- @Kk474240: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a smaller (<50,000 bytes or <2,000,000 pixels) jpg image as a new user while leaving the summary intact. The image you tried to upload is smaller, and you indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a smaller image, it is a copyright violation taken from the web. If you made the image yourself, please upload the full-size original of it per COM:HR, including EXIF metadata. If you did not make the image, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept it as-is, and have the image photographer / designer license it on their official website or social media, or send the image and permission via VRT with a carbon copy to you. If you can't get a compliant license, the image may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter. In addition, Special:AbuseFilter/122 worked as intended, as we do not host encyclopedia articles, CVs, current ads, random advice, tests, etc. here on Wikimedia Commons per COM:NOT. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 23:32, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

- @Bernard Okema: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload png and smaller (<50,000 bytes or <2,000,000 pixels) jpg photos as a new user while leaving the summary intact. Such uploads of png photos are not allowed at all. Each jpg photo you tried to upload is smaller, and you indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads smaller photos, they are copyright violations taken from the web. If you took the photos yourself, please upload the full-size originals of them per COM:HR, including EXIF metadata. If you did not take the photos, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept them as-is, and have the photographer(s) license them on their official websites or social media or send the photos and permissions via VRT with carbon copies to you. Also, the png version will look fuzzy when scaled down (due to design decisions discussed in phab:T192744), so you may want to upload a jpg version, too. If you can't get a compliant license, a photo may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter. You also triggered Special:AbuseFilter/245 by trying to create a page in userspace without being logged in. Logging in is required before uploading or creating user pages here. There are also many other reasons to create an account and log in. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 14:10, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

Each photo you tried to upload is smaller, and you indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a smaller photo, it is a copyright violation taken from the web. If you took the photo yourself, please upload the full-size original of it per COM:HR, including EXIF metadata. If you did not take the photo, please see Commons:Licensing for why we can't accept it as-is, and have the photographer post Commons:Licensing compliant permission for such work on their website or social media presence or send the photo and permission via VRT with a carbon copy to you. If you can't get a compliant license, the photo may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here. If you change the summary or use our Upload Wizard instead, you should be able to avoid that filter. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 13:49, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

- @Jasonbrovich1: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a png logo as a new user while leaving the summary intact. Such uploads of png logos are not allowed at all. You indicated it's your own work. Usually when someone uploads a png logo, it's a copyright violation taken from the web. Please upload the full-size original of it per COM:HR, including any metadata, but it may be judged too complex to be under TOO in the country of origin, so you may need to license it on your official website or social media or send permission via VRT. filter 69 false positives
I noticed that filter 69 (ticket permission added by non-VRT member) produces a false positive in the following scenarios:
- Putting {{PermissionOTRS}} inside an HTML comment (example)
- Moving an existing {{PermissionOTRS}} tag to the "Permission" field of {{Information}} (only happens sometimes)
Could someone please check into this? Ixfd64 (talk) 19:54, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Ixfd64: 1 is how the filter works; plaintext can be used instead. {{PermissionOTRS}} and license templates are generally considered to be too wide for the "Permission" field of {{Information}}. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 12:24, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I guess just putting the ticket ID in the HTML comment is fine. Ixfd64 (talk) 20:27, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

- @LeeAnn Roberts: Hi, and welcome. I am sorry to inform you that you have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/153 by trying to cross-wiki upload a smaller (<50,000 bytes or <2,000,000 pixels) jpg photo as a new user while leaving the summary intact. The photo you tried to upload is smaller, and you indicated it's your own work. Also, how do you know Stacy Donalds? — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 15:37, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
new filter for incorrectly closed deletion requests?
I noticed that a lot of people are omitting {{Delf}} when closing DRs. Here is the most recent example. This messes up the formatting on the daily listings. Is it possible to add a filter to detect if someone tries to close a DR without both the {{Delh}} and {{Delf}} tags? Ixfd64 (talk) 20:25, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
