Hello. Apologies if this message is not in your native language: please feel free to respond in the language of your choice. Thank you!

I am writing to you because we are looking for feedback for a new Wikimedia Foundation project, Structured Data Across Wikimedia (SDAW). SDAW is a grant-funded programme that will explore ways to structure content on wikitext pages in a way that will be machine-recognizable and -relatable, in order to make reading, editing, and searching easier and more accessible across projects and on the Internet. We are now focusing on designing and building image suggestion features for experienced users.

We have some questions to ask you about your experience with uploading images here on Wikimedia Commons and then adding them to Wikipedia. You can answer these questions on a specific feedback page on Mediawiki, where we will gather feedback. As I said, these questions are in English, but your answers do not need to be in English! You can also answer in your own language, if you feel more comfortable.

Once the collecting of feedback will be over, we will sum it up and share with you a summary, along with updated mocks that will incorporate your inputs.

Dreiborner Hochfläche[edit]

Du hast für den September 2019 eine eigene Kategorien angelegt, für allen anderen Jahre und Monate jedoch nicht. Das widerspricht komplett dem üblichen Vorgehen bei der Kategorisierung in geografischen Objekten entweder gar nichts oder aber alles in Jahreskategorien zu unterteilen. Hallo @GPSLeo: zunächst sei gesagt, ich bin noch nicht fertig und wurde gestern durch Besuch unterbrochen. Ich werde die restlichen Dreiborner Bilder von 2019 zeitnah (spätestens bis morgen) ebenfalls in die Jahreskategorie verschieben, da die Flut von mehr als 200 Bilder (!) die Hauptkategorie erschlägt und die anderen Bilder von anderen Usern damit völlig untergehen. Ich werde mal schauen, was sich von den restlichen Bildern anderer User ebenfalls in Jahreskategorien zusammenfassen lässt, sodass man einen Eindruck von der Dreiborner Fläche nach Jaherszeit erhält.
Nebenbei gesagt ist es eigentlich unüblich (natürlich nicht verboten), eine solche Menge von oftmals "fast gleichen" Bilder hochzuladen, aber es ist seitens den commons-Admins dringend empfohlen, dass Bilder im Prinzip des Kategorienbaums zusammengefasst werden sollten (gilt generell für commons). Zudem sind viele dieser Bilder von 2019 von teilweise außerordentlich schlechter Qualität was Sicht, Licht und Motiv anbelangt. Wir sind nicht das Privatalbum für Outdoorspezialisten, um eine Tour nachzuvollziehen. Ich mache auch oftmals Bilder von meinen Touren, sortiere aber zu Hause aus und lade nur die wirklich einprägsamsten hoch, die für Wikipedia auch einen Mehrwert darstellen und andere motivieren, gleiches zu tun. So @GPSLeo: , extra wegen Dir habe ich die Umkategorisierungen schneller fertig gestellt als gedacht. Die Seite Dreiborner Hochfläche ist quasi jetzt die Oberkategorie, zu der es mehrere sinnvolle Unterkategorien gibt sowie die restlichen nicht näher zu kategorisierenden Bilder (Unterkats in der Regel erst ab drei Bilder gleichen Themas). Es bleibt nun Dir überlasen, ob du zu der 294 Bilder starken Kat. "September 2019" noch Unterkats schaffen möchtest, um die jeweilige Örtlichkeit oder Thematik näher zu spezialisieren und damit die Bilderflut etwas übeschaubarer zu machen — aber das ist dann Dein Bier. Ähnlich sind wir bereits vor einigen Jahren zum Thema Hohes Venn verfahren, wo es ebenfalls Unterkats für die jeweiligen Vennbereiche gibt, wo aber auch rein touristische "Bilderreihen" von "Outdoorunternehmungen" wie beispielsweise hier in einer separaten Unterkat erfasst wurden. Ich bitte um Verständnis, aber so ist es für alle besser und eigentlich im Wiki auch Usus.

NLP Eifel und Namenskonvention[edit]

Ich hatte dich darauf hingewiesen, bei er Erstellung von Unterkategorien nach Jahren und Monaten bitte die Konventionen einzuhalten also: Wenn Jahreskategorien dann für jedes Jahr aus dem es Fotos gibt und Entsprechendes auch bei der Erstellung von Monatskategorien. Das Benennungsschema solcher Kategorien ist "Name der Hauptkategorie" + in YYYY oder bei monatsgenauer Aufteilung "Name der Hauptkategorie" + in + "Monatsname auf Englisch" + YYYY. Außerdem hast du Category:Erkensruhr valley in die Category:Nationalpark Eifel geschoben. Das Tal liegt allerdings, bis auf kleinere Bereiche und die Hänge, gar nicht im Nationalpark. Also bei allem Respekt, es steht nirgends geschrieben, dass wir nicht Jahreskats nehmen dürfen und ich habe mich hier bzgl. Obersee - wie auch zuvor auf der Dreiborner Hochfläche - deshalb für eine Jahreskat entschieden, damit deine "bildnerisches Tourenprotokoll" zusammenhängend bleibt (ich hätte die Kat auch "Obersee (LEOgps)" bezeichnen können, aber das wäre mir zuviel der Aufmerksamkeit für Dich.
Bei der Umgebung Erkensruhr habe ich versucht, die unterschiedlichen "Abschnitte" twl. anhand von bestehenden Kats kategorisch zu erfassen, sowie ich sie auch persönlich kenne.
Darüber hinaus kann es kann nicht angehen, dass "Oberkats (wie z.B. Obersee) dermaßen überladen sind (wiederum mehr als 200 Bilder alleine von Dir) dass alle anderen Bilder der anderen User völlig untergehen! Hinzu kommt noch, dass die Masse Deiner Bilder - tut mir leid - keine wirkliche Bereicherung der Wikipedia sind, sondern oftmals eher dunkel und trübsinnig (Bindfädenregenschauern...) und nichtssagend sind, vor allem dann, wenn von einem Standpunkt mehrere fast gleiche Bilder hochgeladen wurden. Weniger ist hier mehr und im wiki sollte man sich für das Wesentliche und Aussagekräftige entscheiden, nicht für die Masse. Wir sind nicht das Protokollbuch einer Tagesetappe! Wenn Du so auf den Artikelseiten verfahren würdest, würde vieles radikal gelöscht werden, leider nicht auf commons
Im Übrigen kenne ich die "nahe" Eifel und das Venn wie meine Westentasche, liebe sie über alles und bin dort viel sowohl mit dem Rad als auch zu Fuß unterwegs, auch auf Schleich- und Nebenpfaden. Auch ich mache Fotos, aber nur bei bestem Wetter, bester Sicht und richtiger Perspektive und wähle vorher zu Hause aus, was würdig ist, hochgeladen zu werden.
Ich werde weiterhin vesuchen, soweit ich auf Deine Massenware in "meiner Umgebung" stoße, "etwas" Ordnung hineinzubringen - du kannst dies ja dann "verfeinern". Du bist lange genug dabei, um zu wissen, dass man Bilder kategorisch zusammenfassen soll, um jeden Außenstehenden einen neutralen Einblick in dem Angebot bieten zu können. Das gilt für Naturbilder genauso, wie wir es bei beispielsweise bei Stadtbildern grundsätzlich so handhaben. Ich bitte dies im Sinne der Wikipedia zu akzeptieren. Ich habe nicht geschrieben, dass du keine Jahresunterteilung erstellen darfst. Ich habe nur darauf hingewiesen, dass es gut Praxis ist entweder alles nach Jahren zu sortieren oder nichts und darauf, dass es ein festes Bennungsschema für solche Kategorien gibt. Kategorien sind im übrigen nicht der Ort für eine kuratierte Auswahl von Fotos, dafür gibt es Galerieseiten. Für Wikipedia sind die meisten der Fotos natürlich weniger interessant, Commons ist aber nicht die Fotosammlung von Wikipedia, sondern für alle möglich Zwecke. Die Fotos können etwa zur Geolokalisierung von anderen Fotos dienen oder für OpenStreetMap nützlich sein. Auch für wissenschaftliche Fragestellungen kann es sinnvoll sein, von wirklich jedem Busch entlang des Weges ein Foto zu haben. GPSLeo (talk) 06:42, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
@GPSLeo: Also zunächst einmal habe ich lediglich versucht, den Massenbefall von Bildern etwas kategorisch zu lichten. Ich schrieb Dir letztens bereits, dass es Dir überlassen ist, "meine" Jahreskategorien mit einem anderem Lemma umzubenennen/zu verschieben oder weiter zu unterteilen nach Wegeabschnitten (trail in...), etc. - ich mache nur die Lichtung, damit auch andere Bilder wieder gesehen/gefunden werden können.
Was openstreetmap anbelangt da kann ich Dir versichern, dass solche/Deine Massen-Fotos mit zweifelhafter Qualität dort nicht gut ankommen (ich arbeite bereits seit Jahren mit osm zusammen (und wir treffen uns regional zweimal im Jahr), dort werden nur Fotos übernommen, die eine Aussagekraft haben. Sämtliche Wegekreuz, Kirchen, Kapellen, und viele andere Objekte aus der Städteregion Aachen sind von mir auf osm übertragen worden, aber nicht solche "dunklen" Wegeabschnitte mit Regenschauerfeeling).
Dazu kommt, dass Dir - natürlich unbeabsichtigt - einige markante Fehler unterlaufen sind, so hast du z. B. das Staubecken Heimbach als Rurtalsperre bezeichnet, das sind aber zweierlei Paar Schuhe, oder den "Püngelbach" als "Pügelbach" bezeichnet (Lemmaänderung (5x) der einzelnen Dateien übelasse ich Dir). Beim Kermeter habe ich/bin ich dabei (habe heute nicht viel Zeit) Deine Bilder mit Lemmas zu benennen, die die unterschiedliche Örtlichkeit zeigen (Wildnistrail/Wilder Weg, Nordufer Urfttalsperre mit Subkategorie Felsformationen, etc... ), aber beim Lammersdorfer Venn werde ich wieder eine Sammelkat installieren, wobei auch dort viele Bilder sich mit dem Kutenhartvenn überschneiden, die ich nur anhand deiner gps-Daten differenzieren kann. Ganz große Baustelle ider der Rursee, der sowohl als "Rurtalsperre" als auch als "Rurstausee" (beides meint das Gleiche - ist aber nicht Deine Schuld) kategorisiert ist, da werde ich erst einmal die cats zusammenfassen und dann Deine wiederum neu sortieren, zur Zeit völlig unübersichtlich!!!
Arbeit über alles, dabei hättest du es uns allen doch so einfach machen können, wenn du nur etwas Verständnis für einen Kategorienbaum hättest und andere/vorhande Bilder nicht durch Massenbeschuss unterdrücken würdest. Du hast auch bei der Rurtalsperre aufgeräumt, dabei hast du Rurstausee und Rurtalsperre zusammengeworfen. Es macht aber Sinn für den See eine eigen Kategorie in der Kategorie des Talsperrenkomplexes, mit den verschiedenen Becken, zu haben. Es gibt auch für beide eigene Wikidataeinträge. das hatte ich auch so angekündigt, weil sich der Talsperrenkomplex der "Rurtalsperre" als solcher ausschließlich auf den Bereich zwischen Rurberg (mit dem Vorbecken Eiserbach) bis zur Staumauer Schwammenauel bezieht. Geographisch und technisch ist sowohl der Obersee (mit Vorbecken Einruhr), gespeist aus Rur und (!) Urft, sowie die Urftalsperre selbst jeweils ein eigenes Konstrukt mit eigenen Nutzungsbestimmungen und eigenen Dämmen (z. B. Paulusdamm), genauso wie die auch unterhalb der Rurtalsperre bei Schwammenauel liegende Stauanlage Heimbach. Die Cat-Trennung zwischen "Rurtalsperre" und "Rurtalsperre dam" ist weiterhin gewährleistet. Außerdem ist es für einen Außenstehenden/Ortsunkundigen/Tourist, etc. nicht zu vermitteln, ob er die Bilder bei Rurstaussee oder bei Rurtalsperre einsortieren soll, da gab es ein heilloses Durcheinander, beide cats. sind somit als redundant zu sehen.
Vertraue mir, ich kenne mich dort bestens aus, war dort mehr als 15 Jahre als Einsatzleiter der DRLG tätig, hatte Kontakt zu den jeweiligen Gemeindeverwaltungen, die diese Einteilung genauso handhaben, was nur leider in vielen Touristenprospekten anders/falsch dargestellt wird, in denen oftmals der Gesamtkomplex als Rurtalsperre deklariert wird.
Im Übrigen habe ich versucht, einen Großteil Deiner Bilder - wenn die Örtlichkeit einwandfrei (!) zu lokalisieren war - einer Subcat zuzuordnen, der große Rest liegt halt wieder in einer Jahreskategorie (views of Rursee Sept 2029). Es reicht mir jetzt, diese Aktion hat mir zwei Tage kostbare Freizeit gekostet und ich hätte etwas mehr Einsicht - vielleicht sogar eine konstruktive Mitarbeit gewünscht. Aber was spricht denn dagegen die Talsperrenkategorie fast komplett leer zu lassen und eben alles nach dam und reservoir zu sortieren? wie geschrieben, es ist eine Talsperre (!) und kein See und der Damm hat eine eigene Subkategorie. Bei all den auswärtigen und ausländischen Touristen in der Eifel, die tlw. auch ihre Bilder auf commons (massenhaft) hochlanden, wäre das nächste Chaos programmiert und "beide" Cats See und Talsperre würden wieder völlig vermischt werden und alle paar Monate müssten wir wieder aufräumen. So ist es jetzt regelgerecht den örtlichen und technischen Gegebenheiten angepasst. Wikidata lässt sich ebenfalls anpassen, da sehe ich kein Problem. Bei keiner (!) anderen Talsperre wird ja auch nicht zwischen Talspere und See unterschieden (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Reservoirs_in_North_Rhine-Westphalia sieh cat.), höchstens die Dammanlage separiert.
Ebenfalls wie geschrieben, habe ich mich hier mit anderen Usern aus der Region/Eifel abgesprochen und werde dies heute abend auch bei der quartalsmäßigen OSM-Tagung (darunter Delegierte des Katasteramtes Aachen) hier in Aachen ebenfalls ansprechen. Man muss es den Menschen außerhalb unseres Wiki-Horizontes so leicht wie möglich machen, selber Einträge vornehmen zu können oder Bilder anhand von Detailangaben und klar strukturierten und inhaltlich übersichtlichen (!) Cats zu finden.
In diesem Sinne lasse es jetzt gut sein und akzeptiere unsere örtlichene Gegebenheiten. Wie schon mal erwähnt, mische ich mich nicht in den anderen cats außerhalb der Städteregion Aachen/Hohes Venn/Eifel ein, in denen du ggf. ebenfalls für Verwirrtheit gesorgt hast, es gibt auch noch ein Leben außerhalb der Wikipedia, versprochen. Was der Unterschied zwischen reservoir und dam ist, sollte nicht die Schwierigkeit sein, die es Leuten erschwert hier Fotos beizutragen. Die Löschung einer Weiterleitung von einem gebräuchlichen Namen macht es aber durchaus schwieriger. Bei Wikidata gibt es zwar übergeordnete Items für die gesamte Talsperre, es sollte aber immer auch Items für das Gewässer und die Staumauer geben, um nicht alle möglichen Eigenschaften einem der Teile zuordnen zu müssen. noch einmal, das Gewässer (Rurtalsperre) und die Staumauer (Rurtalsperren dam) sind doch getrennt, aber mit dem Begriff "Reservoir" kann keiner etwas mit anfangen. Und ebenfalls noch einmal: keine andere Talsperrencategory (siehe Verlinkung zuvor) trifft (soweit ich dies auf die Schnelle überschaue) eine Unterscheidung zwischen Talsperre selbst und dazugehörendem "Stausee", lediglich die Dämme sind korrekterweise separiert, alles andere wäre für Nichtinsider auch nicht nachzuvollziehbar. Du selbst unterscheidest ja bei den eigenständigen "Anhängseln" der Rurtalsperre, z. B. bei der Urfttalsperre, auch nicht zwischen "Urftsee" und "Urfttalsperre", also lasse doch bitte die Wortklauberei. Außerdem entspricht die commons-cat. eindeutig dem offiziellen Lemma des dt. Wiki-Artikels und damit ist dies auch geklärt. Ferner sprechen alle amtlichen Quellen, nicht nur im Wikiartikel, von "Rurtalsperre" und nicht von "Rurstauseee" oder "Rursee", dass wäre eher umgangssprachlich und kein "gebräuchlicher" Name und ist somit nicht korrekt, obwohl ich natürlich auch weiß, dass der Begriff im "Volk" einfachheitshalber aber fälschlicherweise genutzt wird. Bei der Urfttalsperre gibt es Category:Urfttalsperre dam und Category:Urfttalsperre reservoir. Ich sehe da keine Verwechslungsgefahr oder Unklarheit, erst recht nicht mit den entsprechenden Infoboxen. Beim Namen hast du recht, da habe ich jetzt noch mal in die Topografischer Karte von NRW geguckt, dort heißt der See Rurtalsperre Schwammenaul, den Namen sollten wir dann auch verwenden. Der Obersee wird dort mit dem Hinweis "(Vorbecken der Rurtalsperre)" eindeutig dieser zugeordnet. Der Urftstausee heißt demnach Urfttalsperre, was wir hier korrekt haben, bei Wikipedia allerdings nicht. GPSLeo (talk) 10:30, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
Aber offensichtlich NUR dort (und NUR auf Deine Initiative hin), bei keiner (!) anderen Talsperre - nicht einmal bei den wirklich großen wie z. B. Möhnestalsperre, Biggesee o.ä.!!! Demnach ist auch dies verwirrend/redundant, weil auf der Hauptseite und deiner "reservoir-Seite" inhaltlich relativ gleiche Bilder einsortiert sind und dies muss gemäß den Beispielen anderer Talsperren korrigiert werden. Ich habe dieses System aus Zeitgründen bisher nur dann angewandt, wenn ich Fotos hochgeladen habe, daher ist es nur bei wenigen Talsperre angewandt. Die klare Trennung zwischen Staumauer und Wasserfläche wieder zu Löschen ist ein klarer Informationsverlust und führt, wie schon geschrieben, zu einem Wikidataeintrag ohne Commonsverknüpfung, obwohl diese inhaltlich möglich wäre. Bei der Urfttalsperre bezog ich mich auf den Einleitungstext: "welche die Urft zum 2,16 km² großen Urftstausee (Urftsee) aufstaut". GPSLeo (talk) 13:24, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
Zu guter Letzt noch etwas Begriffsdefinition: unsere englische commonscat: "reservoirs in North Rhine-Westphalis" beinhaltet alle (!) Talsperren/Stauseen in NRW in ihrer jeweiligen Gesamtheit (!) und nicht nur eine vergleichsweise kleine Subcat "Urfttalsperre reservoir". Dieses "Reservoir" hier am Beispiel "Urfttalsperre reservoir" ist technisch gesehen aber nur der Stauraum einer Talsperre, wobei dort dazu geschrieben steht: Im allgemeinen Sprachgebrauch ist auch der Stausee einbezogen. Häufig wird ausschließlich dieser als Talsperre bezeichnet - bzw. Ein Stausee ist Teil einer Stauanlage, wobei es sich hierbei in der Regel um eine Talsperre handelt. Damit ist klar, was ich mit "umgangssprachlich" meinte, z. B. beim Begriff "Rursee/Rurstausee", was aber falsch ist - weil lt. commons-cats. mit "Reservoir..." die Gesamtheit (!) einer Talsperre inklusive Technik und lt. Wikiartikel der "Stauraum" gemeint, also beispielsweise die gesamte Rurtalsperre.
Eigentlich in sich widersprüchlich, aber wie soll man beispielsweise einem niederländischen oder französischen Touristen, der Bilder auf commons hochlädt, so etwas erklären. Wie zuvor geschrieben würde dies dazu führen, dass wir alle paar Monate aufräumen müssen. Deshalb macht die jetzige Aufteilung Sinn und führt zu keinen redundanten Bild-Eintragungen. Und noch einmal: Ich habe KEINE TRENNUNG zwischen Staumauer und Wasserfläche gelöscht, sondern die Subcats "xyz dam" (z. B. Rurtalsperren dam) befinden sich weiterhin im commons-Kategorienbaum (wer suchet der findet)!
Und was die Rurtalsperre anbelangt, sind jetzt alle "Seebilder" mehrheitlich geographisch geordnet und nur dort, wo es von der Masse (197 Bilder), der Qualität und der nicht klar zu benennenden Positionen her keinen Sinn machte, habe ich die "Sammelcat Sept. 2019" gewählt. Ich bin Dir verdammt noch mal sehr weit entgegengekommen und habe jedes Bild dahingehend überprüft, ob ich es besser in eine Subcat einsortieren kann (z. B. alle Bilder mit dem "Strandbad Eschauel", etc...). Dieses sture "Blocken" von Dir meinte ich mit mangelnder Unterstützung bei einer sinnvollen Bildverteilung auf subcats, um die einzelnen cats nicht zu überdimensionieren, wodurch Bilder von anderen Usern (mehrheitlich sogar mit deutlich besserer Qualität) fast komplett untergingen.
Ich habe jetzt wirklich langsam keine Lust mehr auf diese Endlosdiskussion, wenn Dir das nicht passt, dann mache bitte ein Meinungsbild auf und veranlasse, dass in ALLEN bundesweiten Talsperrencats (viel Spaß beim durchstöbern und ggf. catmäßigem nachjustieren) eine Unterteilung in "Reservoir/Stauraum..." für jede (!) Talsperre stattfindet und unterlasse bitte eine eigenmächtige Exempelstatuierung beispielsweise nur beim Rursee. So lange gilt auf commons die cat. "reservoir..." für die gesamte Talsperre und nicht alleine für den Stauraum. So eine hirnrissige Korrektur-Arbeit möchte ich nicht jedes Jahr machen. ArthurMcGill (talk) 14:22, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
Wenn ich das richtig Verstehe, willst du die technischen Anlagen und die Wasserfläche nur deshalb nicht in Unterkategorien einer übergeordneten Kategorie packen, weil die meisten Leute die übergeordnete Kategorie verwenden würden. Für Schutzgebiete haben wir ein deutlich komplexeres System für die Kategorisierung erstellt (Commons:WikiProject protected areas/Germany) und dort lässt sich, anders als hier, ohne Geokoordinaten häufig gar nichts mehr an der Zuordnung korrigieren. Wenn ich die Zeit finde mache ich, wie vorgeschlagen, mal eine Seite für ein Commons:WikiProject geography, wo dann ein klares System diskutiert werden kann. GPSLeo (talk) 14:52, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
teils richtig, nicht nur wegen den hunderten Touristen, die hunderte Fotos unbedarft hochladen, sonder auch weil die commonscat "Reservoir in North Rhine Westfalen" (ebenso in allen anderen Bundesländern und sogar weltweit) nach derzeitigem Stand für die Gesamtheit einer Talsperre steht und nicht ausschließlich für die jeweilige "Staufläche". Demnach kann man diese nicht als "reservoir" bezeichnen. Bei keiner (!) Talsperre (außer bis gestern die Rurtalsperre und bis heute die Urfttalsperre) wird eine Subcat "Wasserfläche" verwendet. PS.: @GPSLeo: ich gebe abschließend (ich mag jetzt nicht mehr und es ist auch alles gesagt) noch zu bedenken, dass bei einer möglichen Änderung der Cats auf commons (so wie Du sie dir vorstellst) mehrere Dutzend Talsperren bundesweit und mehrere hundert Talsperren weltweit davon betroffen sind und die Obercats/subcats entsprechend auch angepasst werden müssten unklusive der mgl. Neuaufteilung der jeweiligen dortigen Bilder - eine Arbeit von mehreren tausend Einzeländerungen, die kein Freiwilliger im Wiki machen kann und wird und nur durch einen BOT erledigt werden könnte, denn wenn, dann muss eine Neuordnung ja für alle weltweiten Talsperren-Commons-Einträge gelten und nicht nur für die Rurtalsperre! PS 2: @GPSLeo: Um das Ganze jetzt noch auf die Spitze zu treiben, müsste gemäß unserer Cat-Benennungen in engl. Sprache die category "Reservoir in..." in "Dam in ..." etc. umbenannt werden, denn lt. Wörterbuch steht das engl. Wort "Dam" für "Talsperre" (also den Gesamtkomplex; im frz. "Barrage"), wogegen die Talsperrenmauer selbst, die bei unseren Talsperren als Subcat mit "Rutalsperren dam" bezeichnet wird, eigentlich in "dam wall" umbenannt werden müsste. "Reservoir" umfasst nämlich lt. Wikiartikel alle (!) "Flüssigkleitsreserven", also z. B. auch Löschwasserteiche, Naturstaubecken, etc... wie z. B. den Casinoweiher in Kelmis, somit ist die cat.: "Reservoir in...." eigentlich eine nicht zutreffende Bezeichnung und würde sich gemäß der gesamten Schlussfolgerung lediglich auf das "Staubecken" selbst beziehen, was inhaltlich in Kubikmeter berechnet werden kann. Hallo ArthurMcGill,
ich habe mal deine Uploads rückwärts bis Anfang 2020 auf mögliche Verletzung von COM:OVERWRITE durchgesehen. Bei den im folgenden aufgelisteten Bildern wurde bei deiner Über/Bearbeitung die o.g. Regel nicht eingehalten und außerdem die Auflösung gegenüber dem Original unnötig reduziert (down-sizing). D.h., hier ist eine Nachbesserung/Korrektur geboten. Um die bearbeitete Fassung zu "retten" lade sie einfach unter einem eigenen, am besten leicht veränderten Dateinamen hoch, mit den Daten der Originalfassung, ergänzt um die Erwähnung deiner Bearbeitung. Danach sollte die Originaldatei auf die Version vor der Bearbeitung zurückgesetzt werden.

Bei den im folgenden aufgelisteten Bildern wurde bei deiner Über/Bearbeitung COM:OVERWRITE nicht eingehalten, aber ohne Reduktion der Auflösung. Hier könnte man m.E. einzeln entscheiden, ob eine Rücksetzung auf das Original sinnvoll ist oder die Bearbeitung so bleiben soll.

Bereits zurückgesetzt (überwiegend von User:Savin) wurden folgende Bilder:

Vielen Dank, ich habe jetzt sicherheitshalber ALLE Bilder wieder auf die Ursprungsversion zurückgesetzt und werde im Einzelfall prüfen, ob ich eine jeweilige neue veränderte Datei mit Hinweis auf die Quelle für bestimmte Zwecke (Listen/osm/etc.) NEU hochladen werde. Bitte Kategorisierungsrichtlinie für Schutzgebiete beachten[edit]

Du hast einige Naturschutzgebiete aus der Landkreiskategorie entfernt und in eine Gemeindekategorie verschoben. Gemäß der Richtlinie für die Kategorisierung von Naturschutzgebieten, sollen diese jedoch aus Gründen der Einheitlichkeit auf Landkreisebene kategorisiert werden. Die einzige Ausnahme wurde bislang im Hochsauerlandkreis gemacht, da es dort über 600 Naturschutzgebiete gibt. Bei den 150 Gebieten in Aachen halte ich das nicht für nötig. Wenn müssten wir den Schwellwert für Gemeindekategorisierung generell auf 100 Gebiete in einem Landkreis absenken. GPSLeo (talk) 18:39, 27 July 2023 (UTC)

Wenn ein Lemma ("Naturschutzgebiet Quellgebiet Broichbach mit Schwalbennistwand östlich Broicher Siedlung, nördlich Broich") irrtümlich "eindeutig" falsch verfasst worden war (in dem Fall von leider Dir), aber alle Belege (die wiki-mediakarte in der Infobox, openstreetmap, der Originalname im ACK025 mit der dortigen Karte, aber auch "meine" eindeutige Ortskenntnis) dafür sprechen, dass dies lediglich ein "Versehen" war, auch wenn im Lemma des Links "estlich" steht (für mich lediglich ein dortiger Tippfehler), so ist dies doch kein Grund, hier ein fehlerhaftes Lemma weiter stehen zu lassen. Kein mitdenkender Mensch wird heute noch östlich und westlich verwechseln. Also ich verstehe nicht, warum nicht, um weitere/spätere "Fehleinträge" zu verhindern, hier dieses eindeutig falsche Lemma nicht gelöscht werden kann und nur noch das "richtige" im Bestand bleibt. Ja, es ist natürlich eine komplette Fehlbenennung, die auf einem Fehler in der offiziellen Datenbank beruht. Da durch den Fehler in der Datenbank immer wieder Menschen nach "Naturschutzgebiet Quellgebiet Broichbach mit Schwalbennistwand östlich Broicher Siedlung, nördlich Broich" suchen werden, ist es besser eine Weiterleitung zu haben. Gibt es keine Weiterleitung, könnten Menschen denken, dass die Kategorie fehlt und sie erstellen, da sie denken, dass es sich bei "Naturschutzgebiet Quellgebiet Broichbach mit Schwalbennistwand östlich Broicher Siedlung, nördlich Broich" und "Naturschutzgebiet Quellgebiet Broichbach mit Schwalbennistwand westlich Broicher Siedlung, nördlich Broich" um zwei verschiedene Gebiete handelt. Der Fehler bei Wikidata bestand immerhin fünf Jahre lang und ist somit wahrscheinlich an vielen anderen Stellen übernommen worden. Schade, also gehst du den Weg des geringsten Widerstands und lässt Fehler - zwar mit Hinweis - lieber stehen, als möglichst alle Fehler für alle Zeit auszuräumen. Ich jedenfalls bin zeitlebens immer für Aufräumen und kenne dies auch nicht anders von meinen früheren Berufsjahren her. Fehler im Bestand zu haben bergen immer die Gefahr, wiederbelebt zu werden oder hier in diesem Fall eher nicht ernst genommen zu werden, weil einige an unserem Orientierungssinn zweifeln könnten und uns für "bescheuert" halten. Wenn die offizielle Datenbank korrigiert ist, können wir die Weiterleitung nach ein paar Jahren auch löschen. Fehlbezeichnungen die nirgendwo als Alias, Weiterleitung oder in sonstiger Weise dokumentiert waren, haben mir schon viel Arbeit bereitet, um herauszufinden das und wovon es eine Fehlbezeichnung ist. Da habe ich lieber das große Schild "Die Bezeichnung ist kompletter Blödsinn, sie wurde aber viele Jahre verwendet", als den Fehler zu verstecken. GPSLeo (talk) 15:04, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
