@Bablu.mehra.official: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload smaller (<50,000 bytes or <2,000,000 pixels) jpg images as a new user while leaving the summary intact. Each jpg image you tried to upload is smaller, and you indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads smaller images, they are copyright violations taken from the web. If you made the images yourself, please upload the full-size originals of them per COM:HR, including EXIF metadata. If you did not make the images, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept them as-is, and have the copyright holder(s) license them on their official websites or social media or send the images and permissions via VRT with carbon copies to you. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter. You also triggered Special:AbuseFilter/245 by trying to create someone else's userpage.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 00:17, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

Edit kind: Was adding a speedy deletion tag, and using (in capital letters) com:omgapenis as explanation. The filter is giving capitalization as a reason to block the edit.
Comments: Obviously the specific string (in capital letters) com:omgapenis should be exempt from your capitalization abuse detection. BirdValiant (talk) 16:48, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
@BirdValiant: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/56 by trying to refer to COM:OMGAPENIS without having made 50 edits yet. The best way to defeat that filter is to use new redirect com:omgapenis instead.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 22:57, 24 September 2021 (UTC)
@Jeff G.: So you're going to make redirects for all these shortcut links instead of adding exceptions to the filter itself? Fair enough, I guess. BirdValiant (talk) 00:13, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
@BirdValiant: Yes, until I have the power to add such exceptions.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 10:28, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
@BirdValiant: Exception was added. Please try again and let me know if it doesn't work. Thanks 4nn1l2 (talk) 14:00, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
@4nn1l2 and Jeff G.: Just tested, the exception to the filter worked for me.
If you haven't already, is there any way you could add exceptions for all the Wikicommons policy shortcuts? Some are found at Commons:Shortcuts, but it doesn't seem exhaustive, because for example there are many more on COM:PS. Then this problem could be fixed more or less forever, or at least until more policy creates more shortcut links. Also thanks you two for being responsive about this, I didn't expect this tbh. BirdValiant (talk) 16:26, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
@4nn1l2: Thanks for the exception. Adding two more seems reasonable for COM:PENIS and COM:VAGINA.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 11:31, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Checking to see if com:nopenis (which is a link to Commons:Nudity has an exception. Edit: No, it triggers the filter for me.
@4nn1l2 and Jeff G.: Could you additionally add (in all caps) com:nopenis as an exception? BirdValiant (talk) 17:26, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
@BirdValiant: ✓ Done 4nn1l2 (talk) 18:29, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
@4nn1l2: Testing: COM:NOPENIS It worked! In the unlikely event that I find some other Commons policy shortcut which triggers the filter, I'll send another message, but at this point I doubt there are more out there. Comments: No comments. Khaoula bkr (talk) 11:42, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
@Khaoula bkr: Hi, the filter blocked your upload because it thinks the dimensions you used for taking the photo is too small (1080x1080, or 1.17 MP). Usually if a photo uploaded here is below 2 megapixels, it's a copyright violation; and there are so many copyright violations coming from the cross-wiki upload tool you used, which is why we had to create this filter.

I suggest retaking that scene with a higher resolution set on your phone's camera app. If that's not possible, you can bypass the filter using our Upload Wizard, or any other upload tool.

One last thing: please use a more descriptive filename when you upload. "Beauty proof.jpg" or "Proof of beauty.jpg" is not useful; you should identify clearly and concisely in the filename what you are uploading (like "Apple tree in Canadian autumn 2021.jpg"). pandakekok9 11:52, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

@AIAFVG1961: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload png and smaller (<50,000 bytes or <2,000,000 pixels) jpg logos as a new user while leaving the summary intact, Special:AbuseFilter/156 by trying to upload smaller (<50,000 bytes) jpg logos as a new user, and Special:AbuseFilter/158 by trying to cross-wiki upload logos with self-cc-by-sa licenses as a new user. Such uploads of png logos are not allowed at all. You indicated each is your own work. Usually when someone uploads a logo, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it per COM:HR, including any metadata, but it may be judged too complex to be under TOO in the country of origin, so you may need to publish the logo and your permission for it on your official website or social media or send them via VRT. Also, any png image will look fuzzy when scaled down (due to design decisions discussed in phab:T192744) or jaggy when scaled up, so you may want to upload an svg or jpg version, too. If you can't get a compliant license, the logos may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 14:01, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

@Jeff G.: I thought it was a screenprint but I was actually using Windows 10 Snipping Tool. The file sizes are only 86kb and 117kb. I wish now that I had taken a screenprint to see the file name as I now can't find the spreadsheet in question. I don't really understand all of what you're telling me but I'll have a read of the links you've posted. I do understand that it was rejected because of the small file size but that's the original file size and I suppose there's nothing much I can do to change that, unless I took a photo with a camera of the screenprint image from my screen but then I get all the screen image banding distortion in the photo. Thanks for your message and help.

Edit kind: Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to you because I would like to delete the page https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Jean-Marie_d%27Eysmond_de_Saint_Ange.jpg concerning my client Jean-Marie De Saint-Ange.

Indeed, this page is not sourced and is no longer relevant. In addition, the photo of Mr. De Saint Ange, which is not very flattering, is more than 15 years old.

In this context, this page has no informative purpose.

However, when I try to delete the page, Wikipedia refuses because a deletion is a suspicious modification.

Could you tell me how to contact an administrator so that I can discuss this with him/her?

Thank you in advance for your attention,

Thank you very much,

Étienne Bucher

@ErisAvocat: Hi, and welcome. That file is kept here on Commons as File:Jean-Marie d'Eysmond de Saint Ange.jpg. It was freely donated to the public domain by photographer Fabrice Lamoine, who holds the copyright, in 2009. Removal of sole license templates and sole categories is considered vandalism here. You may discuss the relevance of the description on File talk:Jean-Marie d'Eysmond de Saint Ange.jpg. @Joannetsai: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a smaller (<50,000 bytes or <2,000,000 pixels) jpg photo as a new user while leaving the summary intact. The photo you tried to upload is smaller, and you indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a smaller photo, it is a copyright violation taken from the web. If you took the photo yourself, please upload the full-size original of it per COM:HR, including EXIF metadata. If you did not take the photo, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept it as-is, and have the photographer post Commons:Licensing compliant permission for such work on their website or social media presence or send the photo and permission via VRT with a carbon copy to you. If you can't get a compliant license, the photo may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 16:45, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

@Ashsdmdjsjsnudnsis: You may not publish that image here on Wikimedia Commons without permission from an authorized representative of the Commonwealth of Australia. This is not Wikipedia. Our policy is that we follow copyright law as it stands, both in source countries and the US, and we do not accept fair use media. Most countries in the world (179 at last count) have ratified the Berne Convention; Australia did that on 14 April 1928. Under that convention, an image attracts copyright as soon as it is fixed in a tangible medium of expression, whether or not it is stamped as such. @JohnnyLuxemburg (talkcontribsblock logfilter log): Hi, and welcome. I guess this is you, but please login. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload png and smaller (<50,000 bytes or <2,000,000 pixels) jpg photos as a new user while leaving the summary intact. Such uploads of png photos are not allowed at all. Each jpg photo you tried to upload is smaller, and you indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads smaller photos, they are copyright violations taken from the web. If you took the photos yourself, please upload the full-size originals of them per COM:HR, including EXIF metadata. If you did not take the photos, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept them as-is, and have the photographer(s) license them on their official websites or social media or send the photos and permissions via VRT with carbon copies to you. Also, the png version will look fuzzy when scaled down (due to design decisions discussed in phab:T192744), so you may want to upload a jpg version, too. If you can't get a compliant license, a photo may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 06:33, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Also, it will look fuzzy when scaled down (due to design decisions discussed in phab:T192744), so you may want to upload a jpg version which will look sharper, too. If you can't get a compliant license, the photo may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 03:54, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Comments: Diagram was a black and white chemcial structure produced by me using standard chemical drawing software, unsure what could have triggered the filter. Xiii tm (talk) 07:07, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
@Xiii tm: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a png image as a new user while leaving the summary intact. Such uploads of png images are not allowed at all. You indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a png image, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it per COM:HR, including any metadata, but it may be judged too complex to be under TOO in the country of origin as-is, so you may need to license it on your official website or social media or send permission via VRT. Also, any png image will look fuzzy when scaled down (due to design decisions discussed in phab:T192744) or jaggy when scaled up, so you may want to upload an svg or jpg version, too. If you can't get a compliant license, the image may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here.
