Yes, and I suggest the further change of making "graphic" plural; "graphic village pump" would indicate a village pump that is graphic (*ahem*) while "Graphics village pump" indicates a village pump that is about graphics. I tried. It didn't work correctly because new sections would be added to Commons:Graphics village pump rather than the correct page, currently Commons:Graphics village pump/October 2007. Auto-Conversion to bitmap formats on-request

I was looking for an image that I could use as a Windows Shortcut Icon. Windows only accepts ICO files. PNG and SVG might be great on the web, but Windows (at least XP) can't handle them. Could code be added to such that all image pages get a series of conversion links? The list below shows the conversions that I see as possible. This does not take into account whether image formats are free or not. I am not listing icon or cursor formats not used by Windows. Feel free to add them for me.

Page Admin

This page seems to need ever more monthly admin to keep it tidy - see the recent history. I don't really understand what is going on - some month end stuff seems to be done by some bot or other, but if so, it does not seem to me to be doing its job very well. Perhaps the page has been unwittingly restructured since originally conceived. It is also possible to add discussion topics and queries either to the main page or to the monthly sub page, which results in further muddle, especially when it is tidied up, but leaves a trail of wreckage in the history. I wanted to know if Common Users have developed or can recommend some instructional materials for adopting/training new users to contribute at the Graphics labs? How to get a list of all .svg files on Wikipedia.org and commons.wikimedia.org?

Hi!

I do have a very slow internet connection. Nonetheless it would be fast enough to download a list of the files I'm looking for: I want a list of all .svg files on Wikipedia.org and commons.wikimedia.org. (And later on after that of all svg-files on the other wikipedia and wikimedia pages.)

But my internet connection is not fast enough to find the right search-words by trial and error: It's absolutly tedious to do trial-and-error with 64kbit/sec.

Could anyone point me to the right page on wikipedia or commons.wikimedia where I could start such a search and which keywords and settings to use?

Well, it's not a list, but you could start in category:SVG and browse the subcategories that you find interesting. Richard 08:17, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

There are around 100k SVG files used in en.Wikipedia. This will likley result in >1 GB :). --Menner (talk)

I think you should post the request on your talk page to an Admin. They should be able to get it to you - as it will be about 1-4 MB only (file names only). I posted a request for all "India" related article names on Wikipedia English - and since the size was more than 1 MB an Admin asked me for my email ID. Once I sent him my email coordinates, I got the full list of about 140,000 article names. Hence, I think same process can be followed to get list of SVG file names only. Google search suggests it is in the range of 1M so it might be beyond your bandwidth. Shyamal (talk) 08:09, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Monthly archives for 2020

Monthly archives were way behind. Need standard archives

I added 2022 and 2023 links. See diff.

Why aren't better automatic archiving tools being used? Monthly is too often.

I believe non-dated archives should be used. After filling up to a certain number of kilobytes. a new archive is started automatically. This is standard archiving. And no one has to supervise it.
