Русский: Редкое издание писателя и историка 2-й половины XVIII века генерал-майора, флигель-адъютанта и советника канцелярии П.А. Левашова, представляет собой довольно интересный очерк многовековой борьбы России на южных рубежах с половецкой, татарской и турецкой военной угрозой. Автор, проведя около 30 лет на дипломатической службе, являлся инициатором основания Одессы как форпоста России на Черном море. Значительную часть книги составляют выписки из исторических трудов и летописей о столкновениях русских с половцами и татарами, а также послание (1736 г.) графа Остермана верховному визирю Османской Порты, содержащее перечень обид, нанесенных турками России. Автор детально обосновывает исторические права России на Крымский полуостров.
