The interface of Wikimedia Commons (and all other MediaWiki-installations) gets customized via single pages in the MediaWiki-namespace. So this page sums up all pages in the MediaWiki namespace that need constantly maintenance. Although pages in the MediaWiki-namespace can be edited only by Administrators you are more than welcome to write your suggestions on the talk pages of these pages or here.

Tasks

Keep the syntax and in any case the spirit of the english text string. Use only the $1 variable for the GFDL nothing else. This is utterly important.

Tasks

English pages has been removed redundant information which no is in MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning. Fixed several wiki code problems. So all translations should remove the redundant copyright warning info as well after translation of MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning.

The page has been completely replaced by a new drop down menu selection for different language charsets with MediaWiki:Edittools.js.

Do not translate MediaWiki:Edittools. It will render support of the special character menu for your language very likely unmaintainable.

Investigate how to translate the label names for each language and the tooltip without the need to have a lot of copies of MediaWiki:Edittools.

Content has been merged from Commons:Searching directly into the search mask that is displayed at Special:Search. So all content from translated Commons:Searching pages need to be adapted and merged there in sub pages of MediaWiki:Searchresulttext.
