Category name[edit]

How about using a category name like

"Maps using ISO 3166 standard"

or something similar. "ISO 3166" by itself is not enough in my opinion. --Timeshifter (talk) 10:44, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why not, also fits with this discussion: Category:ISO 3166! Do you know how to do a mass update on all the files in the cat? (I'd like to learn that! ;-) --WikipediaMaster (talk) 10:46, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I believe you can request some botmasters to do it. But I don't know where to ask exactly. Maybe try one of the administrator notice boards. Commons:Administrators' noticeboard. It may be faster in the end to do it manually, and then add the redirect tag to the old category:
{{Category redirect|NEW NAME}}
It is what I have always done. I haven't had a need yet, though, to change category names for categories with a huge number of images. --Timeshifter (talk) 11:07, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
