Rename proposal[edit]

Against the proposal. The dissambiguation is obviously necessary. Václavka is a generic female name derrived from the given name Václav (Wenceslaus). Many places and subjects have this name:

  • a locality in the Brdy mountains
  • a spring in Kunratice forest
  • a pond in Káraný

Beside it, Václavka is a Czech female given name and a Czech name of the mushroom genus Armillaria. And a genitive of the surname Václavek. --ŠJů (talk) 22:52, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with proposal. We have no files for other subjects, so disambiguation is not necessary. Even if we have some files for other subjects, it makes sense having by far the most used meaning at name without disambiguation. If one meaning prevails, having redirect or disambiguation at "main" name is confusing for users.--Jklamo (talk) 08:46, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's simply untruth that we have no files of other subjects of that name. E.g. a photo of the Václavka spring in Kunratice Forest was uploaded in 2007. Maybe, we have no files of the two other places named "Václavka" yet, but all three mentioned synonymous places prospectively should be photographed for Commons. Anyway, category name should be as fitting and unambiguous as possible. To rename the category from a better name to a worse and ammbiguous name is obviously counter-productive and unwanted. The meaning of the villa at Smíchov can be felt as prevailing by somebody who is from Smíchov or interested in architecture. In other contexts, this meaning need not to prevail. E.g. in the mapy.cz search, none of meanings strongly prevails. --ŠJů (talk) 21:45, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Move request declined. Disambiguation needed. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 02:47, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
