@Sreejithk2000: This seems to be an uncompressed RGB JPEG with no colour profile. I assume good faith so I would say that the file is somehow screwed up. It was rejected because its size is much bigger than its resolution would justify. This is protection against abusing JPEG format – it is possible to embed any data of any size inside a JPEG file. Anyway, in the evening I will modify the rule to allow trusted users to upload such files. --jdx ^Re: 01:33, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

Comments: My work has been deleted due to a "copyright" violation when I took the picture of Oliver C Beats in a photoshoot. Now if I understand the rules of a copyright violation, it clearly says that your own pictures that you took with your own hardware, is not against it.

In addition, the violation stated that I've got the picture from SoundCloud, and that is not the case since I gave permission to Oliver C Beats to use it, and also since the profile picture is compressed on there (SoundCloud), anyone could have make out the difference between the high-resolution picture I've uploaded and the highly dumbed down version on the music sharing platform, if looking into the matter with care. Comments: The page (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/TimedText:Wolf_howls.ogg.nl.srt) provides Dutch subtitles for a soundbite of howling wolves. This is entirely unnecessary, given that the file contains no speech and that the title (and caption when used in articles) perfectly describes its content.

The subtitle page was created as a joke, essentially translating to "Oooh! Eeeh! I am a wolf.". I edited it to accurately describe the sounds as wolf howls (in Dutch). Nevertheless, as it is the only subtitles page for this file, it is displayed by default to any and all listeners - who now unexpectedly have to decipher a Dutch text that contains no new information for them, when all they wanted was to hear wolf howls. @Jeff G.: I've now uploaded all twelve graphics that I'm considering may be of value to publish on a Wikipedia article. I had to revise my spreadsheet to make sure they were all the same size and I have now used the recommended jpg file format as you kindly suggested. It seems though that I cannot replace the Alabama png graphic with the revised jpg image. I guess I need to request an Admin to delete the png version? Also, on these uploads I listed the data source in the description - is this also acceptable? The upload wizard didn't offer an option to insert the source, so I suppose I may have to go and edit each new image to change it to the source url. I see that you have contributed a massive amount of work to this amazing endeavor. @Jeff G.: I'm so new here that I'm not sure where to apply the request for deletion tag. I tested applying it to the file summary section at the beginning of the section and that looks like it might be the correct place to put the tag - have I got that right?

The charts were made using LibreOffice Calc with data from the source url. The chart style is by category on the x axis and the categories are shown by the legend on the right. The y axis is the product of the number of owners and the category they fall in. So for example the first category is the number of census respondents that reported owning one slave and the y axis is 1 times the number of respondents in this category. The report lists the number of slave owners in individual groups for those who owned less than 10, but starting at those who owned more than ten, the report begins to list a range of the number of slaves owned: 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-69, 70-99, 100-199, 200-299, 300-499, 500-999, and finally, those owning >=1000. The results illustrated by these charts seem to indicate that as of 1860 there were two broadly separate categories of slaves' lifestyles. Those that lived in groups of less than 10 versus a fairly consistent change of modes beginning with those living in groups greater than 10. Also, any png image will look fuzzy when scaled down (due to design decisions discussed in phab:T192744) or jaggy when scaled up, so you may want to upload an svg or jpg version, too. If you can't get a compliant license, the image may still be uploaded to English Wikipedia in compliance with en:WP:F because we don't allow Fair Use here.
