copyright 2023 Iranpress. All rights reserved", so you should not upload image from here. You may need to check this page to see which licenses are acceptable. Generally, the vast majority of images found on the Internet are copyright-protected and may not be uploaded, please see COM:NETC also. 0x0a (talk) 12:57, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
Thank Mahdi0765 (talk) 14:05, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
@Mahdi0765 Feel free to ask me or ask others on help page if your have any question. 0x0a (talk) 14:14, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
بله دوست عزیز حتما در مواقع مورد نیاز از شما کمک خواهم گرفت Mahdi0765 (talk) 14:20, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

عذرخواهی

بابت اتفاقات پیش آمده عذر خواهی میکنم هدف بنده فقط بهبود ویکی پدیا بود از این پس فقط عکس هایی که خودم گرفته ام را بارگزاری خواهم کرد Hossein simaei (talk) 10:47, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

@Hossein simaei Uploading your own photos is welcome. You can also upload freely licensed Internet images after understanding the Wikimedia Commons license policy. If you have any questions, feel free to ask others in the help desk. Most importantly, stay honest. 0x0a (talk) 11:11, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

British Bulldog picture.

I acted in good faith I took that picture on my phone and since it was a phone photo I thought I could use it. I was not warned about uploading pictures for copyright. this happened in my early years of wikipedia. I joined because I liked how the album pictures and tracks are displayed and contributed to some articles. I was told I can only use the album covers. Just clearing the misunderstanding. In regards to Davey Boy he deserves a respectable picture and not the picture that was displayed. Thank you. Sc30002001 (talk) 02:48, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

@Sc30002001 Hello, this photo is copyrighted by Tim Roney. Wikimedia Commons takes copyright very seriously and cannot accept copyrighted content without written permission from the copyright holder. Thank you. 0x0a (talk) 03:17, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

The file has been changed to a screenshot

The file, File:Fifty Fifty Keena at Icheon Airport.jpg is ready to be put in the Fifty Fifty Wikipedia page. Last time I used a picture from a different video but this however is from the stated video. As there are no other members left. It’s crucial to change this because Fifty Fifty is no longer a quartet and only Keena is left. Thatsoddd (talk) 09:47, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

@Thatsoddd Well, I don't care where it is used. Just to add the correct source and copyright tag. 0x0a (talk) 10:20, 6 December 2023 (UTC)

BasiGo File

The file, of a passenger holding the board of pioneer electric bus has been updated. I have reviewed the requirements and see it it is a valid Image allowed for re-use of others from the host site. The organization does NOT have any public communication regarding it's media copyrights Serrwinner (talk) 05:55, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

@Serrwinner Twitter doesn't permit commercial use of content on its site, and its terms of service are clearly incompatible with Wikimedia's licensing policy. I've restored the deletion mark, if you insist on your opinion, please click "Challenge speedy deletion..." instead of removing the mark directly. 0x0a (talk) 06:09, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
I have reviewed the terms of use of media posted on X(formerly twitter) and the site says it is prohibited to post the media without the consent on the author of the media. However I have emailed the author(BasiGo) and awaiting their consent. In the meantime I would like to change the speedy deletion tag to regular nomination for deletion. Serrwinner (talk) 06:34, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
@Serrwinner OK, wish you success. 0x0a (talk) 06:36, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Trevor Ombija file

I have emailed the owner of the image (Nation Media group) to allow the use of the image on the site. This is in accordance to their terms of use. I am currently waiting for the response. In the mean time I would like to the change the tag from speedy deletion to regular nomination for deletion. Serrwinner (talk) 06:15, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

@Serrwinner No problem. 0x0a (talk) 06:21, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi, Could please link the category with the Wikidata item (i.e. Category:Pu Dong)? And also File:溥僩丙子夏日寫生.jpg. I am confused by the spelling. Thanks, Yann (talk) 19:11, 10 December 2023 (UTC)

@Yann Sorry, I confused the author with another person. But this does not affect the work entering the public domain. 0x0a (talk) 03:43, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
Please also close COM:Deletion requests/File:紅豆館主.png. 0x0a (talk) 04:10, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

Is it your intent to DR the other files?

I think it is, from your edit summaries, but I'm not sure. 🇺🇦 Timtrent 🇺🇦 talk to me 🇺🇦 20:09, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

@Timtrent These are the same issue, so there is no need to open another DR. If the conclusion is delete, I will remember to mark them as speedydelete. 0x0a (talk) 20:19, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
I was thinking that your intent was to cluster them in the same DR, but your approach is reasonable too. 🇺🇦 Timtrent 🇺🇦 talk to me 🇺🇦 20:22, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi. I removed the speedy deletion tag as these files are free on Flickr - which you could have checked. If there is doubt about a file from Flickr it needs to go to a Deletion request not speedy Gbawden (talk) 06:11, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

Sorry, slip of hand. 0x0a (talk) 06:17, 16 December 2023 (UTC)
