- Oppose - I know there's an aesthetic disagreement at issue, and I don't expect my viewpoint to carry the day, but I'll express my opinion, anyway. The bird and the branch are very clear, but the deliberately blurred background in this case is unpleasant for me to look at and tends to make me dizzy. I understand that this blurring is intentional, but I feel impelled to criticize it, anyway. A bit of blurring is understandable, but blurring the background beyond recognition does not reflect how a viewer would actually see that scene, and I find it a bad effect. Oppose Per Ikan. Moreover, it is not the original photo: [1]--Medium69 You wanted talk to me? 22:53, 13 December 2015 (UTC)- Support I have no problems with this bokeh; the point is to isolate the intended subject. But if it makes Ikan uncomfortable to look at, I understand his objection although I do not share it. To address Medium's point, the picture should have a {{Retouched image}} template on it ... I leave it to Charles. Daniel Case (talk) 05:10, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
- Done Retouched template added. I made it perfectly clear on the image page that I had cloned out the branch and you can also clearly see the extent to which noise has been reduced in the background. Nothing is hidden. @Ikan Kekek: There has been no other 'blurring' of the background. Charles (talk) 10:14, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. I saw that you had indicated in the image upload history that the branch was removed, but adding the template not only makes that information more obvious but has the (ahem) added benefit of putting the image in the corresponding category for retouched images. - I don't understand that remark. The entire background is completely blurred. I understand that's intentional, but that doesn't change the fact. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:38, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
I added a reference to the editing that you have indicated. I maintain my oppostion for cloning the branch is hurt; there are four times the same portion of the branch. The branch "broken" does not appear natural.--Medium69 You wanted talk to me? 12:06, 14 December 2015 (UTC)- Done New version uploaded with improved cloning. - Support fine, crystal clear sharpness on the right point. --Hubertl 12:59, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
- Support Actually, it is much better with such a bokeh, than a busy background. Yann (talk) 14:04, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
