Block log being linked twice is ugly, how about hiding the second one when {{{1}}} is not set? --Tgr (talk) 21:14, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This could be done, but then the change should also be translated in all the language versions of the template... -- AlNo (discuter/talk/hablar/falar) 09:09, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{Edit protected}}

This template should include information about how to request unblocking via {{Unblock}}. Guanaco (talk) 09:53, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done This template is an information template for other users not for the blocked user. The blocked user get guaranteed enough information on his or other talk pages. -- User: Perhelion 18:07, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Perhelion: Fair enough, but unfortunately this template has often been used as a message on the blocked user's talk page. When I see that being done, I'll replace the template and suggest an alternative to the blocking admin. Guanaco (talk) 18:14, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Guanaco: Maybe you can put this request again on the more proper {{Blocked}} (and I'll not dispute there). -- User: Perhelion 15:06, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Guanaco and Perhelion: "Blocked user" is currently the default template that gets applied on talk pages from the "Notify this user" toolbox when you choose "Blocked - your account has been blocked". Note how the menu text reads "your account" instead of "this account" as would be appropriate for a template that is intended to notify uninvolved editors only. So we should either include information on unblocking here, too, or the template at "Notify this user" needs to get exchanged. De728631 (talk) 00:01, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@De728631 But then, there are 234 usages on User: pages, compare with {{Indefblockeduser}} (only 11 User: usages but 27 User_talk: usages?), aren't there anything cross-fired? Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 08:29, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the usage might have changed within the last 5 years. Apart from that it does now include an instruction how to request undeletion. 16:46, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
But then, blocked users are generally not allowed to edit their userpages, so why a userpage tag can have "you may add {{Unblock}} below this message..."? And still, {{Indefblockeduser}} still has same problem. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 04:42, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
