GlobalRenameRequest[edit]

@Green Giant: removed the link to m:Special:GlobalRenameRequest with this edit.

Why? GlobalRenameRequest may refuse if the user has been banned on all projects, but otherwise it should work I think? - Alexis Jazz ping plz 14:55, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Alexis Jazz: This was definitely a mistake on my part. I think I misread the target. I recall there used to be a form for requesting rename locally and didn't want users going there. Thank you for pointing this out to me. I'll try to be more careful in future. Green Giant (talk) 15:04, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There is Special:GlobalRenameRequest but I think it does the same thing. The translations should also be looked at, Template:Inappropriate username/de is pretty confusing. If there is nobody around to update a particular language it would be better to remove it and just show the blocked user the English template. It may not be in their language, but at least it's accurate.. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 15:28, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Alexis Jazz: Why? Apart from the unnecessary comma, the old text makes as much sense as the new one. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 15:55, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Tacsipacsi: I may not be a native English speaker, but "meeting our policy" just sounds wrong to me. You meet expectations or requirements. You comply with or follow a policy or rules. - Alexis Jazz ping plz 12:17, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexis Jazz: I’m not native, either, but it sounds OK for me. I think we need an opinion from a native English before proceeding. Anyway, edit requests need an explicit reason, just like regular edits (that’s what the edit summary is for), so please tell it initially next time. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 12:26, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the extra comma. This edit doesn’t mean I’m not open to a third opinion, but I don’t want to let this grammar error stay in case there’s no consensus to change the wording. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 18:44, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeff G.: What do you think? - Alexis Jazz ping plz 09:18, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexis Jazz: I support this change, we have been misusing "meet".   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 12:49, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
