Regarding Apollovvv

I wanted to bring your attention to User:Apollovvv.

Recently, this user has uploaded these files:

These are the files he uploaded to Commons, via Flickr under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.0 Generic license. However, the examination of Chinese copyright laws states that official photographs of politicians of the Chinese Communist Party (with blue background) are not in public domain. Hence, this user is engaging in license laundering.

Hope you can take action against the user because he was warned if he engages in copyright violations, he would be blocked. - Vaishakh1234 (talk) 09:16, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

@Vaishakh1234: Thanks for reporting the issue. I agree with deleting the user's other Chinese official images for Flickrwashing, and you may consider reporting the user at COM:ANB, along with a request to list renwu66 on COM:QFI, regards.廣九直通車 (talk) 09:43, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

I tried to report renwu66 in COM:OFI, but the bot in COM:QFI is failing to retireve the information to list the user. Hope you can do something to resolve it. Vaishakh1234 (talk) 22:34, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

I want to add some images from Flickr but I'm unsure

HI 廣九直通車, I want to add some 2 safe images from Flickr. They are at these links below; https://www.flickr.com/photos/13255593@N06/3843041256/

The main category for these images is Category Besease shrine. I'm unsure however if I should proceed and upload these images because of how trick the copyright system is. @Kwesi Yema: As for the current moment, you can't upload these images, as their copyrights are all rights reserved by their photographers. If you wish to upload these file, you need to contact the photographers (such as by registering a Flickr account (if you didn't have one) and leaving a comment under the image) and ask them to release their images under a free license. Otherwise, UploadWizard will reject your upload and inform you that the license is not accepted on Wikimedia Commons.
As a rule of thumb, the following CC licenses (that can be changed on Flickr by the photographer) are acceptable on Commons. The licenses and their corresponding symbols are listed here for your reference:

After you confirmed that the photographer have changed the license to a free one, you can then upload these images to Commons.
Apart from photographer-held copyright, you should also pay extra attention to Ghanaian images that contains buildings and artworks (like painting and sculpture). Under Ghanaian copyright law it is lawful for the designers/authors of buildings/artworks to claim copyright if their works are included in images (in copyright terminology, no freedom of panorama/FOP), and images that have such problems will be deleted once spotted. That said, as the buildings are old (>150 years), their design is within the public domain (i.e. FOP doesn't bother).

Greetings 廣九直通車, I have some more images I want to upload. Their sources say they are safe but I want to make sure they are truly safe. The first is this image from wiki gallery https://www.wikigallery.org/wiki/painting_217043/Joseph-Dupuis/Adai-religious-festival-at-the-court-of-the-King-of-Ashanti-in-March-1820 Please have a look to see if I can download and upload this image.

@Kwesi Yema: Thanks for your queries, and they are safely in public domain (both British painters died more than 70 years ago, and both published before 1923). Please feel free to proceed uploading these images to Commons. For the first image (in which you provided from Wiki Gallery), I do not suggest you to download the image directly from that website due to the big watermark. Instead I've found a link from the New York Public Library. The scan is still blurry, but at least it doesn't have a watermark, and it's resolution is better.
Please use this permission template: {{PD-old-auto-1996|deathyear=<Year of death>|country=United Kingdom}}. Take note that first painting was created by James Wyld (1812-1887), and the second one created by William Hutton (1797-1860).廣九直通車 (talk) 10:51, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
Hi 廣九直通車, Thanks for clearing my doubts. However, due to my inexperience with uploading images from the Public domain, I succumbed to pressure and failed to upload it. I apologize if this will be a bother, but can you please upload these images? I shall learn valuable information from that in order to be able to do it on my own next time. 關於圖片版權一問

你好，小弟想請教閣下如果一張來自Flickr的圖片上傳至維基媒體後，原圖片作者在Flickr上更改了版權資訊至「保留所有權利」，那請問該圖片應否以版權更問題為由在維基媒體上刪除？謝謝。 -User3204 21:48, 5 March 2023 (UTC)

@User3204: 創意共享許可不可撤銷，原作者把Flickr上的版權資料改回「版權所有」不影響有關照片在共享上的使用，因此不應刪除。你可以以{{Flickr-change-of-license}}標記有關檔案以提醒其他用戶。廣九直通車 (talk) 04:04, 6 March 2023 (UTC)

請問如何識別那些圖片是否侵權？

你好，小弟想請教閣下如何識別那些圖片是屬於涉侵權類？因為小弟發現近年維基媒體上多了很多只有固定大小又低清的圖片，而且看起來很像是從其他網站下載的（例如Bestune T55 img01.jpg及Geely Jiaji 1.jpg）但我又拿不出證據證明是侵權圖片（我用了百度、Google、tineye也找不到），請問該如何識別是侵權圖片？謝謝 -User3204 04:07, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

@User3204: 說實話，以個人經驗來說如果沒證據的話也只好假定善意，畢竟一些功能機的解像度確實有限而且也不帶EXIF。不過如果有關用戶以前的侵權記錄實在太離譜的話，有時候我也會一次過將這種可疑圖片一次過提刪。廣九直通車 (talk) 13:45, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
