Insults must be deleted[edit]

Hi. I will make a request for you. Revision texts of publicly insulted changes to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk are hidden in the Dutch Wikipedia. I would like to delete them and put "Ataturk1930s.jpg" in the portrait section of the information box. I can not make any changes in the Dutch Wikipedia. I connect to the Wikis via VPN because Wikipedia is banned in my country.

The changes that need to be deleted from the revision text record are: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10] (The second of the same change, must be deleted), [11], [12], [13], [14], [15], [16], [17], [18], [19], [20], [21], [22], [23]. Hello Ullierlich. I have looked at each and every revision you listed, but although some (most?) are good examples of bad taste, none of them meet the criteria for hiding them in the page history. In the Dutch Wikipedia, revisions are only applicable for hiding in case of cyberbullying, privacy issues and copyright infringement. As for the suggested image swap: I see no good reason to do so. Category[edit]

Hej FogueraC! I do not understand why file:Afrikaans-Dutch language world.svg should be removed from the category:Linguistic maps of the Afrikaans language but kept in the category:Linguistic maps of the Dutch language. The same map gives info on both languages, so it would seem logical to include it in both categories. Can you enlighten me? Richard 10:32, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's a terminological conflict. "Dutch" may refer to the (let's say) "proper Dutch" or to the "bigger Dutch" that is the union of proper Dutch and Afrikaans. As the map gives info on both proper Dutch and Afrikaans, it should be in the bigger Dutch category. In Commons, the Afrikaans category is in the Dutch category. So this means that the Dutch category is the bigger Dutch category.
I don't know if there is any criteria for the categorization of languages in Commons. As I have seen, it seems to agree with the family language section in the infotable of the English Wikipedia. At least, it is the criteria that I use. You can see that in the Afrikaans infotable it is categorized as Dutch. If you want to change it, I imagine that it should be changed there first. --Foguera (talk) 20:04, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Usually, one would categorize items in the deepest branch of the category tree that fits. For instance, 'Eiffeltower' would be in 'Paris' which in turn would be in 'France'. Putting 'Eiffeltower' in 'France' as well would be superfluous. In this case, it becomes a bit harder since 'Afrikaans' would be a deeper branch than 'Dutch'. However, the map deals with both 'Afrikaans' and 'Dutch' so putting it only in the category 'Afrikaans' would make it incomplete. Still, not putting it in the category 'Afrikaans' does not feel right, either. As you said: 'Dutch' is an ambiguous term. On the map, it is used for what you call 'proper Dutch'. It does not include 'Afrikaans'. Since the map makes a distinction between Dutch and Afrikaans, in my opinion, it would be better to keep the map in both categories. Update request[edit]

Hello.

Can you update File:SchengenAgreement map.svg and File:SchengenAgreement map.png, by coloring Croatia in dark blue, as it joined Schengen on 1 January 2023? In File:SchengenAgreement map.svg, can you also color the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom in gray, because after Brexit, the UK ceased to be a member of the EU and is also not a party of the Schengen Agreement, and because Ireland is not a party of the Schengen Agreement as it opted-out.
