Typo[edit]

{{Edit protected}} It looks like in this edit two and a half years ago, User:Lokal Profil accidentally copied over the Swedish name for the CC0 license. Could someone please revert that? Thanks. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 15:00, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@PinkAmpersand: ✓ Done. Thank you. – Kwj2772 (talk) 05:30, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for spotting and fixing and sorry for that happening in the first place. /Lokal_Profil 11:11, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Update licenses[edit]

As far as I know we prefer Cc-zero over PD-self. So why not remove PD-self as an option?

I also noticed that it is possible to add Cc-by-sa-4.0 alone but not Cc-by-4.0 alone. It can only be added together with GFDL.

Personally I think that we should reduce the number of licenses where GFDL is included. GFDL is a bad license so why keep using it? If someone want a multi-license then I think one is enough.

When we use a self-template then "migration=redundant" is not needed. The template will fix it.

So I suggest:

* Your own work (best practices):
** Self|Cc-by-sa-4.0|Own work, copyleft, attribution required (CC BY-SA 4.0)
** Self|Cc-by-4.0|Own work, copyleft, attribution required (CC BY 4.0)
** Self|Cc-by-sa-all|Own work, copyleft, attribution required (CC BY-SA all versions)
** Self|Cc-zero|CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication, all rights waived (Public domain)
** Self|GFDL|Cc-by-sa-all|Own work, copyleft, attribution required (Multi-license GFDL, CC BY-SA all versions)

I also changed first letter to capital letter. I think our templates are named that way. But if we have a reason to use small letters its cool with me. --MGA73 (talk) 13:55, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There may be other relevant changes like under "Public domain" where 1923 is mentioned many times but I think the current year is 1925. --MGA73 (talk) 13:59, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

1923[edit]

I believe that various references to "1923" should by now read "1925" (and from next January 1st, "1926", and so on). Can we make this change? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:06, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think yes (see my post above) :-) --MGA73 (talk) 19:33, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

{{Edit request}} Could someone change {{PD-old-70-1923}} and {{PD-old-100-1923}} to {{PD-old-70-expired}} and {{PD-old-100-expired}} respectively? Thanks! Kaldari (talk) 00:57, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done, though the year 1925 still appears in several of the texts, so this will still need to be updated next year. --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 19:21, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Missing CC-0 license[edit]

{{Edit request}} A large number of the translations for this page are missing the {{Cc-zero}} license (although many have {{self|Cc-zero}}). This is causing problems with imports from iNaturalist. Finnish, for example, has no CC-0 license at all. Could someone go through and add {{Cc-zero}} to more of the translations? Kaldari (talk) 00:54, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done – I agree with the sentiment here, but I don’t think this is an actionable edit request :/ the list needs to contain not just the template name (Cc-zero), but also a label that should be shown, and that needs to be provided by someone who speaks those languages, I believe – ideally in individual edit requests on each translation’s talk page, I’d say. (I could update MediaWiki:Licenses/de myself, but that one already has the license.) If somebody wants to check various translations of this message, -intitle:/ownwork/ -intitle:/from/ -intitle:/wiki/ prefix:MediaWiki:Licenses/ seems to work reasonably well to list them. --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 19:26, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request for 2021[edit]

{{Edit request}} — Preceding unsigned comment added by ネイ (talk • contribs) 13:58, 8 January 2021 (UTC) As per #1923, we should update all "1925" to "1926". ネイ (talk) 13:57, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done --Lucas Werkmeister (talk) 21:32, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Years[edit]

{{Edit request}} The most recent edit broke the structure: now {{Not-PD-US-expired-min-year}} shows up instead of the year. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 17:40, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
