wiki loves earth coordination[edit]

Dear Wikimedia Chapter,


First of all I would like to say thank you for your willingness to run Wiki Loves Earth in your countries. Together we will do our best to highlight most interesting and memorable places in different parts of the world.

I am writing to find out if you need any assistance in participating in Wiki Loves Earth (WLE) 2015. For the past two years many countries joined WLE and the whole world saw the photos of wonderful nature of their countries!

The international team (CCed) will gladly help you with the following:


1) technical coordination - we have some tools that were used for Wiki Loves Earth last year. Wiki Loves Monuments tools are to be adapted as well

2) support with list conversion. If you have lists of natural monuments in any machine-readable format, we should be able to help you converting them into a wiki format. If you have no idea where to find lists of natural monuments, we may try to help as well, but we do not guarantee that we will be able to do it.

3) supporting your grant requests - it's up to you to write them, but we can provide help with them.

4) providing souvenirs - e.g. calendars, postcards with best photos after the contest or before/during it in order to use them in promotion


If you have doubts or you are in need of anything else, please do not hesitate to write me or the Project Team at team at wikilovesearth.org, and we will see how we can help you.

I am deeply convinced that together we will manage to show every significant natural monument of our countries to the rest of the word.

Category:Obviously ineligible submissions for WLE 2015 in Brazil[edit]

I have created a category for maintenance. you are to move the pictures that are ineligible submissions for WLE 2015 in Brazil (=out of scope) there. for example, if there are no natural sites pictured there. it seems to me that this one File:La belle de jour.jpg is not eligible --アンタナナ 10:05, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dúvida[edit]

As contribuições do GustavoMaruyama aparentemente não são do escopo do concurso, alguém poderia confirmar isso? Acho que deveria ser desenvolvida uma mensagem padrão para avisarmos que a imagem não se enquadra no concurso, agradecendo a participação e encorajando a continuidade no projeto.Rodrigolopes (talk) 14:46, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Olá Rodrigolopes, as fotos dele se enquadram no concurso pois retraram paisagens e monumentos naturais, as falesias de Beberibe são parte do patrimonio natural do Ceará. Mas de qualquer forma, o contato direto com participantes é recomendável e necessária para orientar submissão de fotos, melhorar categorizações e etc. Aqui nós temos algumas orientações gerais sobre o concurso, qualquer dúvida ou sugestão podemos melhorar nas orientações e também nás páginas com a lista dos patrimonios por estado brasileiro. Please help out at Commons:Upload help[edit]

There has been an influx of questions regarding this campaign at our upload help desk, but nobody who speaks Portuguese seems to be helping out there. For example:

As you can see, currently, more than 20% of the questions at the upload help desk originate from this campaign. Most of the questions seem to be about geographical coordinates.

  1. I see nothing in the configuration of the campaign that suggests you've made geographical coordinates mandatory, but if you have, could you undo that, as it seems to cause more trouble than it's worth?
  2. Could you please improve the campaign's information about how to find geographical coordinates and the format in which it needs to be provided?
  3. Could you please help out at Commons:Upload help at least for the duration of the campaign, but preferably after that was well? Questions in Portuguese usually go unanswered.
