- Question Are we sure that this image can be free? To me it qualifies as a three-dimensional public artwork—and thus does not come under the FoP provisions of US law. Daniel Case (talk) 15:59, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- I will contact the Phipps Conservatory to make sure we have permission. Thanks for bringing this up. dllu (t,c) 01:59, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
- Actually, US copyright law expressly allow interior photos of publicly accessible buildings, which is defined to also specifically include "garden pavillions". As for the Christmas decorations, I think they are arguably part of the building and de minimis anyway, but I will have to check to make sure. It's not like the photo is zoomed in on a single star or anything like that. dllu (t,c) 02:23, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
- The interior wasn't the problem. The Christmas display, which cannot be considered de minimis in this image, is. It is artwork; it does not matter what the medium is. And per COM:FOP United States: "For artworks, even if permanently installed in public places, the U.S. copyright law has no similar exception, and any publication of an image of a copyrighted artwork thus is subject to the approval of the copyright holder of the artwork." To be fair, the problem isn't just this image—it's every image of Christmas lights we have in the US save those on federal government buildings. Daniel Case (talk) 06:34, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

- Weak Support Good, but the partially visible star at the top is a little bit disturbing. The star should be complete. --XRay talk 20:09, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
