For the sake of accuracy all of the "banana tree" photos should be named "banana plant" or something similar because bananas are not actually trees, they are just very large herbs.— Preceding unsigned comment added by ‎ 216.58.96.134 (talk • contribs) 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Worthy but no, trees are not necessarily woody or secondarily thickened. Several other herbs have the size and form of a tree and can be so called: it isn't a botanically-defined term. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:40, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
