Thank you for providing images to the commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on the commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:

• Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
• State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another wikipedia user link his local user page.
• If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
• Add a Copyright tag - images without a appropriate license tag will be deleted.
• Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate Categories, so it can be found by others.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki.

Blackfriars Tube image

Thanks for your message about adding a category to my Blackfriars tube picture. To be very honest with you, no, I won't be doing that. The Image Help says we can add a category or put the pic in a Commons article - "Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories so it can be found by others".

Because I find the Category system too confusing I have chosen to add my pics to all relevant articles instead, in this case London and London Underground. Sorry to appear negative but either I use the Articles system or I will have to go back to uploading to Wikipedia itself. OK, no worries....I don't remember exactly what I said but it wasn't directed at you personally, just a grumbling to myself, basically. Hello, you put Image:Muybridge_race_horse_gallop_animated.gif to "Featured pictures". In the discussion, one user criticized that in this animation, the ground is moving up and down. He was right, so I made an improved version, shown at the right side. In further discussion the modified version was preferred, no one opposed. You mean the small description you included with the images? Sorry, but undeleting files is not possible at the moment - so maybe you can produce a small description from the top of your head - luckily it was only one picture. I removed the deletion tags from the two top lines of pictures - you can remove the rest of the tags yourself since there's no shortage of things to do for me here. The "Category:Operas by verdi" is unecessary, because there is a "Category:Operas by Verdi" with a capital "V". This is also applying to the article "Operas by verdi".

Please don't flood my talk page with these msgs. I've been away and the tags keep changing all the time. BTW this particular image has txt underneath it saying it has been released into PD. But again, I will add the tags (as you may have gathered, I'm not exactly a newcomer) as soon as find the relevant info (about the tags). Whoa, I think you were a bit quick on the trigger with this one!!! I had a look when I voted for it on FPC and I think it's OK. Look at how high res it is! A bank would never provide that kind of image (can you find it on their website? OK if you can, fair enough). I think the summary is just saying what the building is, not who the source is. Yeah, the deciding factor was that the original uploader gave the bank's URL in the edit summary of his upload. And now when I think of it, it does look awfully lot like a promo shot the owner of the building would want to take (lights on in every window, outside nicely darkening to contrast with the lights...).
