Description
Nederlands: Verluchte titelpagina "Mr. Hugo de Groot van 't Recht des Oorloghs en des Vredes vertaelt door B. D. de laeste ediecij. Tot Amsterdam bij Janhendriesen, en Willem van beaumont." Een geblinddoekte Vrouwe Justitia zit met weegschaal en zwaard boven de title. Rechts en links van haar staan een soldaat in wapenrusting, met pluimhelm, Medusaschild, een brandende toorts en een kwaadaardige hond, en een dame met olijftak en lans met een schaap aan haar voeten. Soldaat heeft gezichten in de omslag van zijn laarzen. Putti.
English: Illustrated title page "Mr. Hugo de Groot van 't Techt des Oorloghs en des Vredes vertaelt door B. D. de laetste ediecij. Tot Amsterdam bij Janhendriesen, en Willem van beaumont." A blindfolded Lady Justice with balance and sword is seated above a title shield. On her right and left stand a warrior wearing a plumed helmet and holding a Gorgon shield, a menacing dog and a burning stick (torch) at his feet, and a lady holding an olive branch and a lance with a sheep at her feet, respectively. Putti. The warrior has faces on his boots.
